I am starting to question my decision to stay or go and find a new Hvac company. Had a new unit put in one year ago and now it a problem with it. I just read a review and the response from the owner stated that by choosing to go with a new unit they will and would recommend everything that need to be changed in a new installation so they would have to come back do to problems in the near future. Well that haven't been the truth in my case. One year later and it's not working properly. Mr. Owner... Go figure ! That was a big fat lie!!! read more

Stopped using them after 10 years when one of the maintenance men and a salesman put on a dog and pony show, trying to scare me into buying a new heating unit. My units are old, but they still work. When the technician came out to check everything, he shows me his testing machine that says the carbon monoxide level is 2 ppm. Not knowing much at that time, I asked him what it should be, and he said 0. So he immediately gets a salesman on speaker phone (after he had told me that he knew the salesman would be available), and he says to the salesman, "her carbon monoxide level is 2 ppm." The salesman says, "oh, that's dangerous. She needs a new unit right away. I can come out this afternoon." I told him that I wasn't available, and he actually started to get kind of aggravated with me for delaying it. I subsequently did some research, and it turns out that it was all a lie! 2 ppm is normal in most households; actually, it's very low and nothing to be concerned about. So instead of simply saying to me, your unit is old and it could go out at any time, they had this whole deceitful sales strategy planned. I know they've done it before, because I've read it in other reviews. Plus, a different Precision salesman whom I had used before specifically stated to me in a text message when I told him what had happened that, "it's not dangerous, but..." I called another AC and heating company who came out and gave me a quote on a new unit - the salesman for this 2nd company was disgusted by Precision's dog and pony show and reiterated that it is not dangerous; the Precision technician and salesman were in fact trying to pull one over on me. Fortunately, after being a trial lawyer for over 30 years, I can pick up on games pretty quickly. These idiots chose the wrong customer to try and deceive into a sale. So if dishonesty and deceit are what you're looking for, then this is your company. Personally, I could never trust them again after they lied to me and pulled this stunt. read more

This is exactly a year later and an update to my 5 start review last year for another place. This experience was a 180 to me. Based on my experience last year, I recommend Gary as your project manager. I do not recommend Cody. I don't feel the role is for him. I work in account/project management so when I deal with other people in a similar capacity, I don't give any benefit of the doubt. It's not a hard job. Its communication and time management. It's a repetitive job which makes it easy, boring but not hard. If you are inconveniencing me which was this entire process (minus techs) when I am paying you thousands of dollars for a product and a service, I'm pissed. My mistake was that I didn't tell them to transfer me to Gary or another project manager or I would have someone else install. This rating is not reflecting on any of the technicians as I have only had great experiences with them. I felt they were knowledgeable, clear and finished the job. They do stand behind their 24 hours (holidays etc) whether you had a contract or not. Project management After emailing my initial availability, I was asked for a date that was not in the list which I then provided the same list over again. I had to continuously follow up with Cody asking to confirm to no confirmation. They have a CRM system so I have no idea why they don't push a button to send a confirmation email with pricing, terms, paperwork, etc to sign. I called the office but the call number does not have the project management install information on file which is a miss. They are the same company and they know when you purchased units so systems are connecting somehow. After a week back and forth, I finally had someone confirm the day before my appointment at 7pm that yes it was scheduled for tomorrow. Thankfully I was working remote and nothing changed with my family responsibilities. Unit They have multiple options which have changed from last year. I understood pricing would go up and had no concerns. However I did want to understand the differences in units. For one there was a mistake on my downstairs unit size. When I followed up with the project manager, I got an answer that I was correct but the paperwork had the work information. No further details were provided that it was a typo or if the recommended unit was wrong. I went with installing one unit due to the wild increases in prices in the last 1-6 years. I had planned to install another with Precision later which is TBD. When the techs arrived they showed me the EcoNet and I immediately told them I don't want that. I already had thermostats. They did not communicate that it was required with this unit. Instead I was told by the project manager that this was a component to help AC technicians to troubleshoot issues not that it would be replacing anything already purchased or installed. During the install, which took 10 hours, it did not serve to help troubleshoot. Instead two other techs came out to get it running which is fine but I thought this EcoNet was to communicate additional information. This unit thermostat apparently will not work with anything else and the thermostat barely seems to work itself. It also comes automatically scheduled for 85 degrees during the day which makes no sense. If they had communicated EcoNet as a requirement / sole option, I would have said to install the value or economy unit today or another day. Now I have a non-smart unit installed wasting 5 star (Apple) thermostats faces costing $400 that cannot be returned for a 1 star (Apple) EcoNet thermostat/app that doesn't work in multiple settings and messes up with wifi/routing. I don't understand how this is "premium" or why they would sell this in the first place. If you know a component is a problem for consumers, why would you not communicate that or not sell something that would be a problem? I don't even want the unit that was installed because it does not work the way I wanted or was communicated to me. Now I'm concerned about them installing anything else. The unit paperwork, as noted, may or may not be correct and I definitely don't want this EcoNet mess for my other unit. All of these issues could have been avoided with better communication and project management. read more

