After receiving a quote, taking pictures for 2 hours and paying our deposit, we waited 3 1/2 weeks for our scheduled concrete lifting repair. During the initial consultation, we were assured the repair would not be a problem. However, when the two technicians arrived, they spent about 15 minutes assessing the situation before leaving, stating they could not complete the job. What was even more frustrating was the lack of communication afterward. We spent the next 12 hours trying to reach someone at the local branch to discuss the issue and find a resolution for this much-needed repair. Despite repeatedly requesting a phone call, no one ever contacted us. Instead, all communication was handled through text messages. We were eventually informed that a waiver would be required, something that was never discussed during the consultation. At that point, we requested a full refund of our deposit. In all my years, I have never experienced such poor communication and customer service from a company. Based on our experience, I would encourage others to proceed with caution when considering Groundworks in Belmont, NC.

We were very, very impressed with both the quality of work that Cory, Noah and Desmond provided but also with the customer service that was provided immediately after when we experienced an issue. The morning after they finished the work we awoke to no hot water and no air conditioning. We checked everything we knew to check on our end with no success. Then we call Dry Otter. Our thought at that point was that in doing the work under the house some wires to the other units had accidentally been pulled loose enough to cause problems but not loose enough to be noticed. They very quickly sent a team out to go back in and look. When their team couldn't find anything, they upped their game and called in an electrician. He was able to fix the issue with the hot water heater. That left the AC unit. It was still not working and it was hot outside. So, we called our HVAC guy that we have used for years. Our guy came out, found that problem quickly and fixed it. I went ahead and paid him, then called Dry Otter for reimbursement which they did very rapidly. So long story short, their customer service is great as well. Were they the cheapest of the 6 companies we got quotes from? No, they were about in the middle. But we were very impressed with them from the very beginning and were impressed all the way to the end.

Communication with Dry Otter has been my biggest problem. I have not recieved a call/text/email telling me when this will be completed. I have tried calling was told they would be back to me with a day and time. Dry Otter has also left a large air buffer in my house, you would think they may need this.

His crew even hit an underground power line and he refused to pay repairs on this as well. After trying repeatedly over and over to get him to repair the wall with no response. We Even went through an attorney, with no response from Blake Alan Howard. So we have had to hire another wall contractor to repair Blakes failing wall that he built. His Angie's List add states, "we guarantee total customer satisfaction with reliable warranty for all our work." But he has yet to try to help resolve his failing wall problem!! Solution ::::The only thing that I want Blake to do is to pay for all repair work that is being done on his failing wall he built to make it right. That is all we ask for!!! Beware! I had Blakes Waterproofing waterproof our basement. It was negotiated in the sale of the…read morehouse we purchased. At the time he had a 5 star rating on every platform and an A+ rating with the BBB. When he completed the work I asked him how the 2 corner areas that he waterproofed could possibly fix the moisture issues along the entire soil side of the basement. He told me that he didn't know that was an issue when he quoted our project. I said that the realtor gave him a 68 page inspection report that outlined all areas that were a problem. At first he denied receiving that report. When the selling and purchasing agents confronted him he admitted to me that he rushed through the quote and never read the report. Later he denied that conversation ever happened but I had an eye witness. I had to pay an additional $12,000 to have the job completed properly by a different company. When I asked what he would do to rectify this he said he would give me a 15% discount off finishing the job. That was not good enough for me since this was not our mistake. I hired an attorney who sent a demand letter. Blake's response was that we were what was wrong with the world..."wanting something for nothing." I found that very insulting. We are very generous and fair people. The attorney told us that we can pursue it but that in the end we could spend thousands if dollars and he might not even be collectible. We decided that peace of mind meant more than going through a legal battle. One professional that quoted us knows Blake and when he saw Blake's work he said that Blake knows better than that. I cannot attest to the quality of his work but his business practices are extremely poor. Btw...when we tried to communicate with him he would not call us back. He only responded after the attorney sent him a letter.

Never got photos, then appx 1 week later I asked for photos from manager and also asked for copy of permits pulled, still have seen neither, then I got a text stating inspector would be showing up the following day. The inspector came and said he could not sign off on the work because DM did not send him before and after so he can't tell what he is inspecting and he left telling me he would contact DM and needed to do nothing, that has to be appx 2-3 weeks and DM will not answer phone #704-830-7450 or emails

The owner, David…read moreStallings arrived and was very abrasive, however, that didn't deter me from using him because everyone doesn't have to have a sunny disposition, however, Great Customer service doesn't hurt. He was very dismissive in his communication. Ironically, he observed a political flag next to my property and it seems that he automatically assumed that I was complicit with my neighbor's political views (and I was), his attitude got even worse. His work was average, therefore, I paid him and after payment, I noticed him washing his tools and emptying the remnants of the concrete that he had used for my job onto my grass. I requested that he not do so, he stopped advising that it would not hurt my grass. I went back inside and then through my window, I observed him leaving my residence. I went outside to see that he had finished dumping the excess of concrete into my grass. I took his word, and did not attempt to irrigate the spot that he had dumped that waste. The next morning I awoke to see that the mixture had hardened and I had to dig the concrete waste up from where Stallings had dumped, totally reseeding the grass, it took months for that spot which was bald to grow back. My opinion is that Stallings saw the melanin on my skin and observed the political sign of my neighbor let his own prejudice skew his judgment, and instead of being a professional, he committed an egregious act as destroying a part of yard by dumping concrete waste onto my grass, which was totally uncalled for because I did nothing or said anything to him to even provoke him to do what he did. Stallings is unprofessional and should not be in business and if I had the time and extra money for an attorney, I would have sued him civilly for his egregious act. Stallings if you are in business...you are in business for EVERYONE and not just a select few...the color that should matter for any entrepreneur...is the color GREEN!!! If you all ask, WHY it took me so long to report him, well, I actually lost information and JUST found his information to report him!

We just completed an exterior waterproofing project with Sealtech, and they did an outstanding job…read more We couldn't be happier with Dani and his crew. Our issue involved a basement leak that required exterior waterproofing along the foundation wall, and it was one of the most challenging projects I've ever seen. Due to the location of the leak, much of the work had to be done by hand. The team carefully excavated along the side of our house and managed to protect and work around our HVAC units without requiring them to be removed and reinstalled. This was important to us because it would have added a lot of cost and we would have been without heat in the house for days. They installed a drain line at the base of the foundation, backfilled with gravel, applied a waterproof membrane and dimple board, and ran underground drain lines to the backyard that also tied into our gutter system. They were extremely careful while trenching in the backyard, finding existing cable lines, irrigation lines, and other utilities without damaging anything. When the job was complete, they thoroughly cleaned the area and made sure we were completely satisfied with the results. Communication with Dani (the owner) was excellent throughout the entire process. Unlike another company we considered, he never tried to upsell us or recommend unnecessary work. Their price was very fair and there were no surprises with the final bill. We truly appreciate their professionalism and would absolutely call them first for any future waterproofing needs.
