I had a fantastic experience with Drysdale Physical Therapy over the 14-15 appointments I had over an almost five month span. I had a lower back injury/disc issue with immense pain that was so bad it actually resulted in my going to the hospital, and culminating with a referral to Drysdale Physical Therapy. I am so glad I did. Dr. Drysdale is a personable, kind man who really cares about his patients and sincerely wants to get to know them and help get them back on track and pain free. You can see his sincerity and rapport with his patients in how they greet him when they walk in for their appointments (and I noticed some repeat patients like myself on multiple occasions). There's a feeling of genuineness and sincerity in his interactions with his patients and his staff; they all seem to genuinely enjoy working together and with their patients. His staff is very friendly, and I love how they are an energetic and motivated team--especially at 7:00 am! His team of PTs, massage therapists, and assistants were so helpful in getting me back to a "0" pain level and being able to walk, exercise, lift objects, work, etc as I did before I was injured. You won't regret going to Drysdale PT. A couple of things to note: First, you won't see Dr. Drysdale at every single appointment because of the number of patients and staff he has to supervise, which is completely reasonable. I have met some people who are kind of entitled and only ever want to be seen by the guy whose name is on the building, which in my opinion is an unreasonable expectation for a patient to have. However, this was never a problem because his other therapists are amazing! Also, Dr. Drysdale will see you during intermittent progress checks that you have after a certain number of appointments. So you'll never feel "neglected." Second, Dr. Drysdale warned me at the first appt that there would be an initial period where the pain would likely increase after treatment started, and then slowly get better. This was true for me. So if you don't see improvement immediately, I really recommend you trust the process and not get frustrated or think it isn't working. I had very tangible positive results after about a month, started to feel better and reduced my appointments, then had a recurrence of pain, and went back for another two months and am now pain free. Drysdale PT offers the best physical therapy in Fresno. And I don't say this without experience. I have worked with various physical therapy clinics because I previously worked as a sales rep for a DME company. Elisha and Hannah at the front are welcoming and dedicated! Their PTAs, especially Miriam, make you feel understood and well cared for. They consider what will best improve their patient's lives not only short-term, but long-term. Even their massage therapist, Nessi, provides personalized care. Their aides are also always alert and attentive, assisting with exercises or setting up modalities. PT George and PT Lee have loads of experience and prioritize their patients. They can evaluate your symptoms and provide education to help you improve. Everyone here is so welcoming even when it is busy. Even though I have never been referred to the PT, the providers and staff have adjusted to me. After my orthopedic doctor took x-rays and diagnosed my back pain, he referred me to Drysdale Physical Therapy. I'm so glad he did! During my first visit, Dr. Drysdale did a comprehensive evaluation. It was immediately clear that he is extremely knowledgeable and competent. He found the underlying cause of my pain, then prescribed a treatment program that would address the cause - not just treat the symptoms. I looked forward to each visit. The atmosphere is upbeat and positive, and like Dr. Drysdale, each assistant who helped me was friendly, professional and highly skilled. The place is a cash cow. They load up on patients and you will see an actual therapist for about 5 minutes. Then there are a gaggle of therapy aids who have very little effect that wander from patient to patient. You will spend a fair amount of time waiting. The therapy aids did not ensure physical training was being done correctly. When using Electric Muscle Stimulation, the aid put it on the wrong part of my body twice. To add insult to this, there is a heavy jock-bro environment. I cancelled after my second visit. The therapists themselves are good and the diagnosis was spot on. They are just maximizing profit at the cost of treatment. read more

I have been going to them for approximately 3 months now for problems with my right leg and now my left leg. I am so impressed with the entire staff there from the front desk receptionist to the back therapy room employees. Especially Miriam one of the therapists. She has pushed me to where I thought I could never go. Before going to Drysdale PT I could not even walk 1/4 of a mile without extreme pain in my lower back. I can now walk a mile plus with no pain whatsoever. I can truly say that I will never go to any other therapist but Drysdale. I don't know why it's taken me so long to write this review. It's not because it isn't deserved. Drysdale Physical Therapy is the place you want to go to heal, get better and be your best self. This is my second experience with them and I couldn't be happier with my recovery. I never thought I'd be the same after cervical fusion, but my range of motion is better than I ever thought it would be. Thank you Lee! When you walk in you're greeted by friendly faces and the treatment area is the same. You're always made to feel comfortable and looked after by people who know what they're doing. The treatment tables are carefully cleaned after each patient and the entire facility is always immaculate. My only complaint would be about the 2 dead bushes outside the back windows! I was referred for diagnosis of a twitch that had developed in my left buttock, a suspected sacroiliac problem that might require surgery. Dr. Drysdale listened carefully and then checked me out mechanically. He noted that my right foot was slightly turned out. He sorted through my tangle of hip and butt muscles and gristle, manipulating each bit into its proper position. Then Dr. Drysdale stretched me out on a table and, holding my left leg tight to his shoulder, gave it a sharp tug. That fixed a misalignment of about 60 years' duration. I could only say "Wow!" The realignment was locked into place by follow-up therapy, five more visits. Even during a pandemic, Drysdale PT is a nice place to visit. Staff are unfailingly pleasant and professional. read more