This company is the biggest joke. The wheel in one of our furnaces went out. Precision quoted us for a new motor and fan for $1152. They also advised that if I signed up for a monthly maintenance plan, I would be eligible for a discount bringing the total to $991.50. I felt that this was probably a high quote but agreed since it was 95 degrees and the long Labor Day weekend was coming up in a few days. The tech assured me they would order the parts as quickly as possible and hurry to complete the repairs. The next afternoon I received a call because they were trying to order the parts, but the tech forgot to note the Serial No. of the unit and needed me to go to the unit and take a picture of the number. I was disappointed that they were just now getting around to ordering the part and the house was sweltering. Later that day, they called to schedule the repair for the next late afternoon. I was ecstatic that I would soon have air. The next morning, they called and said that they had made a mistake in their original quote 2 days ago and the parts would be an addition $500 and needed my credit card number again before they could order. They STILL had not even ordered the parts after losing 2 days! We called Reliable and they came out later that morning and confirmed that it only needed a new wheel, not a motor and had the part picked up in installed by 3pm that same day. Their total bill was $500 and our ac has worked perfectly for a few weeks now. I called Precision to request a refund of the $991 minus the diagnostic charge. They tried to only refund a portion of the amount saying the tech had replaced a part while he was here. I explained that the technician was in my house for no more that 6 minutes and certainly did not perform any sort of repairs or replace any parts. They confirmed this with the technician and apologized and confirmed they would issue the refund minus the diagnostic charge (which they did in a timely manner). The next day, I receive a notification that my card was charged a new charge of $17.38 by Precision "Maintenance". I called to request a refund since I had cancelled the maintenance plan on both units and maintenance had never been set up or completed. It took 2 more phone calls to speak with another person in accounting who agreed and confirmed that I would see the $17.38 refund on card in a few days. I thought that was the end of it until I received ANOTHER person in accounting (Catherine) saying that the diagnostic fee I paid was the discounted amount if I had the maintenance plan. So not only would I not be receiving the refund, they needed my card to charge an additional diagnostic fee at the non-discounted amount. The first person I spoke with about the repair refund originally had told me (without me requesting) that they would bill the diagnostic fee at the discounted rate due to the inconvenience. Now I'm being told I will not be receiving a refund for the maintenance that was never performed on either of my units. Dealing with Catherine is downright unbearable, so I'll be contacting my credit card company going forward. I'm absolutely appalled at the customer service I have received for their errors, especially Catherine. read more

Upon waking up this morning I realize that my house was not cooling properly. After googling a bit based on the reviews I decided to give precision a call. When I called I told them what issue I was having and I was told that there had been a recent cancellation and that I could fill the spot if need be. That was music to my ears after being hot and frustrated. They got me hooked up for an appointment ASAP and Scotti my technician arrived on time. He was professional and a delight to deal with as well as he had my home cooling properly and advise me what the issues were and what to look out for in the future. I am extremely pleased with my experience and I will continue to use them in the future. read more

