I had a 7am appointment. When I arrived, no one greeted me or checked me in. They had taken the clients that had already arrived and started on their appointments. There weren't enough stylists so I sat and waited 45 minutes once one of the stylists had completed another customer's blow out. This is completely unacceptable. I would've left, but my hair wasn't appropriate for work. Because of this extended delay, I was over an hour late for work. I missed a meeting and was late for another. When I asked the stylist the reason for the delay, she told me that they overbooked and there were more appointments than stylists. If this is true, it is completely unacceptable. Clients are paying a premium for fast and friendly service. I received neither. What is the point???? As I said no one greeted me when I arrived or acknowledged my existence. I don't need a red carpet rolled out or anything, maybe just a we'll be right with you? Something? Anything?? I didn't receive an apology for the lateness. I only got an explanation after asking. AND the stylist had me fill out the form for her that captures the products and tools she used on my hair. She also informed me that I'll have to do this for every appointment it's not just a one time thing. She explained it's something the company wants the stylists to do, but to save time she has her clients do it. Glad I'm paying for this. I'm completely disappointed with this experience and feel it was a waste of money and my time. read more

I was so excited when I learned a Drybar opened in the area, since I have heard such positive things about the company in general, and waited until a special occasion, my birthday, to try their services! Unfortunately, my experience was a disappointing one. I had scheduled a 2:00PM appointment, and I arrived just a minute or two late (gotta love that RT 17 traffic!) - nobody greeted me when I walked in, and I was left to stand awkwardly at the front. When I was acknowledged by a stylist, and told her I had an appointment, she seemed shocked and said there must have been an issue with the computer (I have the appointment confirmation in my email), and was told I could not be taken until 2:45. I had some errands to run in the mall, so while it wasn't awful - it was still an annoyance. When it was finally time for my appointment, I elected to have the Mudslide treatment and I can't believe it is an additional $20. The product was hardly in my hair for any time at all, and I received a very brief scalp massage. When I reminded the front desk (the stylist I originally spoke to, because the receptionist was missing again) upon the end of my blowout about the issue with my original appointment, all I received was a 'Sorry about that' - really? My blow-out overall was ok, but the two previous issues I mentioned really put a damper on things. I don't plan on coming back. read more

The blow out was the worst I've ever received. I wanted a straight blow out with my ends in, ended up with curly ends out. It was the worst. I had an absolutely terrible experience with this drybar location and would not recommend! I arrived to my scheduled appointment exactly 3 minutes late due to this being my first time to the NJ area and getting a bit lost. When I walked in, I apologized for my tardiness and explained I had driven hours to get there and was unfamiliar with the area. The receptionist assured me it was fine and not to worry. Just minutes later, I was rudely told they were not going to take me anymore because they were booked. Now, I have never heard of a salon that books their appointments so close together that just 3 minutes later and they absolutely cannot take you anymore. I also find it incredibly difficult to believe that there is no sort of grace period for a client arriving less than 5 minutes late to a nearly empty salon!! Not as if they were buzzing with customers... The two hairstylists working at the time were each just halfway done with their client's hair, and it was already 3 minutes into my appt, so seems that maybe they were behind on their end and found an easy target to bump out of their schedule. The multiple bad reviews of their repeated tardiness confirms to me this was probably the case. Naturally very upset and thrown off to be told this, I pleaded with the receptionist that I had a big event that night and had driven a long way, specifically almost 3 hours, to get to their drybar salon and to please honor my scheduled appt. She refused and made 0 amount of effort to try and help me. Those 3 minutes really must have flipped their whole schedule upside down. I was very upset but was ready to leave to find another salon ASAP when she informed me I would still be charged their $20.00 no-show fee! After expressing my frustration for their complete lack of customer service and understanding, the receptionist assured me that I would receive a call from their manager to dispute this $20 fee prior to taking action and charging my card. This was a flat out lie. Never got a phone call and sure enough the next day I was charged the no-show fee for an appointment I went to and was turned away. I have been to multiple drybar locations and have always had great experiences so I trusted that this would be a positive one as well. My mistake, I should have taken a look at their poor reviews and booked elsewhere from the start. read more

