I learned of DTV Installations via Angie's List and could not be happier with the service they provided. I had about 5 AV firms out to the new apartment to discuss my options and quote the appropriate and most cost effective solution for what I was looking for. John showed up on time, was incredibly nice and patiently answered the 50 questions I had for him. We worked together and came up with the best solution for my budget. They were very flexible and coordinated scheduled with the other contractors I had working on my apartment. What I particularly appreciated was DTV's willingness to keep perfecting my system until it was working correctly. All of these automated solutions are heavily dependent on a strong wireless internet connection - and living in a city the interference from other networks and elevators etc can block signals from different wireless devices differently. We had some interference with the original setup, and John swapped out the original equipment for a different brand wireless router until we had the correct combination, and now its all working incredibly well. A very positive experience, I would recommend DTV Installations LLC without reservation. They ordered all the necessary equipment, delivered it, unpacked it, and took away all the packing material, a big plus for us - we told them what we thought we wanted, and made adjustments based on DTV's recommendations. This was a fairly big job, most of which was done over 3 - 4 days in one week - some equipment was on backorder, but was installed promptly once it was received. There were some challenges due to the construction of our building (poured concrete) but all were resolved quickly - internet and wireless sound system work perfectly in all areas of the apartment, tv's are hung on the walls! We were unfamiliar with almost all of the components of the entertainment system and the security system, they took the time to show us how to use them and answered all questions. Everything is working great, and I wouldn't hesitate to contact them if I have questions or want to make adjustments to the systems in the future. Very professional, very neat, very punctual. Let me start from this: this is the most Amazing company to work with. Dtv  installations did couple projects for us in our penthouse: Luxul wi-if setup, sonos whole home audio, Urc total control 7.2 home theater, Sonance 11.2 media room, Lurton automated roller shades and lights... And all of this is controlled by the most amazing Crestron automation system. We received multiple estimates from different AV companies, but Dtv were the most respectful and fair to us, always responded to their emails. They provided us with the free estimates and consultation along with the written proposal, everything was in details. The most present experience was that Dtv supplied all of the equipment , so we didn't have to shop around. After installation they explained everything to us how to use our new high end equipment , and provided us with the 1 year warranty.    We will defenetly use them in near future. read more

I contacted John with my request to have 2 TVs mounted on a wall with hidden wires. Weekday appointments are difficult for me and it was very easy to make a Saturday appointment. My appointment was early in the morning and John arrived right on the scheduled time. John explained what they were going to do and was helpful in determining the right location/height for where the TVs would be mounted. The cables that I had were not long enough and John was able to supply the cables for no additional charge. When they finished mounting the TVs, they were very thorough in their cleaning up. Before John left told me that my TV had a feature where I could identify and label all of the inputs/devices connected to the TV and he did all of the labeling. It was a great experience. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! These guys are amazing. They installed a home automation system in my house; integrated it with my cameras, intercom, and audio (installed it as well), lights and HVAC. Now I am able to control everything through my IPAD. Great communication and a prompt estimate. They ran all the wires and cables while my basement was in the process of being finished. Waited for completion of basement (about a month later) and they returned to install the remainder of the job. Again, the communication was wonderful and the work was done very well and timely. I've been dealing with them for more than two years now from the first week I brought my house. I also referred friends and family. John and his team is exceptional. Absolutely fantastic job. I picked DTV-Installations as a suggestion from Amazon after I put a TV mount for my 60" TV in the cart. I expected to get a basic service with a cable organizer at most but instead I got back home and found out they not only did the job I expected, but went above and beyond by running the cables thru the wall using proper cable tubing and even installed a wall plate all at no extra cost. I really enjoyed working with EVERYONE at DTV. This was the first time I have ever needed to mount a TV in NYC, and a lot of folks will charge you thousands to do this for a few TV sets. DTV accommodated our request for a mounting on very short notice, produced an insurance certificate quickly, and came and did their work extremely quickly and with absolute perfection. And finally, after all was said and done, the price was great - about $1200 for 2 TVs with all materials labor and tax included. Let me pre-face with this was not an easy job. The team took great care in mounting the TV over the fireplace, running wiring down into the basement, and setting up and IR extender in the basement. The guys arrived on time for the appointment, asked a few preliminary questions of how I wanted everything set up, and then got to work. Excellent. Just had some security cameras installed on the front of the house by these guys. I called to ask about availability, pricing, etc. They came the next morning right on time and quickly got to work. They helped me with placement of the cameras, got them installed (drilling into brick), terminated the Cat 6 cables and aimed the cameras right where I wanted them. I also purchased the Amazon Local deal for TV mount installation. The guys did an amazing job. All the wires were hidden behind the wall. The mount was included and they even threw in an extra HD cable for me. Very reasonably priced and excellent work. Showed up on time and called a half hour before to confirm the appointment. Just finished having DTV re-arrange my media center. They got rid of components I did not want any more (record player), added some speakers that I never connected, and even put in a new mouse on my computer. Purchased an amazon local deal for tv wall installation with wire concealment and wall mount included. Shawn was very professional, worked with the existing furniture and area, and did a clean job.
