I've used this towing company several times, I've always been satisfied with their work, the drivers have always been very friendly , they have always been on time never been late, the drivers explained to me step by step as he was putting my BMW up on the flatbed. Not that I needed to know the steps, but I felt appreciated of the way he was treating my BMW. It's just an overall great company. I had to have my Chevy Silverado towed to Malloy Chevrolet in Charlottesville. I talked to Ashley on the phone and she was very nice and helpful. She said all the trucks were tied up at the moment but within the hour someone would call. In about 40 minutes Donnie called and said he was on the way and within 15 minutes he was at the parking lot near UVA where my truck broke down. Donnie was extremely courteous and professional and put my mind at ease. Everything he did was quick and you could tell he had been doing this type of work for a long time. He assured my wife and I that he would get the truck delivered and he called me back to let us know that it was at the dealer and my key was in the drop box slot. To say I was impressed is an understatement. AAA sent Drumhellers Towing to jump start our battery when we were stranded in a dark, empty parking lot on a COLD night. Jessie with Drumhellers responded in HALF the time AAA had estimated and was friendly, efficient, and considerate! He started our car in 2 minutes AND had us wait in his warm truck to make sure our battery charged enough to make sure it didn't dim our headlights during our 2 1/2 hour drive home! 60 miles from home at a Dr. appt. and battery died. Called AAA and requested service and AAA responded quickly that someone would arrive w/i 45 minutes to assist w/ starting the vehicle. Yesterday I had Drumhellers Towing tow my car to a mechanic via AAA. When I spoke to my mechanic today, they said that it never showed up. Drumhellers denied any wrong doing and made me get an Uber there to verify with my own eyes that it was not there, all the while assuring me that it went to the correct address. At this point they finally contacted the serviceman and found out he took it to the wrong place. They did not offer so much as an apology for wasting my time and money, much less the stress caused by them losing my freaking car. I feel like I'm in an Ashton Kutcher movie "Dude, where's my car?!" Absolutely pitiful, I will not be using their service again and I recommend you avoid it at all costs. I wish there was a way to give zero stars. read more

Highly recommend this company. They responded to my AAA call for a flat tire on my Ram 1500 4x4. Needed to get to work. I was concerned when I saw Waynesboro as the business location but they had drivers in Charlottesville and got to me in less than 30 minutes. Driver was awesome, got my truck up on the flatbed and to Goodyear quickly. Driver was very professional and friendly. Shout out to Drumhellers of Waynesboro for hiring the best help ever. Nathan Brooks turned up almost immediately after our SOS to AAA for assistance with a flat tire on a hot hot parking roof. He was knowledgeable and kind and helpful and although our problem was outside his ability to completely solve, he helped get us to a safe place so a tow truck could move our car. The roof we were on wouldn't bear the weight of a tow truck but he managed to inflate the tire enough to allow us to drive off and park. This organization is absolutely Top-Notch - from Tim who professionally and expertly answered all my questions over the phone to William Kyle who carefully (and gingerly) placed my 18 yr old Porsche Boxster S on to his flatbed and delivered to my mechanic for repair (new battery/tune-up/oil change/inspection etc). If I could give Drumheller's Towing & Recovery ZERO stars I WOULD. My husband was in a bad car crash and Drumheller's was given the job of towing the vehicle. After 10 hours in the emergency room and my husband receiving stitches in his face from a plastic surgeon because the gashes were so bad, my mother-in-law and I contacted Drumheller's to be able to retrieve all belongings from the truck. My Mother-in-law called first and was hung up on. The second phone call, the employee, Chris, was very rude to my mother-in-law and made her feel belittled because she didn't know the protocol for retrieving a vehicle from an accident. I also called Chris, who was short and agitated by my phone call as well. When I asked where their location was, he gave me as little information as possible. He claimed to my mother-in-law that there was no one available at the Charlottesville shop to meet us for the truck which was a blatant lie. Even though, he told us we were not allowed to get to the truck even though we had all appropriate information for ownership, we decided to still try and find the location so that we could hopefully get things the next day. Upon arrival, I found two male employees laying on couches in the dark with their legs propped up and crossed on the couch's arm watching t.v. I asked the men if I could get to the truck and they didn't even get up or have the common decency to look me in the eye and say no. They just muttered to me without skipping a beat of watching t.v. I then asked if I could at least go and see the truck and they responded, while still not looking or getting up to speak to me, by saying that I could look through the fence line. Our conversation ended when one of the guys just said to the other, not even to me "Dispatch told me to not let them in." They were about as helpful and respectful as a stick. Frustrated, I walked out of the door to tell my mother-in-law what had just happened. We sat there in dismay in the truck, and after about 10 minutes of trying to make sense of the situation the guys came out for a smoke break. One guy spoke to us for a moment and said that he was always there from morning until about 11 at night, so obviously Chris lied about no one being available. Today, we called to speak to the owner, Sharon. She as well is unhelpful and uncaring. She admitted to telling the dispatch not to allow us back to the truck and admitted to telling him to lie to us that no one was available. No one ever should or wants to be placed in the situation where a loved one has injured themselves so terribly bad. These people had no idea what the outcome of the accident was, whether my husband was safe or if he had died. There was no empathy in helping us understand what needed to be done in the situation after such a traumatic experience. Instead of helping bring the situation to a close, they just added more stress, emotional pain and frustration. I have never in my life been treated with such disrespect, such lack of empathy or care as well as unprofessionalism. I myself, am a business owner and understand the importance of putting the customer first which is obviously not a priority for Sharon and her business. She is a direct reflection of what her employees are, just there to get a paycheck. I am in the process of reporting this company to the Albemarle County Police department to do whatever I can to have them removed from the list of possible tow companies for vehicle crashes. Situations such as these are stressful and traumatic enough without having to add more stress from people who are not willing to communicate properly to you, give you the time of day or even tell you the truth. Please do not use this company, and if you are in an accident do whatever you can to make sure the officers do not have Drumheller's tow your vehicle. No one deserves what my family has gone through and hopefully my efforts to report them will be helpful in making sure that no one has to. read more

