Blowout was fine, but I booked online and didn't realize it was charging the full amount of the appointment. I also paid at the appointment so two charges for the same day for one blowout processed on my credit card. I called 4 days later once I noticed and was told a manager wasn't onsite but they'd leave my name and number for the following day. That was 5 days ago and I haven't heard back or recieved a refund. I called again and was told the same thing about a manager not being a site and taking my name and number. Disputed the charge with my bank which is now an unnecessary long process because this place couldn't take 5 minutes to make it right. read more

MOST AWFUL EXPERIENCE:: BUYER BEWARE Would give a 0 if I were able to! I had the most awful experience at blo blow dry bar in Franklin lakes. I Went there for a dry hair style (curls) for an occasion where we were taking pictures. I have A LOT A LOT of hair. Like every hair stylist/ hair cutter has commented on how much hair and volume I have. Not more than 45 min after my appointment I left looking greasy (it's very hard for that to even happen to me, but I guess the products they use look greasy) And my curls were gone, my hair looked stringy and flat. Not sure what tools they use but they aren't professional I couldn't even believe how flat and gross it looked (it looked dirty). I was there for an hour and a half, and mind you I went in with dry hair not wet. I had to completely start over to fix it. I called them back 3 days ago. The manager there, Karina felt that I wasn't worth her time to get back to me. She left me an initial voicemail and told me she was free to talk to me all day Friday and every time I called the front desk girls would say oh she'll call you at this time and then she never would. I also asked for them to get her so that we could speak for 1-2 minutes. She refused because she was "too busy." I finally got a call back from a manager at another location From Eileen. I asked them for a refund since what they did to my hair was atrocious. They keep giving me the run around and even asked me to come back another time ( NO THANK YOU! ). Has anyone else had an experience like this there? I just can't believe how disrespectful they are there and also how awful my hair looked. Spread the word so this doesn't happen to you. I even went to look at reviews and I'm not the only one this had happened to. Looked like 10 other women had just around the same experience as mine. With how expensive things are these days I feel that it's unacceptable. Also kindness go ways further than rudeness. Eileen called me back with a very fake nice persona telling me that I won't be getting a refund and that I can come in and they will do my hair again. HA! no thanks! This is a great place to get your hair done for any occasion! I've gone in the past for a regular blow out with no special occasion in mind. It was nice, my hair looked much better than anything I could do myself. It's a great pick-me-up! Recently, I went to Blo with my mom and sister in preparation for attending a wedding. I made an appointment for all three of us the day before the event (last minute decision) and we were accommodated quickly. Everyone was good and nice when we were there. The stylists were considerate of the timing of our event and styled it a bit tighter, knowing our really fine hair would likely start to loosen up as the day and night went on. We are very happy with how it turned out. My mom got an updo. Her hair was first curled and then styled up. The stylist was flexible to incorporate a hair pin that my mom brought with her to match her dress. It looked great! At the end, they even brought us to our car with an umbrella since it was raining, which was a considerate touch. It is an affordable place compared to other places I've gotten my hair done. Other places have charged me separately for the blow dry and then curling my hair, so this was all in one reasonable price. I have frequented Blo Blow Dry bar in Franklin Lakes on more than one occasion. My services are always wonderful. The front desk always greets with a smile. I never wait long for my appointment. The shampoo is very relaxing and the different stylists have always left my hair looking fabulous. I know my hair, so I explain the texture to them and that I probably need a bit of product to hold my curls. They always have great recommendations and I often buy the products. I even use the shampoo and conditioner at home! They have given me suggestions to help my curls last that have worked well (put your hair on top of your head "like a pineapple" before bed). I am not sure if it was my specific stylist, but I did not have a good experience. I went there for hair styling before my bridal shower. My hair took almost 2 hours for just a blowout, simple curls, and two pieces pinned back. The hair fell our after 1 hour (curls and pins) and my pictures had pieces of hair misplaced. I am not sure why only two bobby pins were used to hold the style. It just seemed like the stylist may have been inexperienced. I indicated on my appointment the "custom updo" selection from their menu to ensure they knew i wasn't just