Precision Heating and Air does all my annual maintenance. This year they found some issues with my upstairs furnace. Josh my technician laid out the problems and worked up an estimate to have those issues fixed. What I asked for was an estimate to complete the repairs/rebuild he was recommending and a replacement on just the Furnace and a complete system replacement. He got Cody out to the house the next day to make those estimates and to go over any questions I may have. After discussion with Cody, my wife and I decided to go with the repair/rebuild of my furnace. Josh came out today and completed the work. He was on time and through. He explained everything he did and the cost was exactly as estimated. These guys are professional, polite and skilled. Josh is totally dedicated to doing the job right. Precision has been taking care of my Heating and Cooling systems for the last seven years and, I would not have anyone else. I could not recommend them more and I would give them 10 Stars if I could. read more

Our AC hasn't been working, so Precision came out and told us that we needed a new unit & quoted us. The unit was less than 6 years old, so I didn't think it had been bad. I told them that you can't feel any air coming from the vents at all & to check the duct work just in case. They swore up and down that a new unit would fix all of our problems, even after another technician came out and said the unit was fine. Against my better judgement, I paid them $8k cash out of pocket to replace the unit....nothing changed. It's still hotter in the house than it is outside, & miserable. We called for them to come back out and it was a hassle just to get someone to check. The guy that came out stated that the house needed new duct work, & that was the initial problem anyways. He said they would discount a quote to get the AC working again for their mistake. Now we can't even hear back from them. They don't wanna fix the duct work Honestly, I feel like they swindled us. They knew what they were doing.they just wanted to make a quick $8k cash and replace an easy unit and let us deal with the actual problem. They haven't been honest or honored anything they said they would. I definitely would not recommend precision heating & air. read more

I'm giving this company a 1 star because it is not possible to give less than one star. I wish I had looked at the other reviews on here before hiring them! They sent a technician who was the most unprofessional and untrustworthy service person I have ever done business with. The person they sent spent his whole time warning me about all the catastrophes that were possible when he inspected the unit, which got my suspicions up immediately. He cleaned it and replaced the refrigerant, and less than two weeks later I have another company out here doing the work of fixing the "repaired" system. In all honesty, I refused to let the Precision repairman "flush" the system further when he was here, so now I'm paying someone else to do the work. I didn't trust him at all! Turns out I was right; the system didn't need to be flushed. These repairmen, who are from Assured Comfort btw, did not need to do a $400 flush because they could see the leak in less than 5 minutes. To add insult to injury, the precision repairman left a pile of trash beneath my attic. And worst of all he chews tobacco and spit in my kitchen sink. Yes, that's right the a**hole SPIT IN MY KITCHEN SINK. Never ever again will I allow this company into my home for anything. I should have followed my instincts, paid the $79 trip fee, sent him on his way, and called another company to do the work! Update: the repairmen that I called to re-do the "repair" found a bottle in my attic full of saliva that the repairman - Daryl - used to spit in and left behind, along with the filthy filter that he removed from my AC unit. Its too bad I can't give 0 stars. I had no heat at my house, and they charged 287 to replace a heat ignitor, which costs no more than 50 to 75 dollars for the part. The reasoning for this is because he had to drive out to diagnose what was going on, which is what they charged the 99 dollar diagnostic service fee for. He then stated that it was 287 to make sure the entire system was running properly and that the install happened correctly. So you are charging 225 dollars an hour to make sure that your own work is done correctly? Most lawyers don't even charge that much for billable hours, let alone a mechanic. They essentially charged me 350 dollars for one hour of work because they know that they can get away with it. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. What they charge is practically highway robbery and criminal. Called these guys out because my AC stopped working. They replaced the capacitor and took out half of my refrigerant because they said it was too high. The next week the AC freezes up and then my fan motor goes out which I don't blame them for the fan motor. I tried to call their emergency line because it was the weekend as they advertise 24/7 service. I called for a day and a half no one answered. Finally called a new company and they replaced my fan motor and had to replace the capacitor again because that capacitor would not work with a new fan motor. Oh and my refregerant was low! False advertising on the 24/7 service and caused more problems than not. Would never call again. read more

We purchased a new home 10 years ago. Precision had installed out HVAC for the builder. We continued to have precision service our units twice a year. About 7 months ago they replace our units. The technician said they were junky and blamed the builder. Out humidifier never worked, again the builder was cheap.Shortly after precision replaced our ac units we noticed that a very large piece of our stucco foundation had been broken off. About 4x10. When we contacted precision, they would not take any responsibility. Even worse now it's hotter than hot and our ac does not work! I guess I'm more embarrassed than anything. Oh my God do not use these guys they are freaking crooks they were going to charge me $680 because they said a circuitboard needed to be replaced when in fact all my AC unit needed was for that button to be reset on the plug-in and it worked perfectly so instead of paying them $680 I paid $30 for somebody else to come out and look at it push a button and be done then they give you a card to tell you to go online and write a good review and you'll get $25 off they are crooks do not use them read more

