I recently visited this store and staff were far too busy on their phones to bring out the other half of the shoe pair I wanted to buy. After repeatedly walking the store length multiple times searching for an associate, one finally bothered to get the other shoe..of the wrong pair. When I pointed out to the manager that over 8 staff were on their phones, she tried to turn the situation upside down and accused me of being intoxicated and refused me service..and called the police. The official report details the reality of this situation. I contacted corporate and offered details and photos about the incident..they never responded back to me about any desire to rectify the situation, despite the details were captured in a police report! This store is their closest one to their HQ..and they didn't even bother to do anything about the situation. I encourage anyone visiting the store to expect the same behavior..DSW could care less. What's the point of a large selection if the staff won't bother to bring the other shoe from the back. I WOULDN'T GET ANOTHER PAIR OF DSW SHOES HERE IF THEY WERE FREE. read more

Haven't been here in a couple of years and it's changed for the better. Effort has been put into the layout and experience in the store. Sales associates are still very friendly. There was a coffee machine in the middle of the store; which was interesting. The selection of footwear is hard to beat here. My only gripe was that online pickup precess was a little confusing. My box was sitting on the wrong shelf;f and you still have to wait in the register to check out. It won't deter me from getting another shoe deal in here future.. read more

I always think DSW stands for Discount Shoe Warehouse, and then I shop there and see the prices and realize the D stands for "designer." Prices are high, and I have found the same men's shoes for less elsewhere when I am shopping for myself, and lower prices on kid's shoes as well (which is what we're usually there for.) The advantage is the place is huge, so selection is good and you don't have to run all around town. They seemed short staffed on a weekday afternoon, but when we did get help they were nice and efficient. We tried several things on and got one, plus got $10 off 25 when we signed up for their emails as we checked out (the next level is I think $20 off 75.) We got what we needed, for about what I expected to pay. So I guess that's a win. But I gotta remember what the name is next time. read more

I have a special place in my heart for DSW. Their corporate women are STRONG supporters of my favorite philanthropic group - the United Way's Women's Leadership Council and the E3 Program. I write this as the company has again agreed to host the fall footware fashion show. So I have been to this store numerous times. I love that it's part of Easton (right by my house) - but off in a location that has its own parking - and near some other stores I might need to hop into - Old Navy, Staples, Marshall's, Bed Bath & Beyond, etc. I think there may also still be a Bath & Body Works there by the Michael's craft store. Not many are destinations for me - but I do stop in when I'm nearby. The thing I have found most surprising is that I rarely end up buying a shoe I found in-store. I always shop online first - to get an idea of what's available. Then I go to the store, walk around, see what deals they have and check out clearance. My recent stop here yesterday, ended in what has become the norm. I didn't find anything better in store than what I found online. In fact, they had the style of shoe I wanted - just not in the right color. So I went home and ordered online - using the one coupon code I had but they also found another for me at check out, saving another $5! Woo hoo! I thought I'd have to ship to store and pick up to save shipping fees. Not so - I didn't spend that much money but shipping was free. The down side was that I didn't spend enough to get the cool "free" car organizer. But that's OK, it gives me something to shop for next! A final comment I'll make about DSW - they carry shoes at different price points. I have a couple pairs of booties that are not high quality and didn't cost that much. But that's fine - they are super cute and I get compliments when I wear them. I also have some NICE leather riding boots I got here - and I paid a lot for them because I knew I would care for them and have them around for a long time. No fake leather for that type of wear. I think I'm set for the fall as soon as my new heels are delivered. But maybe I'll get to model in the WLC fashion and be back to the store sooner rather than later. ???? ;-) read more

Shoes are compared to a girls best friend. That's why they have so many logo things saying for Shoe Lover's. I love the Fit Pro concept my friend from Israel helped develop while she lived here in Columbus and worked at their corporate headquarters. To all my Yelp friends who don't know what headquarters started is a Fit Pro. This is where you can get custom insoles for the shoes you buy to fit comfortably with any shoe you buy basically, thanks Michal for thinking of this concept! Michal streamlined the idea so that every Columbus store does the Fit Pro insoles for their customers. For someone like me with a history of ankle and foot surgeries, this is brilliant. It transformed my usual shoe size and width to a shoe that custom fits after a major surgery. Onto the service here, I'm sure since headquarters is close to here they use this store as their concept store to bring ideas to shoe lovers. So service here is very important for the buying experience to returning the shoe. I had such a positive experience after breaking my boots to return it here. Not only did they give me my money back they also gave me more off for the new boots I bought. I love the style and selection here. I also think the store is very well organized. I can find almost anything I need for any occasion for my shoe-spiration! I definitely feel like a fashionista after coming here! read more

