I will say its great that they work with people with bad credit. And this really would have come in handy had I chosen to go with Drive Time. However, the customer service was not so great. I pull up, expecting someone to come out and greet me like every other car lot. No one. I walk by a few associates outside on my way to the door of which no one even acknowledges me. I go inside, I can see a few associates standing around at the other end of the room, and one behind the desk making copies. He turned around to look at me and went back to what he was doing. So I just decide I'm gonna have to forget about being welcomed or greeted and just say "hey I'm Hannah. Im here for a car." It was a little frustrating to have almost 5 associates completely ignore me, when I'm about to spend 15,000 dollars at your facility. Needless to say I'm withdrawing my down payment on the car, as I feel like if you are treated poorly BEFORE even buying the car, what are the next 5-6 years of relationship with these people going to look like? I'd rather put my money into a shop where the people care about you as a person- or at least say "hello" for that matter. Oh and on that note, it has been a headache trying to get my layaway refund. My experience here was the definition of a dealership that exploits people who are struggling. We were literally walking when we came in, and they took full advantage of that desperation. They sold us a car for $22,000 that's only worth around $5,000-$6,000. And despite all their talk about "multi‑point inspections" and "full service," the car was nowhere near ready for the road. Here's what I found after bringing it home: * Candy wrappers under the seats * Dirt and grime everywhere * Oil that clearly hadn't been changed * A fender popping out because it needed a clip * No spare tire at all * Bad, unsafe tires that should've never passed any inspection And instead of giving me a real spare, they tossed in a slime kit and a tiny imitation pump -- because they knew the tires were bad. That's not just lazy, it's unsafe. But the worst part was the financing. They added $200/month for an extended warranty and GAP insurance and rolled it into the loan at 29% interest without explaining what that meant. We've been paying on this car for two years, and because of their predatory interest rate and hidden add‑ons, we still owe around $19,000. Deceptive business. My nephew was told he was approved for 300 down. He got there and stayed for 3 hours doing paperwork and getting insurance. All to be told they couldn't verify his paystubs. All they had to do was log into Workday and then get proof from his new job he had just started. The down payment went from 300 to 3800 they said because they couldn't verify his stubs. I call BS!! This fake dealership needs to be taking out of business for misleading customers to get them in the door only to be tricked for higher down payments. My nephew didn't know any better but I do. We've had our Kia for a total of 13 days. Let me repeat, 13 days. This car is spewing oil from somewhere. It's smoking and has lost 3 quarts of oil in 13 days! We refill it. It comes out. And mind you, the car states it doesn't need serviced for another 20 days. We contacted drivetime since we are still within the 30 days, 1500 mile warranty. They referred us to SilverRock. They send us instructions on how to get it diagnosed. We then proceed to take it to Firestone. As soon as we pull in. They say Oh. My God. Where is all this oil coming from. I mean its covered under the hood, all over the place in a heavy layer. (Explains where the 3 quarts has went) But they state they'll check it out and be in touch. They call today to say, there is nothing wrong with it. So you mean to tell me, a car is supposed to use 3 quarts of oil without even being driven 1,000 miles and in 13 days?! And its supposed to have oil covering everything and smoking?! We contacted Drivetime to be told, sorry it's after 5 days. Nothing we can do about it. This place and all of its affiliates are a complete sham. They prey on people who have no other choices. Now we are $40,000 in debt. Haven't even made the first payment and we are having to pay out of our pocket for a second diagnosis and whatever those charges may be to fix the car. Oh and don't forget about the warranty that is a complete waste of time and money. There are so many clauses that they won't fix x,y, and z. But you're still paying for it. Scam Artists... Shady. In a word. Went in to look at a car I saw online. I made it clear I just wanted to test drive the car and made a point SEVERAL times to say I had no intention of financing anything. Before the guy that walked out even got the keys, he was already probing with credit-related questions like, "Did you fill out an application online?" Seriously? No relationship-building, no thank you for coming to our lot since there's literally 1000s in the immediate area, just - how can we get your info in our system. What a joke. I let the first time slip by, as some car salesmen are better than others, but strike 2 was the guy taking FOREVER to get the keys inside when I asked to test drive the car. It always makes me nervous, as you never know what they're doing in there. Strike 3 was the guy yammering on and on about his previous jobs in an attempt to "sell me" on Drivetime, since it was just SOOOO different than other car sales places. Strike 4 was them telling me they were only going to offer "auction price" on my trade in without even seeing the vehicle. That basically means they do no negotiations, charge too much for their vehicles, and give you