Company is very shady. Twice they have recommended expensive repairs that were not needed. My first experience I called them because one of my units was not cooling properly. So not only did one unit need replacing the other one needed $800 in repairs. After 19 years they both happened to go out when a repairman was there. What are the odds of that? The one that was repaired six months later on a maintenance check I was told it would go out any day now. Three years later it did go out and I called reliable hvac and was very happy with them. They were extremely professional and knowledgeable. A couple of months after that the unit precision had installed was not cooling properly. I thought well it is under warranty I guess I'll let precision look at it. Well they tell me it needs to be cleaned $200 and coil replaced. While the coil was under warranty the labor would be $800. I found it hard to believe a coil would "go out" after three years and why would you clean something that you are replacing? I told him that I would have to get another opinion and of course he did not like that. I called reliable again and it was a little low on coolant and he said the coil was fine and did not need cleaning. The ac has worked fine since. I will not use precision again. read more

I now know for a fact they charged more than double for R22 compared to a competitor. They won't be getting another chance to rob me. Earlier this year I used Precision to replace an AC unit and a hot water heater in a house I was selling. I didn't get other quotes- I was in a hurry to get the work done. Fast forward about 3 months and I called them to my current residence to move an AC unit from a carport to just below - Precision told me it would cost 3K just to move the unit and kept trying to convince me it would be better to just replace it (this unit is clean and has NO issues - it is about 8 yrs old but 4 of those years the house was vacant). Fast forward another 3 months or so and I contact a different HVAC company - guess what, IT ONLY COST $900 to move the unit - this other company is well known so I'd say they were a comparable company - so if you choose Precision my advice to you would be GET ANOTHER QUOTE before you pull the trigger. I'm confident I got screwed because of the way they handled the last quote - AND THEN they never followed up with me - I would think after I spent about 7K with them in a matter of a week (no financing) that they could have taken a little better care of me as a customer - I will never call them again. read more

I used them several times in the past...I've been in the same home for 20 years. The technicians were always very personable and nice, and being a woman, I certainly didn't feel that they were creepy. So I'd give them a good rating on their staff. My problem is with their pricing. On 3 separate times I have been over-charged for parts that I have verified that I could get the EXACT same part on-line for a significantly cheaper price. Do you hear that?? The EXACT SAME part. Same part number. Same manufacturer. The first part they charged me $110 and I could get it on line for $12. The second time, they charged me $299 and claimed that they gave me a discount on the part because I was under a "maintenance program". I found the exact same part for $36. The third time, they came in to diagnose the problem and wanted over $500 for the part. I didn't allow them to perform the repair. I found the part they recommended (unsure if it would have been the exact same part since I never let them install it) and it cost $119. I decided then to never let them come to my home. I purchased the part myself and installed it myself. And keep in mind that these prices are for parts only...this does not include the price for their labor or for their "service call" to come to your home. I can't say if other HVAC companies gouge their customers on parts pricing the same way that this company does, because I have since done all repairs on my own. If you want to perform repairs yourself, just google it and find it on the internet. Someone out there has probably posted a video on how to fix your problem or replace the part. read more

If I could give negative stars... I would. I realize now that I had been over charged and taken advantage of for years. I had this company come out twice a year for a maintenance check. The furnace is under that house which is a pain in the ass to work on which is most likely the reason why nothing was found wrong. I escaped without paying more. However they ALWAYS found something wrong with my AC unit (which is fairly new). According to them something was always about to break. So my dumb ass believed them and I paid the bill. This last time that they came out the tech said that the manager had to come out and give me an estimate for repair. A couple weeks later, while the AC unit was working just fine, the manager said that it would cost me $3100 to replace or $2300 to repair. I'm just a blue collar worker and can't afford this. Also it just didn't seem right...how could the AC unit work but I was told that it needed major repair or replaced. So... I got a second opinion. SHOCKER... I didn't need any repairs according to the new company!!! It works just fine. In my opinion...this company is just looking to make money by doing repairs that are not needed...over charging and using scare tactics. Well...no more!!!! I will be contacting the better business bureau and who ever else will take my report!! read more

