Y'all! This was my very first Drybar experience, all thanks to my daughter :) She booked our appointment today because she is a regular and goes almost every week to her dry bar in Denver. So I was excited when she invited me today! And now I am hooked. When we arrived the reception area was a little busy but I was greeted within a few minutes and the receptionist were super friendly. I waited about 12 minutes for my stylist to come get me from the waiting area. We started off with my hair being brushed and then we went to the washing bay where my stylist washed my hair and massaged my scalp. It felt so good!!! You can do an add-on, 15-minute massage, but you need to book that when you make the reservation. When she was done washing we went to the dry bar area and my stylist brought me a water and a small glass of champagne Your stylist will then style your hair based on the signature style you most like. I did a combination of Cosmo in Southern comfort. It looks so nice!! She did exactly what I asked for . I cannot wait to go back. I just wish there was a location closer to Georgetown. That's definitely a franchise investment opportunity. But until then, I will be making some frequent trips to the domain. read more

I have been coming to Drybar for a year and a half now and even have a barfly membership. I get at least 1 to 2 blowouts a month there and at other locations across the US when I travel for work. However, I have had an inconsistent experience, both in the quality of the blowout, and in the amount of time it takes to blow my hair out. I have most times had blowouts within the allotted time with some stylists, and also experienced on occasion other stylists taking more than the allotted time. Ever since the new policy rolled out, it was suggested to me twice (once by DryBar Domain) that I needed an extended time blowout, which I would understand if 100% or even most of my blowouts took longer than the allotted time to complete. This most recent suggestion happened via text ahead of my appointment today. I made it clear that I was not available earlier to come in than the time I booked and that I've had 45 minute blowouts before and that I can blow dry and straighten my own hair in 45 minutes. They charged me for the extended blowout time anyway. I didn't want to push the issue at checkout since another woman had melted down at them about being late or something to her appointment (her own fault). I went back to check my transaction receipts for against my appointment times and accounting for the few minutes I usually have to wait for the stylist to come get me and the time that it takes to ring me up, I see that most appointments in 2025 have been completed in about 45 minutes. I have screenshots of all of this. For example, on 8/13, my appt was at 10:00 and my transaction was completed at 10:46 but on 9/6 my appointment was at 4:00 and transaction completed at 5:11. Inconsistent lengths of time. Another one that I recall is one that took a few minutes for me to be seen on 7/12. Appointment time was 4:45 and the order transaction took place at 5:40. This is 55 minutes but doesn't reflect the time I waited or the time it takes for the receptionist to apply credits before payment. Yet another appointment on 6/10 was at 3:30 with a Crown Tonic add-on (10 additional minutes). The order transaction was completed at 4:27 - 57 minutes right on time. On 4/12, I had an appointment at 5:30 and the Crown Tonic add-on (again, builds in extra 10 minutes), the transaction occurred at 6:23. Again, when you factor in wait time and transaction time at the reception, this is within the allotted time. More often than not, my hair is completed in 45 minutes but occasionally there have been stylists who have taken longer -- this, however, is a skill and/or training issue, not an issue for me to swallow in the form of an added fee. As a mixed woman with medium texture (not coarse) hair thanks to my mother's indigenous heritage, my hair only takes ME 45 minutes to blow out and straighten with an iron so I would expect someone trained in hair to do it faster. My regular stylist who does my cuts (by the way, NOT a woman of color at a high-end salon) can do my blowout, flat iron, AND cut/trim in under an hour and gives me a thorough head scrub and shampoo. This most recent blowout at DryBar left me with residue and dry flakes visible on the front of my hairline. My stylist also did not use good technique (which I've seen with my cut stylist for years) for blowing out my hair to get it straight more efficiently, which means she's repeated going over 1 section with heat, which could lead to more damage. If I can blow dry a section straight in 1-2 passes, why can't the stylists? Of course it will take 15 extra minutes to do -- again, I can blow dry my hair out straight (before flat iron or iron) in about 20-25 minutes. All of this is to say that I will be canceling my Barfly membership and will not be back after being a regular and nor will I be recommending DryBar to my black and mixed friends, primarily due to what I believe is an inherently discriminatory policy in the Extended Time policy (coming from corporate) which disproportionately affects women of color (sure, some white women with LONG hair also get penalized but let's be real). I went to DryBar to have the experience of someone else doing my hair in occasion with this shift, I'm going to do my hair myself or find another blowout bar. P.S. Also, I've recently trimmed off 3 inches from just past shoulder length hair (when straight) in the last few months and I've had hair loss issues over the last 2 years so I don't have "thick", or "long" hair at all to contend with. read more