dirt for yours in return. Strike 5 was when I agreed to go inside to get a cash price on the car, since again, I'd made it clear I had no intentions of financing anything through them, and he had the audacity to ask for my social security number in some lame attempt to "verify my identity." Seriously? You need a SSN to give a CASH price for a vehicle outright? I very bluntly said, "That ain't happening," to which he replied ok, and walked off to have a LENGTHY discussion with his "manager." He returned several minutes later and once again harped on the social saying it was just for identity purposes, and they do not run or check credit when collecting these for their system. Bull$hip. I was so nervous to buy a used car somewhere other than a dealership and getting stuck with a lemon I'm paying on for the rest of my life. I was expecting an onslaught of salesmen to come running out as soon as we pulled in but luckily there were not and I got to look a little at their stock of cars. I worked with a guy named Charlie who greeted me as soon as I got inside. Everyone was wearing a mask (thank you for caring about the health of your customers and their families) I told him what I was looking for and he pulled a few cars for me to look at. He even checked stock at the other location even though he would not get commission if they sold me a car there. He found me the PERFECT car and something I could afford. It's only 2 years old with low miles. He made sure to have everything ready to go when I showed up to days later to pick up my car (he held the car for me for $100 that ended up as part of my down payment when I picked it up) He even had them wash and detail my car. It was so quick to pick up when I got there on my lunch break. The only negative thing and it wasn't Charlie's fault but when I called ahead of time and got preapproved they told me I qualified for any car at any location. What they didn't tell me is that for the $1000 I wanted to put down I could only get certain cars others they wanted $6000 down. That was the people at the 800 number thought not the actual location so I can't fault them they were totally transparent when I was there. I would definitely buy from them again. read more

If you are looking for something reliable or durable. Then avoid drive time at all costs. I have been living in car buyers Hell for the past year due to multiple failed attempts at trying to get DriveTime to fix their wrongs. My vehicle may look pretty on the outside, or at least from what you can see. Although truthfully, there's nothing beautiful about it. The whole undercarriage of the vehicle is completely rusted out. To the point that it is like pulling teeth to find a mechanic to touch it, or let alone, put it on one of their racks. You know it's something when Jeep says the vehicle should have been auctioned for parts. You know what DriveTimes response to them "Jeep," and the previous mechanics, Precision Auto Tune, Precision Auto Care, AutoZone and multiple Firestones was? Repairs Denied or She reported this last year and we denied repairs. They offered to cover the work to put on a bracket. Every time leaving me with a bill of over $1000 worth of work. In today's economy do you think that's really something affordable, when I'm already paying them over $500 a month. Especially for a vehicle with damages that I did not cause. The vehicle isn't down from user wear and tear. The vehicle is falling apart from the undercarriage. So, now I'm coming to the Internet for a bigger platform. Until they make this right. I was extremely pleased with Sean's customer service. He made sure I got the car I wanted and made the experience personable. He was understanding when I had to leave and run an errand and walked me through reserving the car and getting everything handled when I returned. The process was as quick as could possibly be and did not have any unnecessary hurdles. I paid exactly what I intended to pay down without Sean pressuring me to put more money down. He even went the extra mile to attempt to entertain my 11 month old daughter when she started to get fussy. I'd never ever go back to Drive Time again. The first vehicle I drove off the lot with two days later needed transmission so i was told to take it back and choose something else. I walked out with a Ford Escape ( 2014) with less than 80,000 miles. Six months later it needed a transmission. The warranty they sell you is a POS. It took two different repair facilities to get the company to replace the transmission while I was out of a vehicle for two weeks. At a month LATER the transmission they paid for went out AGAIN. My vehicle is still sitting at the tepair facility a week after it was returned I will never suggest anyone getting a car from Drive Time and I'll NEVER get another one there either. The dealership and warranty people are workibg together and they sell overpriced and high interest rates and no quality vehicle. I haven't owned this car a year yet and i pay my payments on time every month just to not drive it. Stay away from this business! I went into Drive Time looking for a specific vehicle and color. The Manager greeted me. Telling me when salesman gets through popping pop corn he would be right with me. (This salesman was also training someone who sat in on our conversation.) The salesman started asking me personal information on SS, Driver's License, etc. I said to the Salesman, "I don't know why you are asking this information when I haven't found a car yet?" But, apparently this is how they do business. We all went outside but, there was nothing in this Drive Time lot that