It's not big, but it has a really great selection. Blue Ginger has about nine stores, all in Hawaii. They're stylish island clothes and, most important, they specialize in matching mother/daughter outfits. Yelpers visiting Maui should know that.

The price on the merchandise varies from inexpensive $6 books to an $98 swim suit with a mermaid-like pants for children. When you first walk in, you are treated by lots of local art in vibrant colors. In the back there are cases with eclectic jewelry, many pieces from local artists. There are goddess style dresses, t-shirts and small gift items. Their perfumed oils are heavenly. The prices are on the high end, but this is a tourist mall and the items are unique. I've been searching for a pair of Sterling and Larimar earrings to match a gorgeous pendant and ring I have. Larimar is a sky blue stone from the Dominican Republic. It's rare and very very striking. Most earrings are small drops but I like long dangling earrings that make a statement. I found them here and didn't hesitate to by them immediately! The stones are large and a perfect shade of sky blue hanging from a curved hook so they hang at cheek level. Perfect! They were $138 and I already treasure them. Wish this shop had more jewelry, gifts and clothes! A gem amongst the stores at this mall. The woman waiting on me was super friendly and we easily engaged in conversation. I'll be back!

My second visit in January 2026 was just as great--I found the same bikini in a different color and was thrilled. Unfortunately, after my purchase I realized the sizes were wrong. I called immediately and was told to come back to exchange for the correct size. On my third visit, Sunday January 11th around 3 PM, there were no sizes available in any of the bikini styles. Since we visit every year, I asked for store credit. I was told, "I'm not sure how to do that, so you'll need to use the full credit." To my shock, I was pressured into picking out random items I didn't need--Sand Cloud towels and a t-shirt--just to use the credit. It was incredibly disappointing to go from top-notch service to what felt like gas-station-level customer service. Sadly, I won't be returning.

We shopped at island gourmet markets (an abc with more food options), blue ginger, whalers general store (my favorite as I got some souvenirs from here). They also have an added bonus of a strong Hawaiian culture dance and crafts program associated with the shopping center. See photo. It's too bad I didn't realize they had all these cultural programs earlier as I wanted to join in some of them. I tried on one of the RipCurl tees, size XL, and it fit good, so I picked another XL teeshirt. I did not actually try it on because it was also an XL. When I got back to the condo in Kihei, I cut tags off and got them ready for wearing. The next morning, I put on the XL and it was too small. I tried on the other XL and it fit fine. I noticed a tear right away in the seem of the shirt that fit, so we took them back. The receipt/return policy clearly states that refund or exchanges are OK with receipt. When we tried to return them, Jessica and two other employees stated that the manager said they smell and the tags were removed, so they would not exchange or refund. We were confused about "smell", as my wife and I smelled them and they smelled like new store merchandise. We did not wash or wear them, and only tried them on. My wife asked to speak to district manager. The district manager reluctantly approved the exchange. RIP Curl is supposedly a reputable brand, but if they will not stand behind their products, we will not shop there again. WARNiNG to all Rip Curl shoppers at Wailea Shops... DONT SHOP here... Rip Curl does not care about repeat business, value of their product, and has ZERO business integrity. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere.

There were a lot of different varieties it took a bit to give everything the once over, but the ladies working inside were super nice and answered all my questions and even helped direct me to find two button-up Hawaiian shirts that were on sale. After making my purchase they were even nice enough to throw some candy and a puka shell necklace for free. A nice touch. All in all, this was one of the better souvenir shops I visited while in Maui.