Precision Heating and Air definitely was a life saver for me! My ac broke with the heat outside at 98 degrees everyday back in late June and with a recommendation I called them. They were very sweet and understanding and sent someone out right away. The tech came evaluated the problem and had the parts I needed ordered that I needed. I got a call 2 hours later they had the parts and they could send someone out right away to fix my ac, of course I said come on. My ac was cooling my house off again. I was fixed up at a very reasonable price in a very quick time frame by very friendly service people. I highly recommend them! read more

Awful. They replaced my upstairs ac and furnace not even 3 years ago and I have issues every summer. My 30 year old units honestly worked better than this new unit. During the hot summer months it won't cool my upstairs below 79 degrees. The company comes up with all these exscuses and "fixes" and the people you call to talk to are rude and short with you. A different company replaced my down stairs units 6 months after precision and I've had absolutely 0 issues. read more

I called them for checking on my AC unit and the technician was knowledgeable to say it was the capacitor that was faulty. But to replace that (OEM part on the market costs from $5 - $35) the technician told me it was $250 to replace the part. When I questioned about the price both the technician and his boss (Chris R) started mentioning about how much it costs to run their business by employing so many people and paying them. Even if the technician had asked me for 125 or 150 I would have paid on the spot, but $250 was way out and no wonder I see so many negative reviews for them. I should have checked their review before I called. I would given them half a star if yelp would allow me. Finally ended up paying the $79 trip charge without them changing the part. read more

I wanted to write about our experience with Precision Heating and Air. I spoke with Chris Sunday late afternoon to explain our distress with the air not working. Chris offered someone to come out later that evening but we were ok waiting til morning. Chris set up an appointment for 8-10 am Monday morning and our technician called to confirm 40 min before arrival and arrived before 8. My husband and I met with the technician (Bob) who explained after looking at our inside and outside units what was wrong. He explained that our current HVAC unit to repair would cost us a significant amount to repair. He asked us to speak with his manager, Gary to discuss our options. We knew after all weekend of limited function that our unit had major problems. As a disclaimer my husband is a retired builder after 30 years and he is quite able to repair and diagnose most problems. Truth be told we waited all weekend with no air because he was certain the next fix was the one so I have no doubt we were given accurate information. :-) We decided to go with replacing the unit in hopes that our yearly repair events with our Lenox unit would end. Gary left our home at 10:30am to go pick up the new HVAC unit and alerted the instillation team we were on the list for afternoon instill. It is now 6pm the installers left about an hour ago and our house is already significantly cooler than the 90 degrees it was. I had read some of the other reviews and I would not let that dissuade you from Precision. The service, quality and experience was excellent. read more

Horrible, Horrible, Horrible Saturday customer service. Lousy service to repeat and loyal customers. Precision is the only company that has serviced my home's dual AC/furnace units. In fact I'm on their contract program. One month after I had routine service to my AC units, one of them stopped working. I called on a Saturday, and the only person available to come for a service call was the technician (E.Zaro) who had last serviced my units. I told the female rep I didn't want him to come out, and I told her why (he caused some damage at the last visit, it was minor which is why I didn't complain, but I also didn't want him coming out again). She said he was the only tech available. We went round and round about this - I had a hard time believing a company this size only had one person available, and asked that she contact her manager or whomever she was to contact if an issue came up. She flat out refused and kept repeating she could have E. Zaro come out. My other option was to sweat it out 2 more days and wait for a different technician. I again asked her (politely) to contact her manager. She obviously didn't want to help, and didn't care, and instead decides to be condescending and disrespectful and states she will call the owner on vacation and tell him that he has to help me because "I don't want the tech who broke my hose coming out." Then she hung up on me. I wish I got her name, because I would post it here as well. Needless to say, no more business from me. Next step contact cc company to dispute payment for contract agreement. I welcome the owner or high-level manager from Precision to contact me. If this is resolved to my satisfaction I'll update my review. read more
