EXTREMELY UNETHICAL BUSINESS PRACTICES!…read more I joined the gym in early 2024 and cancelled my membership in June of 2024. Apparently due to some sort of miscommunication, something went awry with my cancellation and it was either not received, not processed, or both. A YEAR AND A HALF AFTER THE FACT - in October 2025, I receive communication from a debt collector saying that I owe almost $1300 in back charges. This gym NEVER, NOT ONCE sent me any communication informing me that there was an issue with my account. I was not provided any notice whatsoever that there was a problem - no bill, no phone call, no text, no mail. Instead they just kept accruing charges FOR A YEAR AND A HALF without my knowledge and hit me with a $1300 collections bill. I was never given an opportunity to correct this beforehand, before it got out of hand. This is NOT the way a reputable business conducts themselves.

I'm really torn on this review. I enjoyed the convenience of the gym and it was rarely crowded…read more Quality and maintenance of equipment is just ok. Lots of taping over cushion cracks instead of replacing etc. And fitness equipment is definitely aging. My biggest frustration and cause for me to cancel my membership was over the most ridiculous business practice. I set up my payments with auto pay from a credit card. About a year into my membership the credit card expired and I forgot to update my card. ONE DAY after the due date I get a harassing collection call. A simple text message or email asking me to update my card would do just fine. Then I see a $25 "processing fee" on my credit card after I updated it. AC (the owner) replied that he's not charging me, but it's the billing company he outsources to and they charge when an account goes to collections. Sorry bud, but you picked them and they represent your name and reputation. Needing to update a credit card within a few days of due date isn't something that should "go to collections" in the first place. The fact they're willing to let a member leave over something so trivial and typical is beyond me. Recurring revenue on monthly auto pay is the life-blood of many businesses. There are plenty of payment solutions in the market that would make life easier on your customers.

The trainers here are exceptional--they're constantly watching your form during lifts and providing real-time corrections to ensure you're working safely and effectively. The gym itself is impressively clean and well-organized, with equipment always in its place and ready to use. What really sets this place apart is the structured programming: every quarter you test your one-rep max, then follow a tailored program designed to increase your strength over the next three months. I've felt myself getting stronger week by week, and the staff has been incredibly accommodating with modifications as I manage knee arthritis. Cody deserves special recognition for keeping things fun and engaging. Right now he's running a bingo card challenge where hitting certain objectives earns you a Starbucks gift card, and during the holidays he did a "12 Days of Christmas" raffle for everyone who showed up. These little touches keep you motivated and create a great community atmosphere. If you're looking for a gym with knowledgeable trainers, smart programming, and an environment that makes you actually want to show up, I can't recommend Harter Strength and Conditioning enough.

So torn how to rate them because I love the idea of the place, but it's just so filthy. I've seen…read moreso many reviews of how clean they are, but in my experience, it's the dirtiest gym I've ever been. I see some of the trainers push around a mini dust buster or use dirty, dust coated dusters pushing around more dust and dirt, but I've never seen anything be sanitized or any cleaning products come out. The corners of the gym and the bottom of every machine are coated in dirt and dust. The sign in desk is always coated in a layer of dust. They don't even bother to turn on the fans anymore because they are so dusty. I mean COATED. Speaking of fans, it's always boiling hot in there. It's uncomfortable. They need to spend a little money and have the place professionally cleaned minimum once a week. All other gyms I've belonged to hired DAILY cleaners. I don't think once a week, especially when they're only open 6 days, in a building where people sweat and touch things all day, is asking too much. They also need to get rid of their (basically empty) glade plug ins. Somehow the gym rarely smells, which is great, but those plug ins emit VOCs and are terrible for your lungs. That's the last thing you need to worry about in a gym where breathing is key. And crank up the AC year round. I know it's expensive, but that's the nature of the business. I wish they had a few more machines, but for the size of the place they have a nice set up. It could be a great little neighborhood gym. I enjoy going, I'm just always worried about getting overheated or sick. They have a good thing going here. Everyone is nice and respectful. Just needs some TLC.

In addition to the treadmill for 45 minutes, I am also working out with weights. Jonathon is a very methodical trainer. We get a lot done in those 30 minutes of weight training. Jonathon is an excellent communicator. He enjoys talking and making sure that your form is on par. He genuinely cares about his clients. The gym is very adequately furnished. The price of membership is very reasonable. I believe it is only $20 per month. There are no children allowed in the facility. I will continue to come here six days a week and train. Since starting, I have lost over 60 pounds.

Adam also put me on a diet that was partially responsible for the results I saw. The diet he had me on was reasonable and essentially just required discipline which he is great for. First, I told him I would continue paying him until I could get back in the gym. This is because I appreciate the toll it takes to own and run a business during a time such as this. He has a family and partners and I sympathize with that. For multiple reasons, I did not feel the same respect from him. My girlfriend and I made mention of the fact that her son has asthma, which puts him at a much higher risk of DEATH if he catches COVID-19. Bryant's response was short and un-remorseful. I asked him several times to help with at-home workouts, trying to get some sort of semblance of my money's worth. He did very little to help and ignored me multiple times. No checking up on me, no "hey how are your home workouts going?" "Is there anything I can do to help?" "Let me know if you need anything." Nothing. When my girlfriend, who was subbing yoga teaching as partial payment for her competition prep, told him that she was unable to teach yoga because of the stay at home orders and, again, her son has asthma and he is at higher risk, his response was "K". Absolutely no commitment to my experience as a paying customer other than "you can show up to the gym [illegally, risking your health and the health of those around you] and train." And then, when I asked for a refund for services that I WILL NOT BE RECEIVING, his response was basically "no." (Text screenshot attached). Notice we had a deal that I would help them with their social media as well. What I do for a living and charge $125 an hour to do. More than double what Bryant's time is worth. Because, I enjoy helping when I can. I advise anyone who is in the market for gyms and trainers to be very careful when making your selection as this is a small glimpse into the reality and their values and principles as business owners.

In May while on a business trip I made the decision I needed to not only lose weight but get healthy and stronger with weight training. The manager paired me with trainer, Matt Fox (IG: @fitnessfox87) He is AMAZING. If you are sitting on the fence and wonder what you may need to do, it is hire PT and reach out to Matt! You will not be disappointed. He pushes me and has taught me so much about myself. I am 22 weeks in. I train with Matt 2-3 times a week. I then go in on my own for extra cardio boost. I am down 38lbs and lots of inches gone! When I joined and started going the gym was gross. Equipment dusty, floors dirty just gross. They since closed upgraded equipment, remodeled and deep cleaned the location. I am hoping they stay on task with the cleanliness as it is important to uphold. Give the gym a try but most importantly ask for Matt Fox to help you meet your own personal goals.
