I needed a custom sized piece of glass and I was taken care of quickly and professionally. I was happy to pay a little extra than I would at a big box store and here's why. I didn't have to wander around trying to find someone to help, I probably would've been sold the wrong glass. After explaining what I needed the glass for, he explained why I needed something stronger and thicker. Make two trips and waste a ton of time or go to a pro who knows what they're doing? Ok. so I am so grateful for Duarte Glass. I was moving out of our business locale and of course as they were moving out the last heavy desk, the glass front door closes and hits a corner of the desk cracking the glass. I didn't want to deal with an angry landlord (and I wanted all of my security deposit back). I called Duarte glass. He seemed to the point but still empathetic. He asked me to measure the door. The door is 8 ft tall, glass was 7 ft. and of course not standard. So he told me he had to special order it on the phone. He gave me the price before he even saw it. Wow. Still some people in the service business with class! I was in Pasadena on business, and my outside rear view mirror fell out when I shut my door. 300 miles from home, not looking forward to driving home blind on one side. My last stop was across the street from Duarte Glass. It was Friday, after 4pm So I thought I would at least ask. Not only did the owner cut a replacement, he glued it back in & gave me a place to sit down & plug in my laptop while I waited for the glue to dry! I've been driving by this little shop since I was in 3rd grade. I always thought it was nice and cute but I never had the need of calling them until recently. I made an appointment to have the older guy come to my house to check out a cracked window glass. When he came over he wasn't the nicest person, which is fine. I'm just trying to get my glass replaced, I'm not here to judge someone's character. The estimate he gave me was more than double what I was expecting so he definitely caught me off guard. I wasn't planning on spending so much money and after I thought about it for a few minutes, I apologized to him and asked him if I could call him back in a few hours to confirm after I worked out my finances. Without saying a word he turned around like a teenaged girl and put his hand in the air in a ridiculing way and began to walk off. He then said thanks for wasting my time. I cannot believe he said and did that! It was so so rude! I was genuinely going to call him back after I cleared my situation, but definitely not now! read more
