I lent a car to a relative that live on this side of town where the battery died and threw a elv code. Unfortunate common occurrence with bmw e90s. I was able to get a SnapOn scan tool to reset it but it just wouldn't budge. Since I'm 40miles away from my mechanic and my own garage and tools with it being 114deg outside which is way too hot to work on, I figure I'd give them a call to get it towed there instead of driving back and forth or going through an expensive tow. Explained my situation and let them know I needed a reset on the CAS for the ELV counter but wasn't sure if that was reason why I couldn't get it to work. I was told it was $450 diagnostic because it was a "electrical" that would not applied to any repair. I ended up towing the car home and resetting the counter with proper cable and which took all but 5mins. They seem like a decent shop from reviews but based on my interaction it's not a place a would take my cars. A little bit of knowledge goes a long way. Although if I had no choice and no understanding I'd probably pick them over a dealership or non euro mechanic shop. There isn't really much choices in that area. read more

I brought my 2015 Mercedes C300 in for a check engine light issue. The shop diagnosed it and recommended repairs including spark plugs, ignition coil, and all four fuel injectors, and some fuel lines costing around $4,000. After picking up the vehicle, it was shaking immediately and never ran correctly. I returned it the same day and multiple times after that, but I was told to "drive it 200 miles so it can relearn," which did not fix the issue. After continued problems, I was later told the engine may have low compression and could need replacement. My concern is that the vehicle was still misfiring after the repairs, and it appears the root cause may not have been correctly diagnosed before replacing expensive parts. I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion before approving major repairs here. read more

My experience with Owner Andrew Durkin and his shop Ultimate European Repair was as atrocious as one can get. He charged me $4,598.90 to work on my car. After paying him all this money my car was still not repaired correctly. Then to add salt to the wound, Andrew fraudulently charged $700 to my girlfriend's credit card. Through the dispute charge process she was able to recoup the $700. Thereafter Andrew filed a small claims complaint against me. Fortunately, the magistrate dismissed it. My mistake was not digging further and uncovering the fake reviews. I didn't bother checking other websites. I am responsible for failing to do enough diligence and trusting Google. From this experience I learned that Andrew tricks algorithms with fake reviews and by arbitrarily removing negative reviews. This skews Ultimate European Repair's Google presence. The corrupt practice by Andrew has perpetrated customer deception and highlighted themselves in search results. The stress of enduring this disaster was immeasurable. I can unequivocally tell you that Andrew exploited my lack of car knowledge by squeezing more money out of me for unnecessary repairs. Save your money and go elsewhere. I am sharing this expensive and painful lesson to warn off others. read more

I came in with my 2012 vw gti with many misfires. After doing with what I can do, I took it to a mechanic who had no idea what is wrong with it. So I gave this place a shot next, and wow... they were amazing every day. Every day I was given a call about the progress on my car and what was happening to it. They always checked in with me. They ended up taking a week to fix my vehicle but I don't blame them since the problem was very tricky to even find. I was worried my aftermarket parts might be missing or causing issues with the tech but it was treated as a normal stock vehicle. In the end, it ended up costing way more than expected but with what they offered other than the actual job, I was okay with it. I got my moneys worth for sure since it's been running amazingly ever since then. Actually, even better than before it broke down. Think Again! This guy is a scam artist! I took my 98 BMW Roadster in for service and they attempted to charge me for repairs I had already paid for with the dealer. They tried to say that BMW Phx was incorrect in their diagnostics and I should pay them another $4600 to have it repaired. After arguing with the obnoxious owner Andrew Durkin, he tried to flip the story on to me and essentially blame me for going to the dealer 1st! Im am out of pocket $190 and 6 hours of time I should have spent with the dealer instead or at least a REPUTABLE repair shop that isnt scamming their costumers in an attempt to make up for lost wages during the pandemic! It's sad the levels these shops are resorting to. My advice: if you're going to spend $200 go to the dealer and get your car diagnostics done properly. Then, find a reputable shop that specializes in BMW! Dont go to this hack! read more

BEWARE - Although they "guarantee" their diagnostics, they are likely to misdiagnose your car's problem and not tell you about other issues upfront. You are liable to pay or finance expensive repairs just to find out other (more expensive) repairs are needed immediately afterward and what you'll get is "sorry, the timing sucks for sure but...." Get a second opinion! I wish to God I had. I went several thousand in debt and my car is still in disrepair. All of this due to a "check engine light". I would have been better off going to the dealer... At least I know that they actually stand behind their work and have the ability to fully diagnose problems accurately!! I believe they get so many good reviews, is that they send a lot of text reminders to give them a review, which may skew their Yelp presence. The reason for 3-stars is that their pricing is similar other shops and not more competitive. Also, the constant reminders to give them a review. I will give them an opportunity to quote work in the future, if needed, but will be shopping price more. The idea that they are able to service customers quickly speaks to the demand for service and volume of customers - i.e. there's a reason the shop is not filled with customers and I suspect it may be price. Do not bring your car here. My brake fluid light came on so I topped it off with brake fluid and took it here to make sure everything was okay since my brake fluid light remained on causing my brake lights to stay on constantly. They charged over $100 for the inspection and told me I have a list of things wrong with my car but that the brake fluid light was on because I have a brake fluid leak and need my brake fluid master cylinder replaced. They quoted me at $1600. When I originally brought my car in, another customer was complaining about how much they charged him for a repair and that he would never bring his car back. Because of that interaction I witnessed and the fact that my car is newer with not a lot of miles on it, I called another top rated shop for a second quote. They quoted a brake fluid master cylinder replacement closer to $700 and stated they do inspections at no charge. When I called this place back to understand the difference in price, they justified the quote stating their mechanics are skilled, would do the work correctly, and that they use new parts. I decided to bring my car to the other shop instead because I did not think that response justified a $900 price difference, they gave the same spiel to the angry man complaining when I dropped off my car, and when I asked for a break down of their quote it did not break down parts, labor, or anything - just stated brake fluid master cylinder: $1600. After the second shop's inspection, they said I had NO brake fluid leak, the brake fluid master cylinder did not need to be replaced, and there also was nothing else wrong with my car. They said the reason my brake fluid light remained on was because the switch was malfunctioning and that these parts tend to malfunction earlier on - only $200 to replace. They also said if I did need the master cylinder replacement, it still wouldn't even be over $1,000 total WITH the switch replacement. The second shop is ordering the parts for the switch straight from the car company as they are the only ones who make this part for my car so I assume it will come new & with over 500 5 star reviews on yelp, I'm sure the shop my car is at now has mechanics that are skilled and can replace the switch correctly - oh, and they're honest too. I am reporting Ultimate European Repair to the Better Business Bureau so hopefully others don't get scammed like I almost did. read more
