Gemma's vinyasa classes are hard, including her "gentle vinyasa" class. You will sweat buckets, and that's no exaggeration. Maybe there are a handful of people who don't break a sweat in her extremely popular classes, but I'm not one of them. Some things to keep in mind: 1. Show up 5-10 minutes early to get your spot, it will fill up. 2. The class might start a few minutes late, end 10-20 minutes later than scheduled--important if you're feeding a meter. 3. Check your ego & anxiety at the door. There will be people more fit than you, at 1/3 or 2x your age--we are each going for the same reasons: mental & physical health. Do your modifications, take a breather, it's all cool, no judgement. If someone does judge you, it's their problem, not yours, so who cares? 4. Take your time. I'm no weakling & have taken well over a thousand yoga classes during the past 3 years, in addition to my other fitness routines, and these classes are still hard. 5. Drink plenty of water 6. Enjoy the happy glow that can last at least another full day Bonus: my husband is happy that I'm enjoying yoga again, instead of feeling grumpy due to issues at another studio. Angela has spent time in India and her practice shows it. She uses both the Sanskrit and English names for the poses which I've grown to enjoy. She has awesome musical choices too which I put a high value on. I've also taken classes with Sal, who has a different style than Angela for sure. I've never left his class without laughing. He has a way of not letting you take yoga too seriously. He also has a love of 80's music which I couldn't take from anyone else, but it's great paired with him. I've taken Jess's Yin class too which is super for a relaxed vibe. I encourage everyone to give PYS a shot and perhaps expand your practice in a way that you might not expect.

I am so happy this studio opened in my town! I have never done yoga before (I have always been a…read morerunner.) but after moving to Skillman I wanted to try something new indoors for the winter instead of the traditional treadmill at the gym. This studio offers all types of classes for yoga, barre, meditation, etc. Lindsey and her staff were very helpful and walked me through which each class offered before I began. I didn't know anything about yoga or what anything meant! I started with the heated slow flow, but have been attending Vinyasa and heated power flow as well! I love the heated classes, they are so comforting (and they are a pretty dry heat.) You can really work up a sweat in some of these classes! There are always candles (fake of course for safety) and essential oils running, so the ambiance is very nice and relaxing. Booking and scheduling is very easy, can be done either through the website or through the MINDBODY App. You can schedule or cancel at any time without a penalty, which is nice when my personal schedule is not consistent. The classes can be purchased in bulk for a discount, individually, or as an unlimited package. I first tried the two week unlimited trial period, which was great. It allowed me to give it a fair chance without an expensive and long term commitment to see if I really enjoyed it. Here we are , 2 months later and I go between 2-3 times per week! I walked in, nervous and timid, and I was welcomed with open arms. I felt the warmth of the staff from the second I entered the building. The storefront is bright, clean and full of life, (literally because there are plants everywhere). There are 3 different yoga spaces. The smallest is called the cozy studio and can fit about 10-13 comfortably. The main studio can fit up to 32 and they also have a studio upstairs in the loft where they offer Aerial Yoga and YogaBaree classes. The variety and amount of classes is quite impressive. All of the instructors are incredibly experienced and provide more than just the physical practice of yoga. Most instructors include a great deal of the philosophical teachings of yoga that the practice is based on. I fell in love with yoga because of this studio and after practicing for some time, I decided to go through their teacher training program. This was the most valuable and transformative decision I have ever made. I am now a verified 200 hour RYT. Honor Yoga is an amazing company that is growing larger every day and spreading the joy and connection that yoga offers. I highly recommend this studio to all levels. Fortunately, Anew is not like that! I was able to get 1 month of unlimited yoga for an extremely affordable price with no strings attached. I was especially excited about trying the yoga at Anew because they had SUCH an extensive variety of classes. I could do a Honey Flow class with my mom who is more on the beginner side of things, I got do a heated flow asana when I really wanted to get in a sweaty workout, and I even got to try aerial yoga for the first time. Every class I took was accommodating and welcoming. Each instructor gave options to turn up the poses into more difficult ones or ways to turn them down if it wasn't working in your body. Unfortunately I echo many of the other reviews on this site - poor customer service and employee training-resulting in terrible customer experience. I recently went to the spa for a massage. Upon checkout the receptionist told me there was a note on my file for 20% off my service. She reached out to the spa manager who indicated since there was no name or date on the note that they should ignore it and did not honor the discount. When questioned they said that it was an employee error. Seems like the customers bear the brunt of all employee errors--I did send a note to the GM - Hayden Duffy. I look forward to a response.
