I could write a novel here about how much I LOVE Drovers, I've been coming here for over 20 years. But I"ll keep this short and sweet. #1. If I'm ever offered a "Last Meal" for any reason. Drovers is where I'll request my food. Large Honey BBQ, Seasoned Fries w/cheese & cajun, and of course an order of Hot Pepper Cheeseballs. #2. Anyone that posts on here that places like BW's, Quaker Steak, Etc have "Better Wings" than Drovers. Were obviously born without working taste buds and should be stripped of their YELP Account. I'm not knocking those places but they simply just can't compete. I've been around the world twice. So I feel comfortable saying Drovers has the best Wings on the PLANET. read more

Excellent wings. We had a sweet n spicy oriental and garlic buffalo. Both were excellent, just a little spice, and the wings were cooked well with a slight crunch. Appetizers were good too! I'm not a HUGE wing guy, but these are EASILY the best wings I have EVER had. I'm sure a lot of people agree with just how good they truly are. I've eaten here twice, ordered different flavors of wings both times, and was equally blown away at how good the wings were on those two visits. The atmosphere is just as good. A home, converted into a restaurant makes you feel like you're sitting at your own dinner table. I cannot shine enough light on this place. One of the best establishments in the tri-state area! Their wings are the best wings I have ever had and I have never had a bad experience here. My friends and I have been coming here since for the past 6-7 years and it never gets old. My recommendation is the buffalo garlic wings with blue cheese, with potato wedges that are covered in cheese and Cajun seasoning. read more

PEACE LOVE AND CHICKEN GREASE Carrie was our waitress and she was GREAT! Perfect balance between attentive, efficient and friendly. The chicken is the star here. The wings alone were worth the drive. I was also a big fan of the fried pickles (I'm a fried pickle connoisseur-yep I love bar food). They were fried in spears not coins and the sauce was sooooo special (not "special" like that annoying cousin at the family reunion "special" tangy sweet goodness). Hubby got the BROASTED CHICKEN DINNER and he said it was as good as his momma's fried chicken . That's a HUGE compliment from a southern boy. I had to try the chicken wings because of all the fab reviews on yelp and honey child they were "slap ya mama" good! I think their secret is a special cooking method similar to an air fryer because nothing was greasy but everything was lightly crispy. Simply magical The dinner was so yummy and our waitress so helpful I asked for a dessert recommendation and she told me about a strawberry shortcake that was the perfect summer delight. They have a small selection of house wines and beers. I didn't visit the tavern downstairs so I can't say if they had a full service bar. Terrible!! I can't believe the positive reviews for this place. I would question how legitimate the reviews are. Did we eat at the same place? I will keep an eye on this review to see how quickly a negative review is removed. Drover's Inn has taken a serious nose dive over the years. This used to be a very nice family restaurant where you could sit to an enjoyable meal with a pleasing atmosphere. The theme of this restaurant seems to no longer be family friendly. Just beers and wings here folks! No dress code, shorts and t-shirts seems to be the new norm. Atmosphere was terrible! I was hustled to the back of the restaurant where I was seated by an obnoxious party of loud and annoying people. TV's in corners boasted the new bar-like presence, and the icing on the cake was when a waitress took the trash out during my meal. Yep! she sure did! There was gross stuff on my knife so I had to ask for new cutlery, still not clean. My food took forever, chicken was so-so but my (instant) mashed potatoes were too watery, no dinner roll and no steak knife was offered. I had to cut my chicken with a butter knife. Really? The meal was generally overpriced and disappointing. Waitress was rude and just generally seemed like she did not want to be there. (Of course looking for a tip that she did not deserve.) My wife's meal was just as bad and she felt very uncomfortable and disappointed with the whole experience. We won't return any time soon, if ever. I'd be happy to see this place close it's doors in the near future. I have no idea why this once nice establishment has gone down hill to such an extreme but I will be sure to share my experiences with friends and family. read more

I've heard about Drover's Inn and their wings for years, but I live over an hour away and the restaurant is a bit out of the way for my normal travel patterns. Came here for lunch when I was finally going to be in the area. I got a large (2 pounds) order of chicken wings, half with Sweet Hot Oriental sauce, which was similar to sweet chili sauce, and half with garlic parmesan. Wings were meaty and cooked to crispy but not dry. I liked the Sweet Hot Oriental sauce, which isn't actually very hot. Garlic parmesan was OK, but would probably try something else next time. My boyfriend got the chicken wrap and raved about it. The restaurant building itself is an interesting location being a 170-year old tavern. Service was fast. We got seated right away as we arrived shortly after they opened, but I noticed they take a lot of reservations too so you might want to call ahead. read more