I just got my hair done for prom here and I was really excited about drybar because they are supposed to be the best at making perfect curls; although my curls looked great when she finished by the time I got to my car in the parking lot they had completely fallen. I told her to make them stick because I had a few hours until prom. My hair is also naturally wavy/curly so usually curls will stick no problem, which is why I was so disappointed. My hair didn't look bad but it didn't look curled at all. I have been dying for one of these to come across the bridge so I was there on the second day they opened. I have so much to say, but don't want to bore you with different parts, so I'm going to split it up into categories. The "Salon"- they try to fray away from the salon feel of things, and make it more cozy and homey. I was able to pick from a various amount of times available for a blowout online, which is very convenient. The salon itself is adorable, and is nicely decorated. I had to wait about 10 minutes for my stylist, but they offered me a drink and I got a water in a cute stemless wine glass. However, there was only a bench, and two chairs to sit, and a few people waiting so I had to stand. Where your hair gets washed its so comfy, it's like a couch and they you put your feet up. The overall feel of it was extremely cozy. My Stylist- Gertrude was my stylist. She was a sweetheart and sat me down, took my hair down, complimented my hair, and asked me what style I want. We went to wash my hair and I practically was in heaven. Her scalp massage was amazing and I feel like she used a few different products instead of just a shampoo and conditioner. Gertrude showed me the products she was using and explained how they are used and then began to blowdry. However, I could tell Gertrude was still in training, not that I'm saying it's a bad thing, but I could just tell. I still didn't mind because she took her time, didn't rush, and made sure all her steps were taken properly. I'm sure by the next time I see her she will have it down. What I also loved about Gertrude was that she was extremely gentle on my hair. I am so used to the blowouts that you are tugged and pulled in different directions, but she was so gentle on my hair! I saw the client next to me getting pulled all over while I wasn't being moved at all. It actually made the blowout relaxing. The only complaint I have is that I got the cosmo-tai style, and the curls were more prominent on my right side then the left, so it looked a little uneven. Products/Brand: I absolutely loooooooooooooooove the scent of my hair after the blowout. Plus I was worried with the products she used, that they would make my hair oily, but I was happily surprised. My blowout was airy and fresh. All the products are up for purchase and they also gave a complimentary gift bag for coming during the grand opening. Its worth 36 dollars! Then they also have the memberships. The blowout is 45, but for 30 bucks more you become a member. So I did that since I loved it so much. It's 48 hours after my blowout and yes, the blowout fell out a little, but I think I can get 3 days out of this blowout, even though I have oily hair. I came here today for a blowout and wasn't too happy with the result. The customer service is phenomenal at this location but I wish that my blowout was also. The girl who was doing my hair was very nice but she wasn't very knowledgable. I asked for old Hollywood style waves and my hair wasn't wavy at all. It ended up being curly in the front, wavy in the back and on the other side it was flat and straight. The stylist kept asking another person for advice on how to do the style and wasn't able to capture what I wanted at all. I was initially excited to try this place ever since I heard they opened one up in my area but I was disappointed. The salon itself was nice and clean and my blow out came out great but the girl who checked me in and out could have taken a customer service class. It was my first time here and it was my bday too. My husband gave me a groupon for a blow out and a bay breeze conditioning treatment. When I made the appt on the website I had to go back in to cancel and re-book bc I forgot to mention I had a groupon. I received confirmation that it had been cancelled. When I arrived I gave the girl my name and she said I had 2 appts in the system. I said I cancelled it and she was going on about how normally I would get charged since they didn't receive a cancellation. I was like okaaay. Not exactly the first thing I want to hear when I first walked in. But ok I get that it's your policy. However when I went to check out and pay for a product and gratuity, she mentions it AGAIN about how next time if I don't cancel I will get charged. Umm really lady?? And on top of that she charged my card $15 for tip by mistake when I asked to leave $12. I called the general dry bar # when I discovered the mistake and they took care of it but overall I was disappointed in my experience. Visited Drybar yesterday. Had such a great experience the staff was friendly and accommodating. I had to get my hair done for a party that night they really went above and beyond to make my hair gorgeous! I got so many compliments on my hair that day and still have curls the following day. I requested the cosmopolitan look. I was in the chair for about an hour from start to finish. The products are a bit pricey but you don't have to purchase it. It is not high pressure which is nice. The products smell really good. I arrived at 10:00 am and they where not busy yet so got a lot of attention. Will be returning to this location in the future. Because of cost will most likely only go for special events and maybe a date night. read more