Usually, I make my purchases online but tonight we came into the store so my son could try on Nike. There were a lot of associates on the floor but no one approached us. They were all in groups chatting with each other. We didn't find the size we needed but my son asked that I didn't interrupt them so he picked a different style. What girl doesn't love shoes?! Ok, now what girl doesn't love shoe shopping? I'm over here holding my hands as high as they go. I can't stand it. However, DSW does make it pretty easy to find something you'll like. There are so many options; it's damn near impossible not find something you want to take home with you. The variety is definitely a perk, the discounts and coupons they offer is an added bonus. Of the few issues I have with the place, the first has to do with the placement of their mirrors. It's very difficult to find a tall mirror where you can step back and see yourself head to toe. The most their tall mirrors are placed awkwardly in the isle where you have about two feet to step back and you can't really get the picture. Now, they do have a couple mirrors that you can step back to view yourself in, but you gotta trek half way across the store to find one. My second, and honestly final criticism is that they never have enough staff at the registers. Even if I'm the only person in line, it takes forever. I believe this has to do with their "loyalty" program where you can stack up points to receive cash off future shoe purchases. Every time they look me up in their system there is a problem. It' just gets annoying. I guess my overall point is if you got it in you to shoe shop and you come to DSW, be mindful that you can be there a good while. I personally love this store! You get great, name brand shoes at a great price. granted the men's section is a small fragment of the store compared to the women's mammoth portion... I guess men are not supposed to wear shoes too often... My favorite bargain is Cole Han shoes! I love the comfort and quality, but hate paying retail as they tend to cost around $175-200 for starters... NOT HERE!!! you can pick them up for around $100 - now that's a bargain! And they have a great clearance section where stuff is marked down an additional 25-75% off the already discount prices!!! I pick up most my bargains there!! An you MUST sign up for their rewards program. For you birthday they send you a $10 coupon and well as several throughout the year based on our spending... I get a few... They also send you special discounts in the mail. I'm all about a good bargain!!! Oh yeah... and they have nice clean, trendy bathrooms!! Therefor I ordered " Madden Girl Kurrt Combat Boot"69.99 each , 1 in size 7 and 1 in size 10. I had reward points and coupon to use that gave me 30 off of the full price. I request in store pick up at DSW, 11160 Veirs Mill Rd SPCP104, Wheaton, MD 20902. I paid on DEC 18TH  @10:48 AM 116.58 CONFIRMATION EMAIL Order Number: 4474876760. Then on DEC 18TH @ 8:11PM by email I was told that my boot size 10 was the only one canceled because the store did not have that size, BUT the size 7 was still able to be picked up. So on DEC 19TH @ 1:08AM I reorder the boots size 10 ONLY FOR 69.99 PLUS PAID EXTRA 14.95 in order to insure my shoe to be expedite for 2day shipping and here for Christmas. CONFIRMATION EMAIL Order Number: 4476112654. I called same day DEC 19TH  at DSW, 11160 Veirs Mill Rd SPCP104, Wheaton, MD 20902 to see what time I could pick up my boots size 7. they informed me they had no order in the system for me at all and to call customer service. This morning on Dec 29th may bank acct is overdrawn because DSW CHARGED ME 68.89 FOR SOMETHING I DIDN'T AUTHORIZE.I called again today Dec 29th @10am I was told by Anderson that my ORDER NUMBER HAS CHANGED TO 4484559873 which is not whatCarol nor Brandon told me at all. Then he stated my order should be delivered tomorrow by 430pm TRACKING NUMBER 950203747799 that they are coming from NJ and that he can offer me 10 rewards only. Been a few years since I was at a DSW but it is going to be summer before you know it and I was looking for some new running shoes. Since I was going to a movie at Easton I figured I could find something that would make me happy. I know it is in their name, DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse, and DSW is litterally a warehouse of shoes. Walking in you never know what you are going to find and that applies to men, women, and children. They have dress, work, casual, and athletic though sizes and styles vary and may never be restocked. The store has been clean and pretty well organized every time I have been. I have never had any issues at DSW customer service-wise, but I have either shopped here during non-peak times or during the holidays when things are going to be crazy no matter what. They have a few locations around central Ohio and they have called another store and held something for me in the past which I appreciated. With this trip I was in and out in less than fifteen minutes. A basic search and destroy shopping trip. Mens, my size, athletic, that will work... I like it, it fits, it feels good, head to the register. Two lanes open, two people at one, and the lady ahead of me was done when I walked up. It was an easy trip. I won't promise anyone the same experieces I have had, but I do recommend this chain and store to anyone living in the area or shopping at Easton. read more

DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse (is there an echo in here?) is what a man wants to find if he's not particular about the extreme mix of high-end shoes with bargain basement brand shoes. DSW always offers that "lottery style" chance of finding a fashion shoe you (read here - guy) like. Women? I'm not a woman but their selections are like the Pacific Ocean while the men's are the Mediterranean. What draws my attention is the variety and the color-tag specials. Variety reigns supreme at DSW even if I walk out empty handed. Yesterday's visit gave me a great glimpse at winter boots for kickin' it around town or for heading to the office. I sooooo wanted to drop $$$ on a pair of Sorel's or Panjar's boots... but I already have two pairs of winter wears for my feet. I passed. :( The selections for athletic shoes is diverse and, so long as you're not trying to keep up with trendy new fashion there has to be a match for function and taste offered. And don't forget to saunter back into the Last Call Area for shoes without a home. I found a pair of Cole Haan half-boots, black with zip side and buckle that made me feel like I would be seeing a metal band soon.... loved 'em.... but wearing them once or twice a year? No guts - no glory. No trigger was pulled, even for 60% off price (under $70). My view is anyone, woman or man, has to visit DSW to browse and see if there might be "your favorite" for less. This is the most upscale, biggest DSW I've ever seen. The pretty light fixtures and wooden floors make it feel like a nice shoe store (that happens to be HUGE) rather than a warehouse. I've noticed that the DSW's in columbus (especially the Easton one) have a better, wider inventory compared to other DSWs across the country. Probably because DSW is HQed in Columbus! Yay! They even have a luxury item section (Prada, Gucci, etc) that offers much better deals than you could find anywhere else (like under $300)! This is the first place I come to when I need new shoes! Make sure you check out the sale room in the back. I don't know why anyone buys shoes at department stores when this place exists! read more

