Typically free liquor samples - although don't go crazy if you have a long flight! Decent food options. Free and decent wi-fi. What's not to like. More importantly, having now once gotten stuck overseas due to customs being closed in the US, knowing you'll complete customs here on the front end is a huge plus. Factor that in to your travel plans (don't worry, TSA pre-check and Global Entry are in full swing). I loved being able to just 'walk out' after arriving back in the states from Dublin.

Leaving Dublin for the US was also efficient. First you go through security then US Customs. So when you arrive in US you do not have to go through customs. The Customs officials were thorough and nicer than the US. Unfortunately the Liffey lounge with access through priority pass is not accessible after customs. The map is misleading. It appears that it is by the gate at Gate 400 but there isn't a gate 400. One lounge is in the terminals but needs to be reserved on line. No reservations were available at 7 am day of our flight. It is also not available on priority pass. Important to note: Once you go through customs, you cannot go back! After customs, there was minimal food and shopping. A few small duty free kiosks, 1 restaurant, a few coffee shops with little food options, and a small WH Smith. We could only find 1 water refilll station. Bathrooms were crowded.

I'm traveling and Dublin is by far the WORST airport I have been to. There's zero room to sit and…read moreif you happen to find a spot, it's a painful metal chair. I'm pregnant and need to bring my feet up between international flight. This is the most unfriendly airport towards the elderly, pregnant women, and those with disabilities. I explored the entire airport for 4 hours and there's not even ONE area with minimally a carpeted floor to sit on to bring your feet up. This isn't traveler friendly at all. They treat people like cattle. Sad to see.

Pretty easy airport to get around. Not many moving escalators so expect to be walking a lot between…read moreterminals and gates. When I visited there was a lot of construction going on and there were several stairs to take. Recommend grabbing food when you see it when your traveling from one gate to another because once you get to your gate, the food options diminish greatly. Not that easy to find if you haven't been before. Acres of free parking with the 1st floor restaurant in the main terminal building overlooking the ramp and runway. The restaurant, recently rebranded as Derbys but looks the same to me, was quiet as was the field. My companion ordered the full Irish and I asked for scrambled eggs on/in toast (see below) His breakfast was the usual mix of sausage, bacon, egg, mushrooms and beans. My eggs were something else. I'd never had a scrambled egg sandwich before with a handful of crisps on the side. Peculiar to say the least. The server put it down to my saying scrambled egg IN toast as opposed to scrambled egg ON toast. Nope, me either. That said, a perfectly adequate repast accompanied by plenty of coffee and good chat passed a pleasant hour or so. Whilst I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here, it's not bad and a reasonable fuel stop.

As a birthday present for my boo (new way to say my boyfriend:) I got a voucher for an hour flying…read morelesson. He didn't know until we arrive at the aerodrome ! 1* For the Staff : I was in contact with John Nugent from the moment I booked the voucher on groupon in October 2015. The weather being what it was, there was no way we could fly. But John kept in touch and he was very kind. Last week we planned the flying lesson for the next weekend. This morning he called me before the lesson to confirm. So professional and nice ! 1* For the preparation : They are obviously used to have couple coming over. The girl get a voucher for her man to fly. That's funny actually ! So we got our yellow jackets to go out on the airfield. The instructor explained everything about the plane to mister while I was chatting to a lovely man about planes and the conditions to fly. After 14 minutes the plane took off. 1* For the flight : The flight lasted 45 minutes. I will write more when I get the details :) 1* For the waiting room : Whiler mister was flying I took pictures and wrote my review. The reception room is big and warm. On one side there is a little cafeteria where I could sip on a cuppa while waiting for my man to come back. The prices are really cheap and everybody is lovely. It looks like a family place where people gather around their hobby and have a good time really ! 1* For the organization : While I was waiting I could tell the schedule is well organized. People arrive, check in, wait for a bit, and while they wait the staff comes to update how long is left to wait. I really appreciated that. It makes all the difference and customer really feel taken care of ! This was such a great idea for a birthday present ! I think I will probably try myself sometime soon.