Jeff of Drumheller's towing and recovery responded to our call to AAA for a dead battery on a car. He made it to where we were stranded in less than a 1/2 hour (much faster than expected). He was able to immediately diagnose the problem and he presented me with several options being very honest about the pros and cons of each. We ended up deciding on replacing the battery right there. He was able to do this very quickly and was very knowledgeable about the whole matter. He was very informative and he gave me tips to help avoid this problem in the future. Overall, he was great. AAA dispatched this towing company to assist me with a dead battery, which they did. When they left, and I went to drive my car I noticed a warning light on and several of the lights on my dashboard were not working. I drove my car straight to the dealership and they diagnosed the problem as a blown fuse from an improper battery installation. It cost $90.02 to repair it. I called the Drumhellers Towing and spoke with their manager Sharon Morland. She refused to pay for the repair for the improper installation and said, "it's your word against ours." - How's that for customer service? Don't use this company. read more

Very poor experience of this company. They were sent out by AAA to jump start my car in a hospital car park where I work. Chris, the mechanic who came out, was very rude when he couldn't find the car park (one of two) and very rude when we met beside my car. It took him 30 min to drive between the two car parks (5 min apart from one another). He said nothing to help the situation, started the car and then demanded my registration papers, a signature and then tried to close the door to his truck with me beside it so that he could leave. He refused to give me a receipt/acknowledgment and then drove off without another word being said. read more

I am VERY disgusted with the level of service I received from Drumheller's Towing. My tow truck driver was nice. But that is where ANY amount of customer service ends. 1) Even though AAA was the one who called them and had them come out to tow my vehicle, Drumheller's charged my insurance company several hundred dollars in towing. FULL price, when AAA paid for towing!! And 2) I had to contact them SEVERAL times, requesting my license plates be mailed to me, before anyone cared enough to actually DO it. It took well over two weeks to finally get them to say they were dropping them in the mail that day. WAIT---not them---it. Not only did they take that long, but they didn't even send me BOTH my license plates! The person who went to my vehicle to get them said there was only one, yet I distinctly remember there being two---one on the SUV and one inside on the driver's side. He didn't bother to look inside! I need those plates to put on my new car, but because of Drumheller's lack of professionalism, I have to go to the DMV and order NEW plates, when all I had to do was put my old ones on my new car. Now I am being inconvenienced because of them. Stay away! You've been warned. read more

This is a very unprofessional & predatory company. One of their operators towed our vehicle after it had broken down in a small parking lot located adjacent to a business we had just visited. This satellite lot had no signage stating that vehicles may be towed. Our vehicle was towed after only five hours on a Sunday afternoon, all while the business in question was open. It was gone when we returned with a charged battery to get the vehicle going again. The store manager knew nothing about a vehicle being towed nor did the local police. Once we determined where the vehicle had been towed, we were informed over the phone that "there's nothing we can do." This person said that they had a contract with the property owner to tow vehicles that were left there after hours. Our vehicle was towed between 4:00-6:00 PM when the store was open until 9:00 PM. A call to their office from the store on our behalf did absolutely no good. The towing company personnel were intractable and insisted they had acted ethically. Not a chance - this company seems to only be out for the almighty dollar. I would push a disabled vehicle home before considering calling Drumhellers Towing. There is a reason that towing companies don't have a very good image and the cause is business tactics like these. read more
