We placed an order for delivery through uber eats. A breakfast sandwich and dozen donuts. Took over an hour to arrive and the only thing that was delivered was the sandwich. The driver said that all he got from the store was just the sandwich. The sandwich was cold, soggy, and not very flavorful. Overall disappointing, and I really was expecting better given my very positive experience having visited the original location in NC. Will not be ordering delivery from here again. read more

If I order a small cup of coffee and the girl at the counter can't get it half filled with the old coffee in the carafes, yes, I'm going to want you do do what you have to do to get me a cup of coffee with no room for cream. So when she brewed a fresh pot, instead of pouring out the old cold coffee she merely topped off my half empty cup. When I asked her to por it out, she just looked at me. [UPDATE 04.27.17] I gave this location a second try and when it has the least foot traffic, on a Thursday morning at about 6:45-ish a.m. There were 3 young men in the store that greeted me and were very helpful when deciding on a selection. This location has my vote for all 5-stars because of not only their AWESOME donuts that never fails but their customer service. p.s. After giving my guys at the office the donut boxes, which none of them have ever heard of such deliciousness, they, too will now be visiting your location. Honestly the best donuts I've ever had. How are they so warm, soft, and delicious?? As other reviews have noted, it can take a while if you order in person so highly recommend ordering ahead of time and picking up. Haven't had any issues with it and the order has always been exact. My first memory of trying duck donuts was at the OBX, NC. Such great memories we left with. So, when we moved here to Alexandria, of course I was excited to relive the ora of soft, warm, donuts in my mouth. I should've took a picture...these donuts was sloppy and the box was full off glops of hard thick glazes. It just didn't look right. The friendliness of the staff lacked BIG time. When I asked if they had anymore order forms to fill out, they looked at me like I was crazy. BTW, they didn't have any at all. And if you are like me, I have to try more than 12 different types---so kinda hard to just spit out what you want opposed to filling out a form. One star, because if I could give half a star I would. Literally, I was there for 50 minutes. Ealier today, I was doordashing and the order had already been placed 20 minutes before I got there. When I went to ask for the order, the lady that helped me said they hadn't made it yet & that it was being made, so I took a seat and waited. After about 10-15 minutes, I went up to ask another associate for an update on the order; while I was there, I noticed somebody was being trained and they were struggling to make someone else's order. After I noticed, they came up to me and said they were still working on it, I asked "how long for my order?" And they said "we're very busy right now & we're trying. Please give us 5 more minutes." I waited about 10 more minutes and saw them slowly give other people their orders since the store was already full when I got there. I went up again to ask for another update and I was told the order was being made but there was no other update to my order. The person being trained said "they're making it now." I felt very upset because I was told it was already being made and I was on a timer since I was doordashing. The senior employee told me that it would be ready in another 5 minutes. By then, I was very impatient and ready to leave but I was waiting for the food because of the doordash order. It eventually came out. This was my first time visiting this particular Duck Donuts location, but I have been to another location in Arlington a few times. I appreciate how much bigger and much more room this location has. My favorite part about this chain is that the donuts are always hot and fresh, and never stale (like DD at the end of the day ...). The donuts do tend to be on the smaller side, and you can really eat them in about 3-4 bites. No idea if machines are broken or whats going on but theres zero communication and two people that look clueless. I asked for a refund and the kid didn't even know how to do that. Usually the service is always great. However when my sister and I went tonight, it felt very uninviting. We were not greeted when we first walked in. The cashier didn't say a word the whole time as we were ordering, didn't let us know the price and after we paid the receipt was given to us in a rude way.