I would advise caution with joining their monthly membership. They refused to use my membership credit, and posted charges to my credit card after I had left that I hadn't authorized. Management is atrocious - they refused to even try to explain what the unauthorized charges are for. I was visiting Austin for work the other week and decided to book a same day wash & blow out so that I could leave my hair tools at home. Not only did this location have same day availability, but I arrived about 30 mins early for my appointment and was willing to wait however they got me into a chair right away! Both the receptionist and my stylist, Anna, were incredibly kind. I shared a couple nuanced things about my hair with Anna and she was 100% receptive. I had my hair styled by Jessi at the DryBar at the Domain. she was AWESOME! She listened to me. She let me show her photos and then confirmed what I wanted. She nailed it! I have to admit I was a little skeptic because she appeared so young, but she was extremely strategic in the steps she took to wash, blow dry and style my hair. She knew exactly what she was doing. my appointment was at 2:15. My event started at 6. My hair stayed ALL night and I received so many compliments. I will definitely go back to her! I loved my blow dry and the people here were so nice. Easy enough parking given there are so many lots to choose from but it's a walk so if it's raining it a tough location. Unfortunately, I had a horrible experience. I made a reservation for the Mai Tai (beach hair style) for my wedding day. The hairstylist just flat ironed my hair and it was so flat and lifeless. It was my wedding day! :( I had to go visit a salon for them to fix what she did wrong. I still tipped the Drybar stylist 20%. I will never go back. Ever. If you would like an amazing blowout, I highly recommend the DryBar at the Domain. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Be very cautious if using a gift card from them. I used a gift card a friend bought at the location which ended up proving the incapableness of the system and employees here. Gift card was not activated and I was charged not once but twice on my own credit card. At checkout the person at the desk repeatedly asked me if I wanted to add a tip and after even the person who bought the gift card called to try and fix it to no avail, the problem still isn't fixed. Does that deserve a tip? Even a charge? Please fix whatever this system is and your employees attitude. read more

I really love Dry Bar. It's so easy to get to right across from the purple garage in the Domain (free, ample parking). The staff here is so friendly and upbeat, from the moment I walk in. I am instantly greeted with a smile and offered a beverage. They give such a great massage during shampoo and are skilled at getting my kinky curls to relax for a totally sleek straight do. I did ask about heat protection for my hair and they told me I can always ask that they pay attention to that because they do have a great product line that they can use during your session. The my have really affordable monthly membership plans with tons of free add-ons so I recommend the Barfly membership to get the most bang for your buck. read more

I decided to treat myself with a blowout at Drybar. When I walked in, I was welcomed with warm greetings and I was also offered water or champagne. I chose the champagne, of course. I asked for the style "Cosmo-Tai", which is a mix of complete and loose curls. Bailey, a senior stylist, did an amazing job with my hair. She is very talented, skilled, and wonderful company to have--- I would recommend her to anyone! The only downside during my visit was that the salon ran out of hair spray so I had to do that part myself after the appointment. I was very happy with the end result that I did not mind doing this small step on my own. I left the salon with beautiful hair and a wonderful experience. Service was okay. I have never been up charged this much from any other dry bar I've been to. I have curly hair and leave that in the notes anytime I book a service, and each time I've had my hair finished in one hour. I was charged an extended 30 minutes twice, when she only serviced my hair for an additional 30 minutes mot an hour. I was charged double then what I am normally charged for at any other location I've been to. Definitely not worth it for my roots to still be frizzy after up charging me an additional $60, for this price I shouldn't have to go home and touch up my hair. Would not return or recommend this location, I've never had any problems with Dry bar before. read more