I've been there and eaten them, they are not as good. I'm not joking, the wings are truly amazing. I was introduced to this establishment while attending Washington and Jefferson for college. I now live in Pittsburgh and still regularly travel here to have the wings and introduce the place to new friends. I have never ordered anything else on the menu, aside from sharing some appetizers with friends. The basement bar is a nifty place to eat wings. Sometimes I think it's only the nostalgia of the wings I ate in highschool....but it's really not. These are simply the best wings I've ever had in my life. I've lived in 3 major cities, 2 of them being the largest in the country, and still have not found wings that compare to this tiny little former Inn in rural West Virginia. This place used to be an Inn from the 1800s and has lovely antiques adorning the walls. The placemat is a copied newspaper clipping from the Inn's heyday. You order by the pound and they are quite possibly the largest wings I've ever seen presented at a restaurant. Their sauces are near perfection and while you won't find as many choices as a "wing stop" or "Quaker steak", it doesn't matter because the ones available are incredibly delicious. These wings are huge (biggest I've ever had... thats what she said). They have a variety of sauces, all absolutely PERFECT! I am a lover of wings, I have sampled many, when I say these are the best, its the truth. Fact. Solid. So they do this thing, inspired only by God I am quite sure. This is my absolute favorite restaurant, and the wings are worth the drive from anywhere. I always get the sweet oriental wings, fried ravioli and sometimes the cheese balls or fried pickles. The sauce that comes with the fried pickles is a delicious honey mustard that I can't get enough of! Drovers is a very old farm house / tavern (over 150 years) that was converted to a restaurant and has all the charm that comes with being a historical building. It's a favorite among locals, especially college students. If you are able to, ask to sit in the basement. It's dark and damp but the atmosphere is very unique, complete with old beer mugs / steins hanging from the ceiling. They have a nice selection of drafts and bottles as well as mixed drinks. If you don't arrive right when they open, there will most likely be a wait. It's always a good idea to have reservations - and if you are going on a weekend and have a bigger group you may want to check a day or two in advance. read more

I'm lucky enough to live in this city just for the fact I can eat drovers whenever I please. These wings are unlike anything you will ever have considering all the sauces are secret. People who like very hot food, "Myself included", try the hurt me wings. Although they are very hot the sauce is precisely seasoned with many different ingredients that leave your taste buds wondering. Truly beautiful place with an exquisite dining experience. Yes, this place can be a bit of a drive out of your way. It is more than worth it. If you are looking to test your spice threshold then they have a "Hurt Me" sauce to do just that. As good as the wings and sauces are here, there are other delectable on the menu to complement any meal or group socialization. It is all reasonably price too. This is a truly old fashion place and a gem for both the laid back evening or the semi-romantic dinner. If I would point out any negatives it would only be the drive, and lack of WiFi access. Drover's is just about what you would expect from an Inn or bar style restaurant. The scenery is rustic and country and the overall 'theme' of the restaurant is very consistent throughout. It is not a fine dining restaurant and does not try to be. Drover's is a great place to take a small to medium sized group. The service is friendly and usually prompt. I haven't had any food that I didn't like at Drover's. There are some things that are better than others but there are no specific menu items to avoid. Most people go for the wings. It is what they are primarily known for and they do not disappoint. I enjoy good wings and have them different places from time to time but I have never considered myself a 'wing person.' Even with that being said, I still order wings 8/10 times. There are enough sauce/flavor options to please anyone and the portions are will not leave you hungry. Other food items to note would be the fries that are available with a variety of toppings. While I don't particularly enjoy my fries swimming in gravy I do enjoy the cheese and other options. They do have a full bar and a descent selection of beer. The actual bar in the basement is very interesting and worth a visit. The basement is just what you would expect from the cellar of an old inn. The exposed rock and lower lighting really set the atmosphere. The only thing I'm not a fan of is the drive in in-climate weather. The roads aren't as well taken care of the closer you get to Drover's. This hasn't stopped us from getting our favorite wings though! read more

Got wings there for pick up, one large order of buffalo-garlic and one large hot. The wings were great, and I really enjoyed the nice amount of crispyness. When i got them home they were still hot and juicy. The sauces were nice. The hot was not that hot, more like a medium. So if you want real spice, go even higher.
