Hands down our favorite experience of our trip to OC. The kids are still talking about how much fun they had even on a somewhat rainy day. Great for kids the pirates are funny, BUT BEWARE!!!! You will get SOAKED!! They shoot everyone with water canons and you will get wet a lot. Do not get your dinner clothes and hair fixed and go to this first you'll have to change. We had a great time though and would recommend it. For many years we contemplated doing this activity with our 2 boys...and now that they are 3 and 5 we decided that this was the year, especially because the 3 year old was still half off of the regular price. We took the 12:30 cruise on a Saturday and it was not very packed at all so that was nice. I'm figuring Saturday is probably a good day to go because that's when most people are leaving/coming to OCMD on their vacations. We still pre-booked online just in case. We reported to the dock a half hour before and lined up. They of course came around and took our pictures so they could later try and sell us the picture upon leaving. As the time drew near, 3 'pirates' approached and started their 'show'. I say pirates with quotes because these guys didn't have your stereotypical pirate wear on. They were like hippie pirates...kind of in pajama pants and shirtless. No hats, eyepatches or swords. That was my only issue with the entire thing. They were quite pleasant and knew their stuff and entertained us all, they just didn't seem like pirates to me. I don't want to give away too much about what goes on while your on the ship, but it was fun and my kids were really entertained. It's definitely worth the ride if your kids are into pirate kind of stuff. They also have water cannons on the boat and you can blast people with them during the battle with the pirate that comes up to the ship....so be prepared to GET WET! read more

The kids had a great time on this ship! I took my 3yr old, a 6 yr and a 10yr old. All of them had fun, especially when the pirate comes up beside the boat and shoots water at them. Parents you may get wet but not soaked, as long as you move out of the way of the line of fire. Look for coupons in the brochures offered at hotels, they apply the coupon to each person. Few short facts: price is $20 for anyone over 3. They will not take off unless there is more than 10 paying customers. Finally, you and everything you own will get soaked! We brought our son here last week for the 230 show. Barely made it on board as it was almost cancelled and we're so happy we did. The staff was hysterical in a very cheesy way and it was obvious they loved being pirates. Two guys ran the ship. One to entertain the kids and the other to steer the ship. They would bicker back and fourth, telling jokes for the kids and the adults. A third guy came up on a little speed boat and started squirting everyone. The kids and adults ran to the cannons to get back at him. Beware ladies as there is "no sashaying on the deck" and you will be squirted as a result. After about 20 minutes of exchanging water the rival pirate finally gave up the booty and the kids got to enjoy some pirate related trinkets. The kids had a wonderful time and our son raved about it for days after. Its worth every penny if you have kids that are older however I am not sure if a child under 4 would remember or even enjoy it. read more

The captains and the wench have a cutesy corny script, but go through it SO so fast, it's hard to hear them, keep up with what they're saying and get the corny jokes. Slow down! The kids enjoyed the treasure map/hunt experience though and blasting the "bad guy" with the water cannons. Plan to get wet - actually more like fully soaked. Which is great on a hot day, but they target getting the parents wet -all in good fun- we were soaked to the point we had to go back and change before grabbing lunch! read more

By far the best experience in ocean city. My 4 year old had a blast and so did we. I can't say enough great things about it. Thought $20 PP was a little steep after we had paid closer to $50 total for our group of 4 on both the OC Rocket speed boat, and the Assateuge island tour, but now believe it was well worth it. The pirates spend the first 30-40 minutes putting on a play more or less, but involve all those on board. The kids got beards and tattoos drawn on (crayon-washed off easily) and the parents too. Toward the end is when the bad guy shows up, and as the captain warned at the dock, you WILL get wet. The kids will get a share of the treasure at the end too. Since they do all ask/work for tips, I didn't mind throwing them a $10 while departing. All in all, a good way to spend a few hours. read more

This was outstanding! The main pirate was hilarious and talented, making it an exciting and fun/rollicking time for parents and kids! Also the fight with the other pirate ship where they blasted us with water soakers and we fought with water cannons posted on the sides of the ship was amazing! This is one of the most accessible trips that I have done with my children. My five year old is on the spectrum and I was asking the ladies at the check in a few questions about the trip. We were scheduled to take another boat trip and I wanted to do the pirate ship after. The captain overhear me taking to the ladies and he made sure my son had the BEST trip. The crew is amazing and I have nothing bad to say about this crew and boat. I did get yelled at by a staff member for locking the bathroom door. She was upset because I was holding it up and her and her friends were drinking and obviously drunk. She was wearing a blue Mr. Ducks staff shirt with a white baseball cap. She was in her mid 50d and highly intoxicated. I had to lock the door because it was just me and my three children and we didn't fit in either stall. I had to lock the door to protect their privacy while using the rest room. Yes it took longer because I had to get all three of us to use the bathroom (both children are under 5 and needed assistance) prior to boarding the pirate ship. The Talbot in should not let their staff drink on duty it is completely unprofessional. I will review them separately but it was important to note here because if you take this trip you will use the Talbot in facilities. The Talbot inn staff is why the ship received four instead of five stars. read more

Not a bad way to spend an hour in OC when looking for a break from the beach. Ideal for ages 5 to 10. Paid $100.00 for family of five, but felt like it should be about $5 cheaper per person. Took my 6 year old and he ended up loving it. BUT the first 30 minutes or so he was bored to tears. I was worrying that it would be a bust and I would be out $20 per person (price pp 4 plus) but when the water battle started which was a pirate coming up on a smaller boat and shooting the kids and parents with a huge super soaker. The kids take turns using little water cannons to defend themselves, my son was shot in the face and its salt water. I was also soaked in the end. Everyone was. The kids and the adults enjoyed the duckaneer pirate ship. The kids were age 7 and 11. We liked that they only sell a limitted amount of tickets per sailing. It is not over crowded, and seemed to have enough seating for adults, as the kids are seated around the treasure map ont he floor. They have a chance to spray a small pirate boat with water and win treasure. It was very enjoyable for all. Keep in mind everyone will probably get wet! As an added bonus, we saw the wild ponies of assateague while on this excursion. Well worth the money. read more
