I agreed to a level 1 cleaning fireplace which I was told beforehand would cost about $214 but the…read morelimitations of the procedure were not explained ahead of time. This job finally involved about 45 min of work which included an inspection and pushing a brush up the metal liner in the fireplace chimney and some vacuuming. I was told stage two and three creosote was present especially in the smokebox but would not be removed with this maneuver. There was no inspection of the top of the chimney. I find this service very poor value for the money spent.

Highly recommended!…read more I called with multiple questions- needed tuckpointing on two chimneys, chimney caps to keep out the raccoons, and an inspection/cleaning of an old wood-burning stove. Scott came out for an inspection and gave me great advice- namely that I would need major repairs and updates to safely use the stove- so he advised me against spending the money to clean it unless I intended to commit to the rest of the project. Scott took his time and explained quite a bit to me. I was in a bit of a hurry to get the chimney work done because I had my new roof on hold waiting for the chimney repairs. Brian came out within a day or two to give me an estimate, then was able to sneak me into his schedule for the next week. Each time they said they would be there, they were. And everything was thoroughly cleaned up before they left! I have two awkwardly placed chimneys and had received multiple repair estimates. Some refused the job, others gave me estimates which were much higher than Good Knight's Sweep. One contractor wanted me to rent a manlift for $1000. Scott and Brian set up scaffolding- off of my upper deck for one of the chimneys, around the power lines for the other- and somehow made it look easy. Brian did the tuckpointing and replaced the crowns on two chimneys- the work was pristine, and they even went back up at the end of the day to clean up a small drip that I never would have noticed. Scott dropped a mothball in the chimneys to keep the raccoons out, then replaced the caps. I have had multiple consultations on how to get the raccoons out long enough to cap the chimneys, all were ridiculously expensive and involved trapping/killing the raccoons- so this solution was amazing. Fees for the caps were also lower than other quotes I received. Finally, I just want to say that these are such nice guys! Scott removed an old antenna that was on my roof and hauled it away. Brian cleaned up some unsightly discoloration on the side of my home that the HVAC guys had left. They could have easily said "sure, I'll do it for $50" or whatever- but both things were done really just as a favor. I'm not someone that normally writes reviews, but honestly just can't say enough good things about these guys. If you need any type of chimney or fireplace work, just call them and look no further.

I had a very positive start-to-finish experience with MS Chimney. For several years we had been…read moregetting birds and an occasional squirrel stuck in our chimney. The last time, over winter, TWO birds got stuck in it. I was able to fly a drone up and look at the cap-one of our sides was completely exposed. I gave a few chimney companies a call and MS Chimney was the first to get back to me and they also gave me the best price. Once I scheduled the inspection, communication was excellent. Zach let me know when he was on the way and his thorough inspection lasted a good 30 minutes. In addition to needing a better cap on our chimney, the firebox needed to be cleaned and re-pointed. The total cost was $500 less than what my buddy had paid for the same job from another company several years ago. The MS Chimney works with a custom fabricator who builds each cap to the specs of the chimney. After Zach finished that day, I flew my drone up and was very happy with the final results, an incredible difference from the sloppy job that had been done previously! Zach was thorough, polite, and punctual. I'd recommend this company again.

He went into my basement and took one picture with his cell phone and told me I needed a new liner and that I had some broken bricks inside my chimney and how big of a job it would be. MS Chimney gave me an estimate of $6,000 to repair my chimney and put a new liner in with the cap. I called Chimney Crickets for 2nd opinion. When Aaron arrived from Chimney Crickets, he had a drone and a snaking camera. Aaron told me I already had a liner, but I needed a cleaning and a new chimney door that had rusted off. My cost was $450 instead of the $6,000 that MS Chimney quoted me. I was never shown any pictures from MS Chimney...but Chimney Crickets showed me every picture they took. MS Chimney kept insisting that their pricing was high because they did the best work. They do the best work yet somehow the man they send out to look at your chimney has no truck and no tools and just a cell phone. Please be careful if you are hiring this company...they over charge and they are dishonest.
