The customer service was excellent and so genuine that I felt like I was friends with the staff in my personal life and I was just coming for a visit lol! Now that's love! Lol The yummy, yummy sweets were a special treat. I ordered a customized set of donuts, but what made them special was their fresh, warm taste! I could tell that even if I didn't add toppings, the donut itself would still be amazing! I don't like my desserts too sweet, so I kept my toppings simple, but uniquely special to my individual taste and preference. I cannot wait to come back and order more! Love Duck Donuts! First time I ever had Duck Donuts was in OBX! I even brought home donuts from OBX to VA. I love the fact that all of the donuts are made to order and you can create your own kind of donut with different glazes and toppings. From what I remember, I thought the donuts were a heavier cake texture, but these donuts were lighter and softer on the inside. I do like the softer texture more. I couldn't find the form to fill out, so I went to the register to order. I got half a dozen with maple bacon, lemon coconut, glaze, blueberry, chocolate with rainbow sprinkles and cinnamon sugar. It cost around $7. All of these combinations were so good! read more

I took the kids in for a special treat after a doctor's appt. the basic dough tasted fine. The wait was excruciating and not many customers in the store at the time. I went to the pharmacy and made a Starbucks run in the time it took to get two specialty donuts from the menu. We had one with Oreo topping and another with just icing. My oldest daughter had Krispy Kreme for the first time in her life about a month prior and preferred that style. The little one enjoyed the Duck Donuts texture more but not the topping. CRAZY AWESOME DONUTS!!! I have never had an better donuts than here. Their donuts should be the standard for the donuts industry. I can't eat other donuts since I've had theirs. Must try the maple bacon and the blueberry donuts. They are just so awesome. Their secret is actually the donut dough itself. It's not the typical dough of donuts but it's a bit more crumbly with a very soft feeling. It's just incredible. Of course their price is higher than the average donut places probably because of the quality and time they put it to fry and make each one of them so that's ok. The much anticipated Duck Donuts is finally open for business. The donuts are made fresh on the assembly line which customers can see while waiting for their order. There is an order form near the front door for you to select your order of how you want the donut made. You can select a Topping, Coating and Drizzle. What they don't tell you is: (1) Toppings can also be used as a Drizzle option; (2) There is a specialty menu they keep behind the counter with pictures so you can hand pick already custom designed donuts made fresh. Ask to see it. They also have a complimentary cold water container where you retrieve your donuts. It seems as if they feel it with ice and it slowly melts to have water available. I tried the hot chocolate (med $2.95) but it was watery. I will not be ordering the hot chocolate anymore. The donuts cost $1.35+tax each or 1/2 dozen for $7.50+tax. Since this was just opened this week the lines are constantly full - sometimes spilling over outside the door. The store only has one napkin box on the counter where you retrieve the donuts. Since customers are freely grabbing napkins there should be at least 2 containers for napkins available. Everyone appears to be in a happy mood. The person who customizes your donuts will bring it to you for viewing to ensure you are happy with the product. Any problems will be handled before your donuts are turned over to you. If you have not tried Duck Donuts then it's definitely worth checking out. Standard vanilla cake donuts but then you can add hundreds of variations of toppings (icings, cookie crumbles, etc). This Duck Donuts location is the same as all others in terms of offerings, but the staff are super friendly (hence my rating). We come here A LOT (my kid is obsessed with sprinkle donuts) and aside from the occasional staff member with a case-of-the-Mondays, they are always smiling and always happy to help (all the options can be overwhelming the first time you order!) The owner of this location always seems to be working there as well, which we like since it's always nice to support local small business (even if it is a part of the mega franchise). I tried these doughnuts by accident. My children and I were on a road trip and we had to use the restroom. I'm not the biggest sweet eater but I do indulge at times. However, I absolutely make it count so whatever sweet I eat it better be worth it. Well my kids asked me for a doughnut and I said ok. I made this big deal out of not being able to eat the entire doughnut bc I didn't want a head ache from the sugar and decided just to take a piece. I wanted to like these donuts so badly because of all the positive reviews, but am so disappointed. I ordered a box of 12 to go and when I came to pick them up, the icing was melted on almost all of them, so there was icing all over the box and coating all the donuts. The toppings were sliding off. I would give it zero stars but one worker named ricardo was doing good. He seemed to be doing everything. There was also someone eating in the back of the store while it was kind of busy. I'm not sure if she even worked there. The tables were very messy and the lady at the front desk didn't have proper customer service skills. Amazing. Such a great concept - fresh donuts made-to-order! The machine was fun to watch (drops a glop of dough into the fryer, flips it, and deposits them into a basket), and then there are a bunch of glazes and toppings to choose from. I ordered a dozen to share with family, but had the chocolate glazed one before leaving the store - which was such a good decision. I don't think I've ever had a donut that fresh - IT WAS AMAZING. So, you can get great donuts and great coffee. The variety of donuts and toppings includes glaze, nuts, powder sugar, chocolate, and coconut. Service is fast, and there is some seating by if you are in a hurry for that first bite of donut. The service is friendly and the donuts are prepared with care. This particular location needs to work on their quality. I love Duck Donuts and most other locations in the area are on par with the original. This location does a poor job with the toppings, which stinks for a place that's purely based on custom orders. At least the quality of the flavor is the same as everywhere. Surprising how dirty the place was, considering there were six employees on the floor. Of those six, only two were actually doing anything, while the other four stood huddled together gossiping. The donuts were fresh, warm, and then sloppily topped/made and put into a box, where all the different flavored donuts rubbed together and swapped flavors with each other. We've been to other duck donuts in other states, and this was by far the least impressive experience.