I've been having pain in my neck, shoulders and now forearm for a long time. Went to a chiropractor for several months and no relief. I have been to Drysdale two separate times for two different areas of my back. The first time around I was saved from needing a back brace for my scoliosis, Dr. Drysdale gave me exercises I've been using for years. The second time around reminded me why I loved being at their office so much. Two years ago, after surgery on my left shoulder, i checked with friends and medical professionals where they recommend I should go for physical therapy. They all recommended Dr. Drysdale. I had a great experience and an excellent recovery with full range of motion without pain, restored. Four weeks ago, I had the same surgery on my right shoulder. I have been with Drysdale for several different issues over the years. George (Dr. Drysdale) is a true genius at diagnosing and getting you healed with the exact right modalities. And my husband has worked with Lee as well and has had excellent results and good direction from him. There is also a first-class support staff offering hands-on healing and treatment as well as guiding you through exercises to strengthen you and get you back into your life. I have had diverse issues but have never had anything they can't address and it's always done with an upbeat attitude, humor, and complete compassion coupled with their outstanding skills. I send my friends here and feel it is the premier physical therapy facility in the valley. I've been to others and some have been helpful but nothing at this level. I hope to never have to go anywhere else. I do would not recommend Drysdale Physical Therapy to an athlete or anyone else that wants a high-performance clinic. My experience at Drysdale PhysicalTherapy was sub-par; I actually walked out of the clinic during a session because of lack of attention from the PT. My rating is based on: 1) Lack of attention from Physical Therapist; 2) Lack of knowledge of physical therapist; 3) Lack of knowledge of staff. In my former life as an 8 year minor leaguer, I had 5 surgeries and recovered with some of the best therapists in the world; so I know good care when I see it. I also went to a clinic before Drysdale (in orange county) and a clinic after Drysdale (in San Jose) so I have first-hand experience with other clinics for this same ACL recovery. 1) The clinic was often over-crowded with patients. While there may have been enough space for the patients, there were not enough therapists. A typical 1 hour therapy session resulted in 5-10 minutes of hands-on time with the therapist. I'm not sure if insurance companies have a minimum time PTs need to spend with a patient, in order to bill, but I'd be surprised if it was less than 10 minutes for an hour long appointment. 2) Physical therapist had masters degree (not doctorate). He did not have much experience in post-ACL surgery therapy. While he hadn't led many patients through this type of recovery, he did seem to know the basics. The PT did NOT do manual therapy/massage of the injured leg (which is standard practice for this type of recovery). 3) The PT Aides were terribly inexperienced. The PT aides performed the massage of my knee, but had NO IDEA WHAT THEY WERE DOING. They frequently massaged the wrong way, didn't have good pressure control and did not have an idea why/what they were doing. Additionally, they were not instructed on how to use the ultra-sound machine. Ultra sound doesn't even have any researched-based results for post-acl recovery. While most of my experience was bad, there were some good things: The staff was friendly Some of the clientele seemed very happy, although most of these people did not appear to have much experience with PT or athletics (or maybe they just didn't know what good PT clinics offer, so they didn't have anything to compare). read more

After a disastrous experience with a physical therapist in the town where I am currently living, I chose to spend a month in Fresno just to return to George and his amazing staff to help me out with my weird hip issues. He really helped me fix up my back in 2003 and I'm happy to say that in 2010, Drysdale Physical Therapy is still up to the same high standard of quality. The staff here is personable, attentive, and eager to answer your questions. You do not get stuffed in a room with a magazine and a shocker machine to wonder if your therapist is going to really come back from Starbucks. Instead, patients warm up on a bicycle, then see an assistant for ultrasound and whatever the little electrical machine is called, then massage therapy, and finally there is time with the physical therapist himself. And best of all, they give you effective and numerous exercises to do at home to help yourself. They actually want to get their patients well, not drag out treatment until the next Harry Potter film comes out. Both therapists really take time with their patients and try to get to the root of the problem. I really needed help in a short amount of time and didn't want to pussyfoot around finding someone new, and they have helped me. read more

The entire experience is top notch, from the front desk to the back room. There is no question that everyone is passionate and caring for their clients. He takes the time to do a full assessment and diagnose what exactly the problem may be, mixes in some humor and recommends a course of action to correct your issue. The entire staff at Drysdale Physical Therapy is not only professional but also extremely friendly. I came here following an auto accident; I had both neck and back pain as well as terrible headaches. After the first session with Robby, I could tell a marked difference in the intensity of my headaches. By the third session, my headaches were virtually nonexistent. Robby and the physical therapy assistants asked questions each visit to track progress and make sure the affected areas were being treated effectively. I was also given exercises to do at home to aid in the recovery process. My first physical therapy experience, I wasn't sure what to expect and went in a little nervous.