DSW is a girls' Heaven on Earth. I actually have to restrain myself from going into this store whenever I'm up on this side of town because I've been known to walk out of here with 4, 5, OK maybe even 6 pairs of shoes. Shoes are arranged by heel height (which when you think about it is a great way to do it!) and you can find just about ever style and color imaginable. Staff is always nearby if you need help finding something but most of the time, the fun part is wandering up and down the aisles looking for something to strike your fancy. I have one of their cards but I always forget it. But that's OK because they can look it up for you and that way you get credit for the items you buy and they will send you coupons and treats in the mail for future purchases. Its dangerous though because every time they send you coupon you start to think how you really, really need a new pair of shoes... If you go to the back of the store 1st, you'll find the clearance section. Its great if you can find what you want here before you sort through the rest of the stock because you can get it at a substantial discount and buy another pair with the money you saved...wait, did I just say that? Oh my gosh I love this store! I'm not a shoe fanatic, but it is fun to buy new shoes every once in a while, and when I'm in the mood for it, I usually come here. This store is huge and has a great selection. I always go to this location, which is located near Easton and it's not too far away for me. It's a little bit past the mall area so the traffic isn't quite as bad. It's in that shopping center that's across from the mall with other stores like Old Navy and Bath & Body Works. Because of this, this whole area has a separate parking lot from all the Easton shopping center parking garages and lots, thank goodness, because those are such a mess. So parking isn't usually a problem, but you do have to make it through the Easton traffic. When you do go inside, be prepared to see thousands of shoes! The store is huge and there are so many shoes it's almost scary. But I don't really take my time up at the front. All of the name brand expensive stuff is up in the front of the store, but I make a bee line for the back of the store. There's a room back there - it's kind of more like the same room only sectioned off a bit - for sale stuff! I don't like to pay the list price for name brand shoes, so I head to the back of the store first to see what I can find out of the sale stuff. And there is usually a heck of a lot of sale shoes to look through. They are all sectioned by sizes, so find your size and go crazy! The sale prices here are color coded. If your shoes have a color coded sticker on them, which they will if they are in the back of the store, then that means that you take off a certain percentage of the price that's listed on the tag. They have charts all over the place that can help you figure it out without having to bust out your calculator. I think that yellow is the best sale - 90% off or something crazy. The other colors are blue, green, purple and red, and I think they go from 20%, 40%, 60% and 80% off. It's fun to find shoes you like, look at the price and then take off your discount. The shoes aren't categorized by style so you'll just have to look, but that lets you see all of the options for your size. Sometimes I come here and find nothing, other times I come here and buy multiple pairs of shoes. The sale section of the store is easily the most popular so sometimes it can get a little crowded in there. One of the reasons that I love this store is that they carry Rocketdog sneakers, which I love. These are just simple canvas casual shoes that sell for upwards of $40 at list price. So ridiculous, but they are a name brand, so they can get away with it. They are really cute and come in great patterns, but it's too pricey. So I check out DSW's sale section and I can find some cool Rocketdog's marked down most of the time. I can typically find some nice Rocketdog's in the sale section for around $20 after the sale discount. They also sell Kangaroos here, another tennis shoe brand that I like, which are too expensive at list price. But back in the sale section, I can get them for about half of the list price. I have given in and bought some shoes out at the front of the store because I just couldn't resist. The prices could be better I guess, but then again, I'm not sure that I could find them cheaper anywhere else. Minus one star for not so great service. The salespeople around here are hard to find on the floor and sometimes aren't very helpful when you do ask them a question. But this one time, the employee's lack of attention worked to my advantage. This was on one of my trips where I bought several pairs of shoes - I think 4. They were having some really good sales. I went up to the counter and the girl was having some trouble scanning the tags and figuring out the discounts. She was talking to me and not paying attention. She told me my total was around $30. I was surprised, but I paid, and upon getting home and looking at my receipt, I noticed that she had completely neglected to charge me for one of the pairs of shoes! I wasn't about to go back and correct it - I considered it my lucky day! So $30 for four pairs of shoes - not bad at all. I got lucky that time, but the sales are still really great if you take the time to look around. And since this is such a big store, you will need lots of time to get your shopping done. DSW also sells socks and panty hose and lots and lots of bags and purses. Sometimes they have sales on that stuff, but they usually aren't near as good as the shoe sales. But they do also have gift sets, like purse gifts or journal sets and things like that. So it might come in handy if you had some gift buying to do. It's a fun store, and a great place to spend the afternoon if you have some shoe shopping to do. it's definitely big enough that if you want to look at everything you'll need a few hours. read more

