Matt and his wife came to my home and solved our issues in a very professional manner. Matt himself was extremely courteous, knowledgeable, friendly and he even identified further issues in my home than what were originally discussed over the phone and quickly solved them. Our home had been having issues with laundry in that our dryer was taking 60-80 minutes to dry our clothes and was (obviously) shrinking some of them. This hadn't happened before in our previous home, so we got to googling and found out that we needed our dryer vent and ductwork cleaned. Matt did a great job of doing so and brought our bird flap on the roof up to code as well, which is something our builder didn't do. Now, our dryer actually dries our clothes and in a normal timeframe and our dryer doesn't give us an error code anymore. Husband and wife team. Very professional, and showed up on time. They did a phenomenal job on fixing our dryer vent, and diagnosed the issue that was causing our vent to clog with lint. It turns out that a screen was left on top of our vent when the house was built. This screen is supposed to be removed if it's being used as a dryer vent. Yelpers to the rescue! I researched lots of companies and none of them sounded like a good choice until I read the reviews on the Dryer Vent Doctor. That's all they do - they only clean dryer vents. I didn't want a hard sell and have all the HVAC vents cleaned too. We have killed 2 heating elements on the dryer (thank goodness for extended warranties!). We didn't know if it was the dryer or if the dryer vent was blocked. After seeing how much lint was in the dryer from the last repair, I started researching dryer vent cleaning companies. Matt and his wife were very courteous and placed shoe protectors on whenever they walked in the house. Matt used binoculars to look at the dryer vent that was on venting out the roof of our 3-story house. Who knew that the dryer vent was up there? The dyer vent was so blocked that the venting had water in it. Matt and his wife replaced the dryer vent (dryer to the wall), cleaned the inside of the dryer and cleaned out the vent (wall to the roof exhaust). The amount of lint was incredible (incredibly gross). The dryer now dries a normal load in less than 50 minutes rather than 1.5 hours. I liked their service until our dryer stopped heating the day after they came to replace our duct work. They didn't even offer to come look to see if they messed something up. They instead blamed us for the original ductwork being so dirty that they heating element probably broke. It was totally fine the day before they came so no I don't buy this. The owner Matt came out to my home today and gave a quote for service to install a vent (way over priced at almost $1K). We chose not to work with his company and then he charged my wife a $50 service fee that was not noted anywhere on their website or prior to coming. Unfortunately, I was not there so my wife paid. The husband and wife Doctor Vent duo, Matt and Alex, did a wonderful job of changing out my old flex dryer vent to a hard vent that met code in my 20 year old home. Matt also showed me where I had a fire hazard with the supposed dryer vent that I bought at Home Depot and replaced that for me too. The work was done on the 29th of December, 2016. Let me say upfront. That this gentleman's rates were a lot higher than I expected. But since I'd never dealt with anyone replacing a dryer vent, I really had no reference basis to compare his rates too. That said, I still decided to use his services, because he was very thorough in assessing the problem. He found out that the dryer in our home since it is not on an outside wall was actually venting into our attic. Yes, let me say that again, it was venting into our attic. 19 plus years of lint flying into your attic. I my case, it didn't bother me, but it did explain why my wife's allergies would go nuts, when we were drying clothes or just after that. Because some of that wet, moist, clothes lint was leaching back into the house. Our home builders were crappy and took a lot of shortcuts, but we did not know about this one, at the time. He explained what he was going to do, what materials that he would use and how he was going to do it. He cut as small a hole as possible into the roof, then put new solid metal piping, instead of the corrugated aluminum type paper vent pipe that had actually torn within the walls. So that old vent pipe was leaking lint directly into our walls, which could help a fire spread quickly. Took him about two hours to complete the work, with the assistance of his wife. I like family businesses, and he was quite thorough. I would use him again and recommend him to anybody. Because you don't think about an older dryer vent until the house is on fire, or you just can't breathe anymore. I am please, even though my wallets hurts a little. I had contacted the dryer vent doctor back in April 2017 to clear bird nest from my 2nd story dryer. Matt installed a vent guard and he cleared out the dryer exhaust and I thought that was the end of it. One month later I happen to look out and see that my vent guard is completely covered up with dryer lint which is a fire hazard. I called Matt back, left 1 message, kept calling back but could no longer leave a message due to voice mail being full. Needless to say I never got a return call back and had to have another company come out and cut big holes in the vent guard so the lint wouldn't build up in it. It's unprofessional for a company to not be accessible by phone for several weeks at a time At least leave a message on the voice service saying why you are not available. read more

He surveyed the situation and explained that the vent cover was not the proper one and that the flexible tube used 3 years ago during a home renovation was inexpensive and flammable. I decided that it's well worth the money to prevent a potential fire in my home and to install the proper exhaust system. Arrived within the appointment window and within 5 minutes had identified our problem and clearly explained the solution - when we had our roof replaced, the roofers replaced the vent on the roof but did not remove a screen which clogged and completely blocked our dryer vent. Because of all the good reviews, I had chosen Dryer Vent Doctor to clean my vents. Tried for nearly 1 month to reach them. The phone number given just goes to a VM that says the mailbox is full. I sent a request to them via their website to call me to schedule their service. Four weeks later, I give up. Either they have gone out of business and didn't have the courtesy to let people know via a VM announcement, and/or their website, or they have taken an extended vacation and didn't have the courtesy to let people know via a VM announcement and/or their website. Had a problem with dryer vent and exhaust where the outer door wouldn't close and we were getting condensation in dryer. They came in and quickly discovered a nest in the vent which was passing through the attic. They cleaned the vent, refitted the dryer connection in the laundry room and replaced the exhaust outside. *update to my update* The owner called me back and explained his friend has passed away and the business was shut down for a week. That is why I was unable to get in touch with him. The biggest reason his company isn't getting 5 stars is due to education. I am not in the dryer vent business and I feel as an expert Matt should've advised me of what could happen after my dryer vent cleaning. That's why I was so upset. The dryer stopped working and he was unreachable (understandable now). Small things can make a big difference. Even updating the voicemail or website for the week to say the business is closed temporarily due to an emergency. I recommend Matt's company. They were on time and they cleaned my clogged dryer vent. I will use them again. I just recommend more of a convo after the dryer is cleaned about what can happen. read more

Just bought a house, when we moved in we noticed our clothes weren't drying efficiently, and we have never had trouble with our dryer, called this company to check it out, arrived on time (on a Sunday!) our dryer vent leading out of the house was completely clogged, looks like the previous owner didn't take care of it, they cleaned it all out, including bees and a birds nest and put a new cover on it, all within a couple hours-- and it was worth the money!