I came in after purchasing a Groupon, I have never been to a Drybar before but was dying to try it. I had a brunch that day in the city, and thought this would be a perfect time to use it! I arrived about 10 minutes early and was quickly checked in. They offered me a beverage right away. They were really busy (it was a Saturday after all ). I did have to wait another 15minutes which felt like eternity !!! But as soon as I met with my stylist everything was smooth sailing. The shampoo was okay nothing to rave about. After my shampoo I sat in the chair, explained to the stylist what I was looking for. My end result was amazing. I had a Comso-tai. Perfect curls, perfect volume. She assured me that it would uphold through the humid summer weather! Sure enough it did! It was great. I wish I would have remember the stylists name she was great ! read more

I love the Drybar chain and have gotten my hair styled at several. I've been here twice and both times my hair came out fantastic (and my hair is really tough to style-thick, long, very curly, prone to frizz (type 3c curly)). Each time my hair looked great for several days, felt soft to the touch, and one time even lasted through hot humid weather (both here and in the South), several plain trips, and a loooong car ride. And of course, it smelled awesome too. My cousins have both gotten their hair done too (they have straight, can't even hold a shape hair) and it looked fantastic all day. My only peeve, when are they going to start serving wine???? read more

Awful result. Came here to look good for a wedding. The staff was extremely friendly but I looked ridiculous. Had to rush home and rewash and style my hair. My hair looked like a dry mess. I could never go out looking like that and it looked nothing like the picture from their style book. I just wanted the southern comfort and ended up with lumps of teased hair all over my head. I don't think I ever looked this bad. Save your money and go to a real salon. I wasted $50. I did read many bad reviews but thought how bad could a blow out be. Well pretty bad! I was so embarrassed having to walk out of there knowing how ridiculous I looked. I got home and my family was appalled. They said you can't go out like that, which I already knew. So what was supposed to be a relaxing afternoon turned out to be a stressful rush to get to the wedding on time and looking presentable. I honestly had no expectations for this place. The concept was a little confusing to me, but I wanted my hair done one day and just took a shot and booked an appointment. However, I keep leaving extremely happy! I have never liked a blowout on me before no matter who it was from. I always thought it was just me and my face shape or whatever it could be, it just didn't work. This place completely changed that. Terrible experience. I had to attend a wedding this past Saturday and had booked my 7:30AM appointment at least 6 weeks in advanced. I arrived at the store only to find the hair stylists sitting outside as their manager/operator had not arrived to open the store (supposed to open at 7AM). No one was able to give me a good idea of if or when the store would open at all, and after 45 minutes of waiting I left (thank goodness a local salon was able to fit me in for a quick blow out!) I was extremely disappointed with the customer service and received no apology from the Dry Bar company, just a "cancellation" email later that morning. I understand if circumstances out of their control happened that morning, but I was very disappointed with the way the situation was handled. read more

so I needed a blow out for an event over the weekend. I had heard about dry bar and figured I'd give them a try. I booked my appointment online and left a note letting them know I have thick curly hair so that they'd give me enough time and hopefully someone for the job. Well I got there and the girl who was going to be working on my hair took me to the back to get shampooed. She was super sweet and went over all the looks with me to pick out what I'd like. when I left my hair was still puffy and definitely was in need of more smoothing out and styling. While she was super sweet, she definitely wasn't used to hair like mine. After leaving and going to another salon for another blow out, I learned that 1- drybar ignores the notes people leave about their hair for the appointments, 2- the girl who did my hair doesn't normally work on curly hair. I don't blame her for the blowout but shame on drybar for not paying attention to notes. definitely will not be going back. much better places to go and you don't have to worry about the mall parking read more

First time going to dry bar for a blowout wanted to see what all the hype was about and i was very disappointed. Location and salon is very nice, great location. The problem I have with this place is that my hair looked muchh worse then before i started. My hair is straight and easy to blowout not frizzy not curly, I asked for a straightup with just a little curl at the bottom with volume (pretty easy) like what you get with a normal blow out. Well the girl next to me who started at the exact same time as me was only half way through her blowout when i was already done. My stylist took massive sections of hair and was trying to blow them out ?? Ive never seen this technique before but besides that her next client who she was obviously friends with came early and kept asking how much longer so i felt she completely rushed through my hair and at the end it looked awful. She put soo much product in my hair it looked greasy and my hair was soo frizzy i couldnt believe it especially when i have nice straight hair to begin with and my ends looked like i stuck my finger in an electrical outlet. Looked 10x worse then if i just did it myself. The stylist finished super quick and immediately took her friend next i had to ask another stylist to at least put something to smooth out my ends! Awful not worth 45$ plus tip. Maybe just a bad stylist idk if id even try a round 2 read more
