Very cool spot. Seems to be mostly locals. Good drinks, not expensive, friendly bartenders, ass kicking live music- what els could you possibly ask for?!

My husband and I, along with another couple, had a drink and some snacks here on Halloween night. We chose this place because it had live music on the deck. Sadly the deck was packed so we sat inside where we didn't have to worry as much about social distancing. From what we could tell the music on the deck was great, I just wish we could have enjoyed it more. We stayed a bit longer than we intended, due to the fact that they were having problems with kitchen staffing, but the food that we got (when we got it) was real good. My husband and I got deep fried pickles, they were plentiful and tasty. Our friends got a Philly cheesesteak sandwich, which they said was really good, and some onion rings (which they shared with us and were some of the best I've ever had). I had a "Drunken Parrot", which was pretty good, and my husband had a beer. Service was friendly.

Horrid. We came here on a Sunday when most places were closing down or had long waits. We didn't have high expectations judging from the appearance of the place. We sat outside since the weather was nice. Besides, there wasn't much available seating inside. The menu was simple, with a half-dozen or so items. That was fine with us. We chose just to have a hotdog and it was microwaved, burnt and tasted like c**p. Speaking of c***, we kept smelling this stench outside. Then we noticed an outhouse not far from us. And it was by no means smelling 'fresh' either. It was absolutely gross. Horrible food, and awful environment. Just gross. Only positive was that the server was nice.

We arrived at the establishment excited to eat and have fun. Instead, they didn't even put in our food because "the kitchen was full" but there was only half a restaurant full. There was barely anyone and no reason for the kitchen to be delayed. The orders came out at different times and they didn't even take some of orders; our waitress ignored the other half of our table. Would NOT recommend. Also this was the coleslaw. LOL.

It is just A-OK and does the trick for a drink/bite to eat after a long day of traveling in the car. Our condo was not ready yet since we arrived down in NMB early, and this bar shares the same parking with our condo rental company. Simple, no frills exterior, lots of older local folks drinking here, basic beer menu but lots of yummy cocktails to choose from, and a menu with lots of the traditional bar food. Nothing here was bad, it was all around just an average experience. Our server was quite friendly, the drinks and beers hit the spot, and the appetizer platter was good to split. Nothing overly remarkable was served, but again, it did the trick when we were all starving after 11 hours in the car. I did not use the restroom but my mother tried to and the women's was out of order and the men's room toilet was out of order, only a urinal so I have no idea how women are supposed to use the restroom here. So that was interesting to say the least. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat or drink here on vacation, but it was fine to kill some time while waiting for our condo to be ready to check into.

The drinks and the food were really good! I thought the quesadilla was going to be like the ones you get from taco bell which has nothing in it, but they put a lot of food in it! It was so filling I had some for leftovers. You would think by ordering the jalapeño poppers, beer battered fish and chips, chicken quesadilla, cherry cola cocktail and the jolly josh shooter that it would be am expensive bill but actually it was less than $15! Also the place is very likely with people playing billiard, music and watching shows. Definitely would come here again.

There's sometimes a wait because Hoskins is popular with locals, but we don't mind. On our last visit, Holly was our waitress, and she did a wonderful job. I ordered the bbq sandwich which came with Cole slaw and fries. There was a good size amount of meat, tender, with a sauce on the side. The sauce was in a more liquid form than thick. It was a little spicy for me but with the slaw, which was sweet it was a good thing. The fries like most places had a coating on them and were nice and crispy. None of my food was hot, but a good temp for me. Kids got grilled cheese which was a normal sandwich with applesauce. One had a cheeseburger but spoiled by fast food didn't like it. The adult with me said it was really good. Friend had the flounder sandwich with waffle sweet potato fries and hush puppies. Fries were very crispy. Sandwich ok. Service was good, they had kid menus and activity sheet. Prices are good. They give discount for cash pay, upcharge for credit card built into prices.

We each picked a couple items, and at first I was skeptical about how well such a mixed menu would come together. That skepticism didn't last long. What's impressive is how they manage to cover different cuisines and still execute them well. The shishito peppers came perfectly grilled and paired with an amazing sauce that really elevated them beyond a typical appetizer. The meatballs felt like something straight out of a family kitchen comforting, rich, and reminiscent of grandma-style cooking. The shrimp scampi was another standout: flavorful, well-balanced, and not overdone with butter or garlic. But the real highlight of the night was the pistachio espresso martini so smooth, creative, and easily one of the most memorable cocktails on the menu. Overall, it's a great spot for sharing plates and trying a little bit of everything. It turns what could feel like a scattered menu into a fun, consistently solid dining experience.

There was also live music playing, which really brought the place to life and made the atmosphere even more enjoyable. For food, we ordered the shrimp meal and the gumbo soup. The gumbo was delicious and packed with meat, very hearty and flavorful. My only complaint is that I asked for less meat due to an upset stomach, but they weren't able to accommodate that, which I understand. The crackers served with the soup also tasted a bit old and off. The shrimp, however, was very tasty and enjoyable. We attempted to visit LuLus on Thursday, but they were closed due to A/C issues. There was a sign outside saying they weren't going to be opening that day, or were opening late, or something to that effect. We were short on time, so we started looking around for somewhere else to eat at Barefoot Landing, pretty disappointed that we couldn't go to our favorite spot. That said, I saw there was a new place called Lulu's right around the corner. I checked out their menu, and it looked like a fun place to eat. The pictures of the food looked pretty good, so off we went. Upon arriving, the first thing that struck me was the big, open atmosphere of the establishment. It wasn't very cozy, but the hostess did greet us in a friendly manner and took us to our seats--which ended up being one of the worst aspects of this restaurant. I have never been more uncomfortable sitting in a restaurant in my life. I know that's a weird gripe, but these were some of the most uncomfortable chairs I've ever sat in. They hurt so bad. My kids were seated on the benches across from us, and they could barely even reach the table. My wife switched places with my son, and the benches were covered in what looked like footprints and dirt from people standing on them. Our server was very friendly and attentive. We started off with drinks. We all got soft drinks, and every single one of them was flat. We ordered the fried green tomatoes, and they were OK. The dipping sauce was great. My wife and son ordered the tacos, which they said were bland, tasteless, and pretty underwhelming. My daughter ordered a kids' cheeseburger, took one bite, and said it was disgusting. Unfortunately for me, I ordered one of the most expensive things on the menu: a seafood entrée where you get to pick two items. I picked the fish and oysters, both fried. Some of the oysters tasted like they were kind of rotten--very fishy. The fish itself was OK, but the breading they used was absolutely atrocious. It tasted like the oil hadn't been changed in weeks. The fry on the fish was dark and had an almost burnt, overly salty taste to it. Absolutely terrible. As we were about to leave, a live band started playing, and they sounded pretty nice. I wish they had been playing while we were still eating, but by that point we were so ready to get out of there. We were incredibly disappointed. The real shocker came when I got the check. For our family of four, it was almost $110 before the tip. This food was in no way worth that kind of price. I honestly would've rather gone to a fast-food restaurant. This place gets two stars simply because the staff we encountered were friendly and because of the live music. Otherwise, this is one of the most boring, aesthetically unappealing restaurants I've ever been in, with some of the worst overpriced food I've ever had. Never again. We definitely won't be back.