I have been a weekly customer - barfly member of this dry bar for over 10 months and I absolutely LOVE this place. The stylists there are top notch! They are always on time at taking my appointments. I can call out Nohley, Z, and Ruby whom have done my hair numerous times and all are fabulous with the round brush, and curlers and pins, it's amazing what they can do. I have hard to handle very textured hair and my hair leaves beautiful every time. Shout out to this place and the lovely ladies who style the hair and who greet at the reception desk. read more

My stylist was fine, but the front desk manager tacked on extra charges after the fact. My hair was twisted out of my face, and the desk manager wanted to call it a "braid" with an extra charge. She told me I was lucky I wasn't being charged for a half up-do, and that I was lucky the stylist had "had time" to twist my hair. The stylist spent approximately 17 minutes on me, and it was supposed to be a 30-minute appointment. Also, I was never offered water or anything else. Drybar Domain blows! I've been a power Drybar customer over the past couple years, having gotten dozens of blowouts at locations throughout California and Texas. My two visits at the Drybar Domain stand in such stark contrast to the others that I'm surprised the brand hasn't shut down this location yet. Echoing other poor reviews about rough handling, my stylist during my second visit not only yanked my locks during the shampoo and dry, but set the heat so high that it burned my skin and scalp, requiring me to hold back tears and cover my neck with a towel. She used the highest heat setting to expedite a 45-60 minute blowout down to 20 minutes, and couldn't hide her irritation at being interrupted by whatever she had been doing in the back room. During my first visit at the Domain location, my stylist, although very sweet, went on an angry rant about her opinion of abortion during the majority of the appointment. It made me deeply uncomfortable and took away from what was supposed to be a relaxing experience. Given this and other reviews, I would continue to try other Drybar locations but give this one a hard pass. Oh, and a quick note to the business owner - please do not DM me or add a conciliatory comment beneath this review. You had your chance to resolve this issue after I provided feedback in the Drybar customer survey about my horrific experience. No response or gesture to make things right! Peace out. read more

Extremely disappointed! I don't know where to begin because it was such an incredibly frustrating, aggravating and disappointing experience. I hate giving one stars to businesses, especially in a time like this but I had to give it some time before writing a review, not only to calm down, but to see it in a more sensible light and give it time to see if they'd do anything. I came in because I had an event to go to the next day. My curls/waves typically last over a week and to be safe, I wanted to book the day prior to give it time to soften the curls as it takes a few days that my hair looks its best after a blowout. So I walk in the shop with my sister and the first receptionist was cool & nice. She books us for the first available time. So I was excited. Seemed like this was gonna be great! We were waiting around the corner at a coffee shop and came in about ten min prior to Appt time. I was booked with the stylist Olivia. She seemed nice. Not very genuine when I look back in hindsight but I dont care, I was excited for my hair. It seemed as if I was just another number, she lacked any interest any engagement. Just def not the type of experience I'm used to especially with beauty businesses. I have been contemplating on doing drybar for awhile. I love my guy Eddy who does my hair (he's exceptional btw) but I wanted to be able to go out of state too and drybar has a membership with location flexibility. During the hairstyling, I noticed, she was NOT putting in much styling cream: hair protectant, hair smoothing cream/oils, hairspray. I even called her out & said, "my hair is colored, did you put hair protectant? It gets dries out & frizzes" She said yes she did. But even my sister noticed. My sister & I were talking while she was doing it but idk. I've done my hair before with my other hairstylist often and not used to lack of products. I let it go, thinking that maybe their products were different or maybe it was just their way of doing it & it'll still come out good. I was open minded because I only go to one guy & have only had a few blowouts from others & have never had a bad experience so I was like, "Ok just different ways to do things-shes the professional" They charged me $20 extra since I had extensions in. That was ridiculous to me, but Taylor said that's the rules & no budging. My hair is thinner than the average hair & I have extensions cuz of hair loss from lupus. So honestly that sounded a bit wrong. For putting in hair extensions, I understand. For thick hair, I understand. But that didn't make sense to me. I asked to speak to the manager but the host Taylor said she absolutely couldn't get in touch with her because she was out for the day. So I was just like whatever, I'll pay up & be on my way. Just happy it was done. The hairstyle itself came out okay but nothing like my eddy does. Only a few hours later, I noticed my curls came out. It was late as I did my appt at 3:30pm and it took an hour and a half, so I knew they'd be closed & decided that I'd just call them in the morning. The next day (2nd pic included for reference), it looked terrible. Dry, ugly. Just disappointingly sad hair. I didn't have time that day but my sister urged me to go in & complain as I already was going to go to my event with terrible hair. So we went in asking for a redo. Taylor the receptionist immediately had a negative attitude. Very defensive, lacked compassion & not once did she apologize. I came in very kind & midway got really annoyed because she was absolutely unhelpful. I asked to speak to the manager and she actually phoned her-& walked to the back! Not in front of me! Talk about shady business! Funny I thought the manager couldn't be reached yesterday? She was out yesterday & today... you couldn't ask her about the extension up charge yesterday? The manager she says she talked to is Madison. Who seemed absolutely unhelpful & not caring at all. They told me to call the customer service line. FYI the "customer service" line is an offshore virtual assistant because this company is cheap & lacks etiquette, class and basic business common sense, practice and understanding. It has been quite awhile since I've had such a tremendously disrespectful, rude & terrible terrible experience especially from a place that caters blowouts in an upperclass region. To be as fair as possible, I'll include the positives: Olivia the stylist was nice. Not engaging or genuine seeming but nice. The location couldn't be more perfect. We were at a nearby coffee shop while waiting and you have plenty to do, they even reserve parking spots for you. The drybar facility itself is clean and beautiful. But the positives don't make up for it at all because I'd give a negative negative if I could. read more

