At first we had a couple communication problems but in the end I was very pleased that I went with Autotech Services. Autotech Services is a mobile repair service, which was a big plus for me - I didn't have to leave home to get the work done. Willie arrived at my residence to do the work and here's where our communications proved to be out of synch -- he'd understood me to say I had the parts but that wasn't the case. No matter, this was resolved immediately by his going out of his way finding and getting the parts needed for the repair. Armed with the right parts, he completed the work expeditiously. He also discovered a problem with work done by a previous mechanic and resolved that issue. And he noted and fixed a problem with the battery tie-down that wasn't part of the work I'd hired him to do. Bottom line is I'm very happy with the repair -- the suspension noises I'd been hearing are gone, and it was cool that he took care of the other issues he found along the way. I'm very pleased that the rate he charged to do the repair was very reasonable. Parts plus labor were a little more than half of the quote I got from a chain repair place. Willie was friendly, polite, and pleasant, so a personality bonus on top of the other good stuff. Full disclosure -- I tend to stick with businesses that have lots of (positive) reviews but this time I didn't worry about review count and I am glad of it. Give Autotech Services your consideration for your vehicle repairs.

He was able to get me a discount on the battery, which was also nice making it less than the ones I had priced from Batteries+ and Costco. He came and removed the old battery to take to O'Reilly's, which provided disposal with purchase of new battery. He had already priced the battery from there with a 4 year warranty and had advised me before arriving. He was very quick to get it replaced, made sure all was working before he left and hooked it up to the battery tender. He also assisted me with some interior paneling that had come off in the rear trunk of the car. Very reasonable and affordable compared to other mobile battery services I sought bids from. EXCUSE ME, I meant *line by line: 1. The 15 minutes call could have been a lot quicker if I ya'll could tell me what is included in that inspection. I dont think ya'll could have given a straight answer if your lives depended on it! 2. I was not comfortable paying the entire bill when I couldn't get a straight answer of what I was exactly paying for. However, I offered to pay half the night before and half after the work was finished. 3. If you recall, the whole point in getting a mobile mechanic was because I just started a job and I had a meeting in the morning with my director. Which I was very clear on calling ya'll back ASAP after the meeting. Ya'll agreed and decided to make the appt and set expectations that the work would be done. Saving best for last! 4. When I called afterwards to find out nothing had been done. I was scoffed at for asking, "so how do we proceed from here?" the reply, "ughhhh, were busy now." And then silence. There never was an offer to come back out later or even another day. So I think the one truth throughout the entire response from After Hours Auto ans Truck: I told them I am leaving a review of my experience. Guess they took that as a threat. Unfortunately, this turned out to be one of the most frustrating experiences I've ever had with a mechanic. PROS 1. Affordable prices: Definitely cheaper than a dealership. 2. Strong social media presence: They post videos of their work, which some people might like for transparency. 3. They seem knowledgeable: Based on their work online, they clearly know what they're doing. CONS 1. Terrible communication: I dropped my car off at 11 AM and didn't hear anything until I texted them at 5 PM. No updates, no calls, nothing. 2. Disrespect for your time: If I'd known they wouldn't even start on my car until the evening, I wouldn't have wasted my entire day without it. I live far away and had to arrange rides back and forth. 3. No clear process: After the inspection, I didn't get a proper report, just an Instagram DM listing what was wrong with my car. There was no real explanation or discussion. 4. Unprofessional behavior: When I finally went to pick up my car, the mechanic wasn't even there. I had to wait another hour, and a kid ended up handing me my keys. 5. Ended up costing more: I had to take my car to another mechanic because I couldn't trust them to handle it, so I wasted even more money. I feel so disappointed, not just because of the wasted time, but because I went in really wanting this to work out. There's nothing worse than feeling like your time and money don't matter to someone who's supposed to be providing a service. I read the reviews and noticed this has happened to others too, so it seems like a pattern. The mechanic knows what he's doing, and it's obvious he cares about building his image and growing his business. But they need to work on respecting people's time and communicating better. I personally won't be coming back, but I truly hope they improve, because they have the potential to be so much better.