was of interest to me. I showed him what I was looking for. He knew it was in a Drive Time Store in Georgia. Said, he could possible get it. Also, I mentioned some other vehicle too. And he looked in his inventory but, no such luck. I told him to let me know if something what I was looking for come in to their store. In the meantime, told him my son was going to be my "co-signer" on the buying of a vehicle. He told me to have my son get in touch with him cause he needed his financial info. My son called 2 times, and never did he get to talk with this salesman. Plus, the guy who took the information either never gave it or something else happened. My son said I left this salesman a voice message. And yet again no return call. I did not have a real good feeling when I walked into this Drive Time store. And now I know why. I haven't ever heard back from this salesman, if only to keep me updated, or be in touch! I don't recommend dealing with this outfit. Something is not truly right here! PS Oh, Salesman took my license and went to copy machine to make a copy and didn't come back until about 10 minutes after. (was standing there talking). We are in the process of finding a great family car and where and who to find that car with. Seen Drive Time many times before and had never been to one or haven't heard what they offer or the experience. The experience with us was very disappointing. Drive up and usually you would find someone coming out to meet you. There was little to no customers there and we can see salesmen inside with there hands in their pockets looking out towards us. We walk in and are greeted by Shelby. We let him know that we have never been there before and want to see what Drive Time has to offer and what we are looking for and that we are purchasing in January. He says that what they had there would not be there at the time we are looking to buy. Totally understand that. We told him we would like to look at the vehicles to get a feeling for what they have. He asked that we go outside and take a look around. We asked if they were unlocked to look inside and he said just come back and he would get the keys. (Not, I'll walk you around, show you what we have(build a relationship with us) and if you would like to look at anything I will get the keys for you). He then said, but off the top of my head we don't have anything that you are looking for except that one car. I have nothing but good things to say. My husband was rear ended in an older model car so we just had a gut feeling that it would totaled. Knowing that we were working on rebuilding or credit it might be difficult to find financing. So Drivetime it was. I submitted the preappeoval online and it took close to no time to get approved. Lakesha reached out to me and was nothing but nice. Not pushy at all! She was extremely patient and understanding as we weren't entirely sure we would even be getting a new car while we were in insurance limbo. When we were finally able to make it in, Lakesha wasn't available so we worked with Quinton. Again - such a great customer service experience. We found the car we went in to look at and were done in a few hours. My biggest worry was that Lakesha wouldn't also get some sort of credit/commission, but Quinton was so great and made sure he put her name on everything as well. A few notes that weren't entirely obvious, but may be helpful: 1. The financing. Yes it is a "little" amount down. But the monthly car payment is broken into two and taken out every two weeks, not once a month. This is fine with us, but it wasn't clear prior to going in. It may not have been ok for some and may cause car heart break going in and finding that out. You will also pay your down payment and then your first car payment two weeks later. So just be financially prepared. 2. Don't expect a ton of bells and whistles. This isn't the brand new Honda dealership down the street. The cleanliness and condition of the car when you look at it is how you will drive it off the lot. I'm not picky so a little vacuuming doesn't bother me, but I know some people may expect full service on their new to them cars. Overall, we had a great experience and should we need a car again before our credit is rebuilt, we will definitely be back. read more

Unprofessional. Came in hoping to find out more information on their leasing program. Not only are their "leasing vehicles" riddled with cracks and rust but there were only a few to choose from. The bigger problem, however, was the complete lack of interest from any of the sales staff. Word must have gotten out that I was looking for more information rather than being ready to pull out my wallet because none of the sales staff came to speak to me even tho they were just standing around. Waited a solid 15 minutes, spoke to the girl at the front desk twice and left. From my understanding of sales, you can't sell anything if you don't talk to your customers. Sad. read more

My fiance needed a new vehicle so he went to drive time's website and got pre-approved so we went to this location. Bryan, Quinton, and Steven were great. They called multiple locations trying to find vehicles my fiance wanted, when one came available they went straight to Alabama to get it. They stayed open late to finish up the sale with us. They were friendly, easy to to work with, and enjoyable to talk with about more than just the vehicle we wanted. The vehicle was clean and in wonderful condition for a used car. They checked everything over and helped us with getting a tire fixed that was bad. I will return when the time comes to trade my personal car. read more
