These guys have the best kunefe in the DC area, hands down. We drive 20 minutes just to get it. Nowhere else even comes close, to be honest. The servers are really nice as well! They made kunefe Nabulsi (with the crispy kataifi on top) just for me, and explained how to say the names of the different things in Arabic. It's a nice atmosphere, too. I was craving Kunafa and we had not tried this place yet so we decided to give this place a go! It actually helped me discover a really cool area with a lot of middle eastern restaurants, shops and cafés. It was a very lively area. We got two classic Kunafa's and a slice of cake that had a piece of baklava on it, which we found to be very unique. We did do pick up so by the time we arrived home the kunafa was not as crispy as I like. But still pretty good. I may need to sit and eat it there next time to truly get the taste. I tried Kunafe for the first time almost a decade ago in NYC and it changed my whole perspective on desserts and now ranks in my top 5 best desserts. The last time I had in was in the Middle East in Qatar but it was just okay, so I was glad to learn about Jenin pastry. Finally, an authentic place to have Knafeh! I've been craving it and wanting to have it at a legit spot. Jenin Pastry serves Palestinian and Middle Eastern sweets. There are so many options to choose from- thankfully, I knew what I wanted, but there aren't labels or prices listed in store. Of course, I got one slice of knafeh. I wanted to try something else too- I got some triangular phyllo pastry filled with cream (unsure of name). Both pastries were delicious, but definitely the knafeh is a must! I really love the pastries here--they're always fresh and delicious. Most of the staff are kind and welcoming, and Ahmed in particular is always so warm and wonderful. That said, the woman working Sunday around 1:45 PM was incredibly unpleasant. She came across as abrasive, impatient, and like she didn't want to be there at all. My favorite middle eastern bakery in this area!! Sometimes we go overboard and order toooo much, but we'll make it last the week, if we can control ourselves. Their kunafa is the best in town. I had this delicious Kunafeh from Jenin Pastry. I believe they had two types of Kunafeh - soft (Na'aami) Kunafeh and crunchy (Isanbouli) Kunafeh. I loved the crunchy Kunafeh and would rate it 10/10; it's a must-try. The soft Kunafeh was okay. The place is really beautiful and has variety of middle eastern desserts. this is the best place to get knafeh in the nova area!!!! The cheese is perfectly melted, but not too greasy, and the flavor is not too sweet. It can take a while to receive your order since there can be a long wait for the knafeh (every time I went there were several people ahead of me, trying to get the same item lol). However, the owners are always pulling out fresh trays of knafeh it is always worth the wait. There is plenty of seating and they also offer plenty of other snacks. If you haven't been here and you're looking for knafeh, this is THE place!! I come here all the time when I'm in the area, sometimes I even drive 1hour and 10 mins from my house to get knafeh here. I am sooo obsessed with it!! They have 2 kinds of knafeh that I have no idea the names but one has a crispy top and one has a more breaded top- I always get the crispy top one, you just cant beat it. They have a variety of Arab pastries, I'm long overdue in trying something other than the knafeh. Last time I came, I believe I spoke with the owner and he was a super nice and cool guy! The crust was perfectly sweet with a slight crunch that complimented the cheese very well. We also ordered the Ballorieh Pistachio, Baklawa Kajo Square, Baklawa Kajo, Ballorieh Walnut, and Syrian Warbat. The phyllo dough was sweet and super flakey. Authentic and damn good! Popped in here for some evening sweet tooth cravings and left highly gratified! Jenin's has a wide variety of sweets from baklava, biscuits/cookies, kunafa, and qatayef. All are dangerously good! I tried the kunafa nablusiah and 1 qatayef, along with some black tea. The sweets were wonderful and reminded me of those back home. The interior was small but had a family feel that created a homey atmosphere. Served warm in the restaurant, this was a fantastic dessert that I would not hesitate to get again.
