This is my first time visiting this particular location and I have to say the menu here does seem a bit more expanded than the other ones I've been to. I don't know if its specific to this location or if this is a new thing. The donuts are amazing and can just say adding a drizzle on top was just a plus. The donuts are made to order so please keep that in mind when you see a lot of people waiting during peak times. Overall a great place for donuts not much in the way of seating and it can seem a bit congested when you have people waiting to order and people waiting to get their donuts. Go now. Until they opened this location I'd only had Duck Donuts once previously. I told everyone I knew how amazing it was. Warm cake donuts fresh out of the oven dipped and made however you want them. When I found out they were opening 1 close I knew I was in trouble. I've already been there twice. Service is quick and friendly. It does get busy and you will wait in line but they keep it moving. Each time I picked up my glorious dozen treats the worker smiled and explained what each was. Overrated. This place has gone downhill since the last few times I went. They failed to put the correct toppings on some of the signature donuts. Best donut idea out there. Made to order so its hot and fresh every. single. time. I usually just get the vanilla frosting with rainbow sprinkles and when it comes from the box the frosting is still piping hot. The donut itself should be considered a cake since it practically melts in your mouth. If you don't like cake then this may not be your donut to try. I gave this 5 stars because customer service is excellent every time I come, the donut is always flawless and the wait time is reasonable for a fresh donut. First, why have we as society not thought of made-to-order donuts sooner? Or have I just been oblivious to this wonderful culinary concept? At Duck Donuts we watched from behind the glass as the batter dropped into the fryer, traveled along a wire conveyer belt, and slid into a basket where the fresh donuts waited to be dressed in sauces, drizzles, and toppings. Our group ordered a half dozen donuts for a little less than $8 a box. These were freshly made in-store cake donuts that were still warm once served, something you can't get at Dunkin Donuts. From our box, I sampled a bite of the Pumpkin Pie donut, which didn't leave me with a lasting impression. And, the second I tried was the Peanut Butter/Chocolate Fudge combination. This one was rather rich, so make sure you really have an appreciation for peanut butter (which I do). The one I personally ordered was the lemon icing with raspberry drizzle. The tart lemon icing paired with the sweet raspberry topping was a stellar combination. Be prepared to wait in a line. Even at about 30 minutes till close there was a hefty line to endure. Every donut I've ever had here has come out hot, fresh, and delicious. Even when I grab a bucket and take them to Arlington, they're still delicious even though they're no longer warm (bc, traffic). They reheat very well in the microwave, though! And for those times I've picked last out of a bucket I've bought, and I get a flavor that I wouldn't have ordered to begin with, it's STILL delicious. I don't think there's a bad combination of flavors that exists. If you're getting a dozen or more, just ask the staff to pick the combos for you. The Potomac Town Place location is disgusting and the customer service is a -0. I went there this morning for coffee, I was the only person in there and no one greeted me. After 5 minutes, I asked were they open and Vladimir said yes. So, I asked may I order coffee he said yes it'll be 2 minute before I could order but the coffee was ready. Vladimir continues to train a new employee before taking my order. Then after 7 minutes he comes to take my order. After, I paid he says there's no coffees I'd have to wait for the coffee ti be made. The three stars I am giving this shop are based on the appearance and cleanliness as well as the food. We had a donut, a bottle of water and a donut Sunday with whipped cream which came to $8 and some change, the donuts were warm and fresh and we enjoyed them very much. The price was ok to. I have a donut obsession and typically do not go to chain stores whenever traveling that being said this has only been my second visit to duck donuts. The only downfall is that they are best when eaten immediately in my opinion, i.e. I didn't enjoy eating them later at room temp. The Woodbridge location is meh, mediocre and manky compared to the original donut store and it's donut product. Last night we came in for an after dinner treat. One of my favorite donut places! It's great for the home or the office and trust me, your coworkers will LOVE you when you arrive with a dozen of these babies! I like my donuts pretty plain but you can customize as much or as little as you want. I usually get a cinnamon sugar donut with vanilla glaze. When I bring these bad boys into the office, I normally opt for "the bucket." It's 18 donuts instead of just a dozen. Every holiday, they have different kinds of festive donuts. Right now, they're featuring a St Patty's Day theme. So lots of green sprinkles. All their donuts are made on the spot and right in front of you. I never was a fan of the "gourmet cupcake" movement (thankfully it appears that fad is ending) and I view the emerging "gourmet donut" movement with equal disdain. However, I decided to try Duck Donuts and came away pleasantly surprised! I purchased two donuts (around $1.40 each) and was initially confused at the order process. I believe all of Duck's donuts start out as plain deep fried donuts, which you then customize with a generous array of toppings. They categorize the toppings into three groups. One group is the coatings (icing, cinnamon/sugar, etc.), a second group of toppings (bacon, coconut, Jimmies, etc.), and a third group of "drizzles". The ability to customize each donut is nice, but I suspect it would get a bit annoying if you order a dozen or more. My two donuts were good, and worth the relatively low cost. They didn't seem very greasy and had decent texture. The quantity of toppings was also pretty good. While I won't say Duck Donuts turned me into a gourmet donut lover, I did enjoy my two donuts. read more

Novel concept for a mediocre donut. While hot, the donuts were undercooked and just your basic donut. The drawback to a hot donut is also in the sheer mess they make with what turns out as runny icing on a limp donut that is hard to pick up.
