Our first time visiting this tavern, service was great, very efficient and attentive. Food was very good, tasty and hot, lots to choose from. There's plenty to see hanging on the wall which tells the story of Mr. Drum and how he created Arnold Palmer the golf legend. It's a small cozy place to hang at the bar of have a nice dinner, parking on the other hand is a hunt and find as down town fill up quickly as it approaches 6pm. Because I always want to kill a roach running across the bar. When I told the bartender to please cancel my food that I don't want to eat at a roach infested restaurant she never said anything. She just canceled and did nothing. The other lady I told how gross it was to find a roach and have them not even apologize or say they would handle the situation. This dark attitude rude brusk waiter should be washing dishes in my opinion. He served spilled drinks and had to be hailed for some simple bar napkins, managed to got everyone orders mixed up, spilled luke warm soup on the table and had to be asked to please clean it up. He grunted under his breath his dislike of working a slow night. I doubt I'll return soon and will definitely demand a better server. The burgers we all ordered were prepare correctly but the server spoiled the evening with his flippant approach. Tall blond kid name Darren or Derrick. Also I always felt the place to be very noisy due to loads of Golfers. But last night, a third full, we could hear the Kitchen crew yelling at waitstaff for pickups. On a beautiful fall October Sunday, what's better than taking a drive to Pinehurst for their drinks special. Then are known for their specialty Mimosas'. Service is good and the food OK. My husband asked for a medium hamburger and got a well done. I was excited to order from their tempora menu, just to find out it was just deep fried stuff. Came here at the end of the lunch rush.....waitress told us upfront they were understaffed and it might take a while to get our lunch....not a problem, especially when the expectation has been set for our party of three. But there were a few issues that we endured and my dining mates shared with the employees. First, one person ordered unsweet tea, she was served sweet tea. We were told the vats of tea were mislabeled. Ok, it can happen. Hot honey chicken sandwich had a bun that wasn't fresh....a soft depression of the crust prompted it to crack, plus it was dry. There was little effort with the presentation as well. I ordered the house made chips which were not made to order, but that was fine. They were served with a very small cup of ranch, Cobb salad was ok at best......she didn't want blue cheese in it, requested any other cheese they may have. It arrived with no cheese at all. The other diner ordered chicken salad on croissant. The bun wasn't fresh and dry. The filling was not chicken salad, but just shredded dry chicken. That went back. When the check came, after a long wait, that item was removed. But my dining mates expressed their dissatisfaction when the check was presented. The server told us she would just void out the whole thing., which she did. Our guess is that there were other issues which made this call for her easy. Overall the dining experience was subpar and will probably not return......which is too bad as it has "local joint" vibes. A prior good experience brought us back here today. read more

Wait time for food, if you're lucky enough to be seated, is unreasonable. Our wait time was 45 minutes on a Thursday evening. To say "vibrant" atmosphere would be an understatement. More like rowdy. Unfortunately, they don't do bleu cheese olives, so just settled for what they had (out of a big jar) - they were just ok, not great. The bartender was excellent - attentive and nice. I would have recommended this business. It was one of my favorite go to places for a nice dinner and great experience. We always took our out of town guests here. But the Health reports being consistently in the 80's and now 83 as of March 2026. We will not be going back or recommending it to friends and neighbors until we see a change in the rating to the 90's at least. So sorry one of my favorite places to get the best burger. read more

Astrid isn't just serving drinks; she's serving therapy, stand-up comedy, and good life advice all shaken (not stirred) into a perfect cocktail. Her drink recommendations? Flawless. Her banter? Sharper than a chef's knife. Her vibe? Think "cool older cousin who knows all the good secrets" mixed with "person you'd absolutely follow into battle." The drinks were top-tier, the food was the kind of good that makes you instinctively close your eyes after the first bite, and the atmosphere made me seriously consider quitting my job to become a full-time barfly here. Just got home from a weekend trip to Pinehurst. Had to leave a note on this pub. Stopped in to watch the end of the Arnold Palmer Invitational and was told owner mandated meaningless regular season NBA game on TVs. That and the music, again the owners choice, reminded me of being on hold with my Drs. office. Again, staff on site was very friendly and attentive but if they are restricted from meeting customers wishes, I can't recommend visiting this establishment. read more
