Ducks was the highlight of our night! The atmosphere was fantastic, people were dancing, the music was great, and the energy was exactly what you'd hope for in a beach bar. The drinks were strong, reasonably priced, and made right. A special shoutout to Michelle behind the bar. She was friendly, attentive, and kept the drinks coming with a smile all night. Great bartender and a big reason we had such a good time. If you're deciding between places, skip the empty bars (like Sky Bar across the street) and head to Ducks. Really love the live bands but the place is super crowded and drinks are a bit pricey. The crowd tends to get younger and more obnoxious as the night goes on. We enjoyed the live music and danced all night despite the crowd. read more

Everyone was nice from the front door to the bar. Service was great! My mix drink was good and in a medium size styrofoam cup (which was bigger than the served cups at the bar across the street). They had a live band playing a mixture if music. The restrooms were clean. They have seating outside. Give 4 stars because not alot of seating inside. read more

I had a nice time at Ducks with an unexpected excellent cover band, the Mark Roberts band. The lead singer has tremendous range; he was capable of singing Steve Perry and Michael Jackson. People of all ages were dancing. Drinks were good. I stick mostly to bottle beer as it is hard to water that stuff down unless you drink Mich Ultra (guilty as charged--wish they carried Mich Ultra Amber). I had a couple of shots that were okay and woke up without a headache. No comment on parking as I cabbed it to the venue from my hotel. There are two sections of Ducks: the dance club, and then the restaurant. When we walked in there were no other people in the restaurant. We did arrive a little late for a typical dinner but most places at the beach are still open and lively at these hours. We sat at the bar and ordered quickly. All of their seafood is fried. I didn't think this would be a problem but when my food arrived I took the scallops out of the breading and tried to avoid the fried parts at all cost. I was unable to stomach the oysters. The woman told us that the scallops are frozen, the oysters are local and fresh, maybe that's why I disliked the taste of them. I beg to differ here: we spent almost 1 week at the beach and I devoured all types of local seafood (fish and shellfish) and did not have any reactions to any other seafood. Typically if you have an issue with part of your meal they'll either offer to make you something else, or take it off the check. This wasn't the case here, either. We couldn't leave fast enough and we will never return. read more

Our condo was right around the corner from this spot and my group and I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the ducks double cheeseburger with wings . The wings were a bit disappointing bcuz they basically fried my wings then dumped parmesan on top. Other than that it was good. Friendly staff as well . read more

Ducks is the happening place in OD most nights. Especially with the over 50 crowd. I felt like I was in a Twilight Zone episode where I walked back in time 30 years to one of the bars I frequented in college: same music (beach, funk, dance from a tight band), and the same crowd only everyone was 30 years older, but still partying hard. People come here to dance and have a good time. If you're over 50 and want to re-live your youth, you may want to check Ducks out. read more

If you want to catch COVID, Duck's is the place for you. A group of 8 vaccinated people went to Ducks last weekend. Despite everyone being vaccinated, two caught COVID (so far). Zero masking and zero social distancing make Duck's the perfect COVID hotspot. I'm about 40 and was one of the younger people there, so the odds of everyone being alive in two months is significantly less than 100%. If you want to increase your odds of catching COVID while listening to 70s and 80s music, it's your spot. read more

I've been going to Ducks for years, my parents are Shaggers and I grew up loving the dance and the shag community - I shag myself now. A friend and I visited Ducks last night, and were shocked and horrified to hear bigotry and racism coming from the DJ. He first used the word "fagot" in referring to Carolina Panthers fans, and then later literally cut off a song to get a young black man off the floor after publicly disregarding him from the mic. We are not living in 1940. Fagot long ago became an unacceptable term. People of all races have the same rights, including to your dance floor. Join the 21st century and don't allow discrimination, judgment, narrow-mindedness, and frankly stupidity, from your mics. read more

This is an institution in Ocean Drive (the heart of North Myrtle Beach). The other review talked about the food and service. The one time I've eaten there it was fine. But, it's mostly a party bar for shaggers and beach lovers. So, it's calling card is not the dinning experience. So, I give it a solid five stars for what it is: a good time beach bar that caters to the shag crowd. That said, as with most bars, timing is everything. When the crowd is right and/or they have a great band, the place is rockin'. Other times it may be so-so. In the end, it's always worth checking out Ducks if you're staying in NMB. read more

Walked into ducks for happy hour on a Monday and ended up having the best night of our trip! It's definitely a divey bar with lots of friendly locals enjoying "no shower happy hour". We sat in rockers out front and took advantage of their $3 margarita special and $1.50 tacos! A live band set up next to us and while I wouldn't say the singer was the best, she was entertaining and played lots of fun covers. Our waitress was hilarious and kept the drinks and apps coming. We only had nachos and beef tacos, but our food was fresh and when I walked inside the kitchen was open and looked clean. Inside seating was sort of around a carpeted dance floor and I wouldn't recommend eating there. Only bad thing to say is the homeless in the area come by frequently looking for cigarettes, but honestly we were having such a good time it didn't both us. This is a no frills bar with decent food and a chill atmosphere. We'll definitely be back! read more

Ducks is one of the Myrtle Beach clubs that are recognized as the home of the Shag. Accordingly, it gets a lot of clientele there for the dancing and the trip down memory lane. It has multiple bars, decent restrooms (for a bar), a small stage, dance floor and DJ booth. Compact but efficient. The music is good and the drinks are OK (more mixer than alcohol, but what do you expect). The dance floor is surrounded by railing, and at times, that gets in the way of a large dance crowd ... the rail should really come down. There is an attached café ... food is OK for bar food ... nothing to write about. read more

Absolutely boring. Only come here if you are over 55 and want drinks that have barely any alcohol in them. Not to mention the small cups weren't even filled to the top. Id bet most of the patrons were in the AARP. Definitely not worth the cover charge. We had one drink each and left promptly. Will never return here. read more

I'm sure it's a fun place to hang out but it's not the place to go eat. My wife and I stopped in because there was no wait and each ordered a burger. Seemed like it was a frozen patty on a bland roll. Chips were even still in the bag. Again probably a cool place to grab a beer and hang out but not eat. read more