When this place opened, I was so excited. I absolutely love shoes and have more pairs than I would like to admit. I have spent hundreds of dollars on shoes at DSW. I will never buy anything from DSW again, not in their store, not online. Sad thing is, I have a rewards too, but I'm going to give that to my co-worker. Anyway, recently they had a tote offer with the purchase of a pair of shoes starting May 10. I got a card that I could use in store or online. Great! The tote was super cute and had a shoe compartment. So, I was in the Easton area the day the tote promotion started. It was around 5pm when I called the store. They do open at 9am right? Ok, so I asked if they had any totes left. She said they ran out around 2pm. Okay seriously? 2pm? How do you only have a tote supply that only lasts until 2pm when your store is open until 9pm? So, my co-worker suggests that I order online and use the tote code to see if I can get it that way. I order a pair of shoes on May 11 and the system takes the code for the tote. So, I'm assuming I'm getting a pair of shoes AND...AND...AND...a tote. Shoes arrive...NO TOTE. Okay, now listen, I completely understand it is "while supplies last," I get that. But, why would the online ordering system accept the promo code for the tote if they were completely out? HUGE FLAW DSW...HUGE FLAW! The shoes were not what I expected either. They were black loafers and in the picture they were all black. I get these shoes and they were black with white piping. What the heck? So, I go to DSW to return the shoes instead of using the shipping label to return them. I wanted to specifically speak to the fact that I didn't get my tote and see if they were willing to do anything to resolve my dissatisfaction. I get to the associate who was handling returns that day. I first explain that the shoes are not anything like the online picture and then proceed to explain the story about how the online ordering system accepted my code for the tote one day after the tote promotion and her big customer service deed of the day was to say "I'm sorry, the computer shouldn't have accepted the code because we were all out. There was a very high demand for that tote." Really? Ya think? What did DSW get, five totes for the entire country? C'mon now. Didn't bother to give me a discount coupon or get the manager involved. Wow, she really went above and beyond to keep me as a customer (sarcasm). I know everyone cannot possibly get a tote, like I said. I know supplies will run out, but I had no reason to believe that they were out of totes in the online ordering center. Never again. DSW isn't the only shoe store in town or online. read more

Lots of problems at DSW world headquarters by the Columbus airport. Their computer system is a cobbled together piece of junk that creates problems for online shoppers every day; can't order online and cannot use rewards online are the most common. Too many shoes ,shipped from DSW store to another DSW store, are badly worn,pre-owned or falling apart.Recently at the call center here in Columbus ,they fired a disabled guy who couldn't quite grasp their computer system. It is a great place for quantity and variety, also quality seems pretty good from my experience. I have always loved DSW and have spent hundreds and hundreds of $ in the Easton store. Today was my first time since they remodeled, and organized that store. I was completely disappointed in the entire process and lack of employees or customer service. It a Saturday morning after Black Friday, holiday shopping time. The store was not busy. No employees available to locate the left shoes we have to have from the back room to complete the pair. Then when they do get you shoe, they have to hang out with you until you make a decision so they can't help anyone else till your done. We had decided on a pair of men's boots and another pair of kids boots and he said he'd put my name on them at the registers while we continued to shop. So we found a pair of women's boots, again we needed a clerk to go get the left boot, different clerk this time, she also took those boots to the front I told her the name and we continued to make decisions on 2 more pair of women's tennis shoes. When I went up to pay I had 2 pairs of tennis shoes in my arms and 3 pairs of boots being help up front. They had to look and Look for my boots, finally found the 2 pair of boots in separate places around the back register cupboards, looking in cabinets and behind doors. They could not find the kids boots. And Never did, so my shopping partner went back to the department and thought she found another pair. Ok all done and paid for over $500 in 5 pairs of shoes and boots. Got out to the car and the kids wanted to put on their new purchases, the kids boot box we had just hunted down for the 2nd time had a size 2 and a size 13 size boots in the same box. So back into the store we go. Through out the 90 minutes or so we were in the store, everyone we came in contact with could not have cared less, horrible attitudes, and while I was up at the front registers trying to find all out saved boots the entire service situation was handled so poorly, no supervisor was called or stepped up to assist. Easton I know your volume has to be way off, if you want to know why, contact me! There was absolutely no customer service in that store today. No one cared. You went from a self serve store to a service store but don't have the staff or training to back it. Sadly I had kids with me who really needed boots for Christmas or I would have walked out and taken my business elsewhere. I assure you next time I will! read more

I don't know why, but DSWs in Columbus have some of the best selection of anywhere I've seen (I'm including NYC). The overall store is enormous, and it's well decorated so that it doesn't feel like a normal discount shoe store. Check out the clearance items in the back - these have colored price tags that correspond to a certain percentage off, and you can find huge savings on good brands. read more

Okay so I visited the Easton DSW last week because I had ordered several pairs of shoes online and needed to make some exchanges. I get there and judging for the outside view alone, I wasn't sure what to expect. Doors open...and WOW!!! I mean I didn't know where to find the registers this place was so huge! Everywhere I turned shoes, sandals, boots, flats, everything you could possibly want in several shoe stores-all huddled in just one. I honestly don't know why I bothered with shopping online.
