Me and my family decided to go to señor frogs for dinner as a last resort. We walked in to a party ambiance. I thought it was pretty cool at first till the food came... I ordered boneless wings that came out cold and fries that were stale and cold. My mom had a burger. She says it's the worst burger ever. The Margarita that my step dad had was meh. Chips were also horrible. You have to pay $11 for a basket of chips! The menu also lies to you! Some items are for only day time and it doesn't even say that on the menu. After we finished what we could in our meal, my mom told our waiter that it was disgusting and horrible. He brought over the manager and he said to my mom that if she didn't like her burger why did she eat half of it, and if she didn't like it she should have called over him( he was never around) and he would have given her something else. They took off $8 of check but our meal was still $96 dollars for the whole meal for our family of four! And the barbecue sauce to dip fries in was $2! That should be free. I ordered the carnitas tacos, and they were flavorful, came as a set of three, and each had double tortillas, which I liked. Be aware that they automatically add gratuity to your bill and there was about $10 in tax added during the evening hours, so keep that in mind when budgeting. We picked Senor Frog's for Monday lunch time. We were the first ones to walk in as the restaurant just opened at noon. It was very colorful, clean and pleasant looking inside. There were outdoor seats both at front and at the back by the water. Very cool bar with their souvenir glasses hanging from the top. The chairs were colored with froggy green. The menu had all sorts of popular Mexican dishes. We started with Guacamole that came with crispy chips. Guacamole was decent but missed the hint of citrus. For entree I tried the trio fajitas. The side of rice was really good. But the four tacos were not as soft as I wanted. Among the trio, shrimp was the best, both chicken and steak were extra dry. I tried the blueberry lemonade as well, it was fantastic. The service was amazing. Our waitress checked on us multiple times. Food came out pretty quickly. It was a bit pricey place but understandably so. During the meal a lady came over to snap pictures with pro camera. They sell them in special Senor Frog's souvenir frame. We stopped by in between riding the rides and before the fireworks. I thought I remembered the guacamole being good here but sadly it was not. We didn't even finish it. It was pretty much a waste of $12. It tasted like the stuff you can buy from the store. I prefer my guacamole to taste fresh and not be a brownish tinge like it's been sitting out. I like chunks of avocado also, this had none. I just got the cheese quesadillas and they were fine. My kids shared with me and my husband got the pollo acp. He loved it and tried the hottest sauce they had. Even he said it was too hot and he loves hot stuff so if you do too, you should try it. We saw an ad for Senor frogs in one of those tourist booklets and they advertised free chips and salsa and highlighted some other things, so we were out and decided to stop for a few drinks, chips and salsa and maybe dinner. The bar tender got our beers and when I asked about the chips, she pointed to the menu with the $11.00 appetizer chips and salsa. I told her about the ad, she seemed to not believe me, then agreed it was in one of those books. Went there on Saturday, May 17 and there was a group of 3 of us. The drinks, food and service were very good. When the waitress brought our check on her handheld computer, she read off what we had on our check and gave us a total amount. Gave her our credit card and when she handed us the machine it was on the tip amount. We said we wanted to leave a cash tip and she said hit ok. I then handed her a cash tip and asked for a copy of the receipt. We waited about 10 minutes and she finally brought the check after asking for it an additional 2 times. When we left I looked at the receipt and noticed that we were charged an 18% tip. The waitress never mentioned anything about a tip already being added for a party of 3 or anything when I handed her an additional tip. Make sure you see your receipt before giving additional tips. Went there Memorial Day and wait was not too long. We were asked if we prefer to eat indoors or outdoors, and we chose outdoors, by the waters and the venue is nice. The server was also nice, but everything else are not! My wife ordered the 3x taco asada for about $16 and I ordered the burrito asada for $17. Expected prices to be high in this area but the overall value/quality is not great. Biggest surprise was that my burrito came with potato chips instead of nachos! How cheap is that? We are local residents and we're always looking for good restaurants in Myrtle Beach. This was our first and last visit to Senor Frogs restaurant located at Broadway at the Beach. Why? The Margarites are overpriced (mostly ice) and they don't provide chips and salsa like other local restaurants. My food arrived cold so I sent it back. What I got back was overdone and tasteless. We left most of it behind, it wasn't worth taking home. IMO Taco Bell is better. We mentioned our excellent experiences at Imperfecto Mexican restaurant and were shocked to learn Senor Frogs is also owned by Imperfecto, and the also excellent Drift restaurant. The comparison between these restaurants couldn't be more dramatic. Senor Frogs is a typical tourist restaurant with bad food and I recommend you avoid it. read more