10/10! I've had blow outs other places before but the customer service here is impeccable. I have very long, curly hair and there is A LOT of it, it's no easy task to blow out. Every time I've come to DryBar in The Domain I am met with so much love. Though I need the extra time on my hair, they always make me feel so worthy. In my most recent visit, Zacaira and Cory left me feeling well prepared for my small wedding the next day. They made sure I left with the knowledge and products to keep my blow out perfect for my wedding day. Outstanding service, wonderful staff and 10/10 recommend for any occasion! read more

I have a lot of hair...so the Drybar is my fairy godmother. I've been to a few locations over the last few months - and I love the Domain location. Parking is super easy, since it's right by one of the garages. I like the 8am time slot to maximize the fact that my hair looks amazing all day long (and for days to follow). I've never had a bad experience there, and have always had great stylists. I got atleast twice a month, sometimes more. I actually go again tomorrow!! read more

Drybar has been one of my favorites for my hair specially the Cosmo (curls). I had a membership when in Miami and I had a membership here in Austin that I just canceled because Drybar decided they need to make more money and they decided to steel your money right on your face. CHARGING $15 per fifteen past 45 minutes of service. Ridiculou. First, not everyone has the same hair length nor same hair thickness, add to that the time you have to wait when you arrive to your appointment how many minutes you have to wait to be brought back for your shampoo, add the time the girl uses to clean the station where she washed your hair plus the time she uses to chit chat with a coworker in the back if there's one. On top of that not all the girls work at the same pace. It will be more fair to Drybar and the customers if they change the prices of the service or the membership for whom hast it based on short, medium or long hair instead of by the minute. I found this dry bar a year before i decided to split my time between Austin and another state. I have yet to find another salon as good as the DRYBAR AT THE DOMAIN. I book ahead every few months when I fly in. Love the consistency, cleanliness and on time of this place. I use a few girls there and have not been disappointed. When I first went to this location, I wasn't thrilled with the commute as I live 40 min away. But I soon realized it was so worth it because the blowouts were always amazing. Then COVID hit and I think they definitely had some turnover in staff. Since then the blowouts have been average and this last one was horrible! He did not get what I wanted at all. I had a very important event that I had been looking forward to for months and I cried because my hair looked horrible. This place has really gone down unfortunately. I might try your other location in Austin but I don't have high hopes. I do think there are good stylists in there but I never seem to get them. I've been getting the new hires that have no business doing hair. If I were Alli Webb, I would almost shut down this location, or clean house. I would not want my name associated with this.