looking for a blow-out. Then we got to makeup with the same stylist. I showed a picture of a natural look and it took about 15 minutes for her to even find the makeup in the station. She looked very confused about where to start. I said that I would like something light and natural. She put a dark brown all over my lid using an eyeliner brush and then attempted to put a pigmented darker pink on my highlight under the eyebrow. Then used a makeup wipe to take it all off to start over. Then put the dark brown back on. Then I told her that wasn't what I was looking for and she asked me to show her. I ended up leaving without my makeup done and did my own. I have never done that in my life and it was honestly very nerve racking. I gave 2 stars because the scheduling process was easy and it was hard to find a place open on a Sunday. Called on June 9th at 10:12am, and scheduled an appointment for Sunday Father's Day. Apparently they didn't decide if they were open or closed 11 days in advance. Once they decided that they were closed my appointment wasn't scheduled and no one called me. They even took my credit card to hold the date. And they can compensate me by doing my hair the day before. But no make up. Great compensation! Just empty apologies telling me everyone makes mistakes. One star is too much for this place. Let me first start by saying this is my first time here and the location is nice. I was unable to wash or dry my hair myself because of a hand and wrist surgery. I desperately wanted to just feel human again and have my hair washed and styled. I am 56 years old and have been getting my hair done by many different places for obviously a long time. The girl that did my hair did not know what she was doing. She was hesitant slow and pointed me away from the mirror so I could not see what she was doing. I had dents in my hair from the clips. The front of my hair ; long bangs were pushed back like a granny. When I asked her to fix the bangs she just wanted to curl them with a curling iron. she had no clue how to blow out a side part. I have hair below my shoulders and usually wear it and beachy waves. The waves she gave me made me look like little orphan Annie. The front of my hair - nothing could be done with it it just flopped after I pulled it out of the granny look. I was horrified, mad and so upset that I came here just wanting to look pretty and I looked horrible. I voiced this to the stylist and the girl at the front desk who said I looked good. I just wanted to get the hell out of there which I did. They took some money off the price since I didn't want to pay anything but it was still too much. They did offer to re-wash my hair and start over but I didn't have another hour I was supposed to be meeting my husband for lunch. What an absolutely awful horrible lame unprofessional Experience. I came across this new blow dry bar and decided to give it a chance. I was SO happy with how my hair and make up turned out and everyone who has seen my engagement photos tells me how great my hair looked! This place is definitely my new go-to spot for blow outs! I had a terrible experience at this location. I got lost on my way there. Seven minutes after my appointment they called me. I expressed to them that I was lost and asked someone at the location to give me directions. The woman on the phone told me that she could not because "she is not from there." I asked if someone else was able to give me directions, and the response I got "No, because all the stylists are with clients right now." I told the woman on the phone that I will use a different navigation system and am on my way. AT NO POINT WAS I TOLD THAT I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO KEEP MY APPOINTMENT. I got to the right location at 9:15 and was told that the only service they can offer my was "dry blow." I informed them that my hair has product in it and I would not be able to get a dry blow out and that I needed a hair wash as well. I stood in front of her in my hospital scrubs, explaining to her that I need to get this done before I get to work because I had a wedding to attend in the afternoon. She asked me if I could come back at 11:30 and I again reminded them that I will be at work at that time. It was then that I was informed that they would not be able to help me and turned me away. I was appalled by the type of customer service I received at this location and will not be returning here. I was able to get the service I needed in 10 minutes at a different salon, only to see that I was charged $25 charge for my appointment. I gave the store manager an opportunity to address the issue on the phone and to have the $25 charge removed. Instead, she argued with me and insisted that they tried to accommodate me, even though none of the offered options were feasible for me. And she refused to waive the $25 fee. I am extremely disappointed at the lack of customer service. I was a first time customer, who had a 9am appt and drove to them in the rain and got lost on the way. They have no concept of customer service. Not only will I not be returning here, I will make sure no one I know is subjected to this treatment. read more
