Update as of today 1/20 I spoke to Alex the manager of duct professor and that he supposed to get me a refund for the scams that his techs did back then but, never happened. He is upset about my reviews and won't refund me any money because I left bad review. It doesn't work this way Alex. I want more people to be aware the way that you and your techs provide services. I was a part of your scam but not let that happens for other people. Even if you tried to offer me to give you a 2nd chance for cleaning but I am not TRUSTING you at all. You should do the job correctly at the 1st time. I was lucky that I found out after I replaced my furance. Also, the three kids that you sent me to do the job let them be more professional when they get into people property by wearing the shoes cover to have some respect for the people that lives in the house. Duct professor was the most reasonable and I liked that they gave a detailed price list on if it's the city or burbs and what floor the vent is on. Requested for 410A recharge and an AC tune up for a unit that was running fine, just not very cold. Alex told me I only had 2 options, repair or buy a new unit for $6,500. To change out my capacitor and recharge freon (2-3 lbs.), he said would cost $1,589! If you think that sounds absurd, it's because it is. Upon a quick Google check, I found said capacitor for $15 on Amazon and it takes not even 5 minutes to replace; I have no idea where in the world he was getting a $1,589 repair cost, other than he was trying to push me to just replace a running unit instead. The next day, I found a local licensed guy to get my AC running cold again for less than $300. Please do yourself a favor and avoid working with this company. They'll try to upsell and upcharge you. Alex was trying to take advantage of us, assuming I wouldn't look any of this stuff up. He advised he'd send me a quote for the repair and replacement, which he never did because I think he figured out that I was going to call him out on his BS. To add insult to injury, I paid an $89 fee and he didn't even clean the condenser unit whatsoever - he was in and out in less than 15 minutes. I called and confirmed with Duct Professor after the fact that the $89 AC Tune Up fee should have included actual cleaning. Except, here's the kicker...they claim I didn't specifically request for an AC tune up so I was charged the same price for a "service call" instead. Beyond frustrating to deal with. I called duct professor because I found them on yelp. They happened to be just 5 mins from my property. Dryer vent needed clearing out. Since I like to use local contractors I figured duct professor would be great. They had availability the next day so I had them come out. Turned out that they were not able to perform the cleaning since they didn't have a long enough ladder to reach the outlet vent. They said they will not take the job since if they tried to clean from the inside out that it may make things worse. The serviceman was straightforward and honest. I'll trust duct professor for my next hvac ducts in the future due to this experience. read more

I had an amazing experience. I came out later Thursday night to my water heater leaking water. After multiple calls to a few "24" hour emergency places that had no openings, I was beyond frustrated. I decided it's probably best to replace vs fix and reached out on thumbtack to see my options. Duct Professionals responded so quickly! Not only that but they had a whole proposal laid out for me to review, a great price, and were available to come that next morning. Could have been better...They figured out my issues promptly and professionally when 2 other companies failed. BUT they quoted me $700 to fix it (by replacing my entire ductwork line) I said okay. Then after starting, informed me they could not get access to the lower part of the duct and will have to leave it. Did the $700 price quote change when the scope of work was reduced? Nope! It should have- since they couldn't do the whole line. Also I am not sure why the lower portion of duct work could not be replaced when it could have been loosened from each end & pulled out. read more

We were having issues with our dryer vent. After 55 years since the house was built the duct in the wall came apart. I called Duct Professor in the morning and by the afternoon an estimator came out and assessed the issues. It was less expensive to relocate the duct so we went forward with the quote. My husband said that we needed a whole home humidifier and since I've been getting regular nose bleeds in my home I had to agree. My dad handed me a flyer for Duct Professionals advertising a $350 humidifier including installation. Sold! When I called to say I wanted someone to come out to my house to give me a quote, someone came out immediately and promised to return the next day. I was expecting to see the same tech the next day but someone different showed up. Unfortunately he was not as experienced as the first tech was and he accidentally fried the circuit to my furnace. He apologized but he left me with no heat on the coldest weekend of the year and I had to get another contractor in on an emergency basis. That emergency call cost me $850 to put in a new circuit. After multiple angry calls to Alex (CEO), I showed up at his office on Monday demanding the $850 back from him. Alex did work with me and we eventually came to agreement that I was satisfied with. He also came back to my house the next day and properly installed the humidifier (without killing my furnace). In short, prices this organization gives are good. Alex does good work. We moved into our home a year and a half ago. We have a dog that sheds a lot, and were unsure if the ducts had been cleaned prior to us moving, or ever. I had several responses to my request for a clothes dryer vent cleaning. The Duct Professor was one of several responses that came within an hour. Alex was able to book me with Daniel and Mario on the same day. They arrived on time and were very professional. They wore their masks and wore shoe covers to keep my house clean. They used a rotating brush and cleaned out the vent from both ends. I have a long (28 ft) vent pipe and they made sure the whole vent was clean. They cleaned both the floor in our laundry room and outside the vent outside. The price was exactly as I expected. I had the vent cleaned about 6 years ago and was surprised how much lint had built up. Hired them for the $300 dollar offer. They cleaned more vents than was part of the offer without notification and charged us $60 over the offer price. No mention or notification of cleaning more or gaining consent prior to do it, they just charged us more. When I asked for clarification, we were just told that they clean each additional vent for $20 a piece. Poor communication and poor business practices. I would not recommend unless you are 100% clear and documented on what they should be doing. They did do a good job but again it was ruined by overcharging without notification. read more

my AC was not blowing out cool air. I was told I needed to have my condenser coil cleaned. I contacted Duck Professor through Yelp. Alex, the owner replied very quickly and had scheduled an appointment for next day. Alex and one of his associates arrived on time the next day. Before they entered the door, they both promptly removed theirs shoes unlike many other service people we had in the past. They checked the coil and and told me they could definitely clean the coil but it would not solve the problem and I still couldn't get the cool air, because the coil was too old and was rusted. They didn't want to waste my money to just clean the coil as I asked but not really solve my problem. Alex was very honest and told me I needed to have my coil replaced, a service his firm doesn't offer. I asked him if he could recommend any person that could do the work, he said he would after he went back. After the evaluation, they left without charging me anything. late that day, Alex followed up with me and gave me the contact a AC repair Guy. Although we didn't end up using their service, we were very impressive by their honesty and professionalism. read more

Duct professor team where recently in my house to clean our air ducts. I have to say, it's the best work we ever had. We got other companies to come here before, they finished in three hours to clean two complicated air duct systems... we never got any proof of their work, and the price was in the sky. Duct professor team before leaving, showed us pictures of our ducts before and after and some videos. We were amazed from the degree of dirt we had before (after only 2 year) and the beautiful work they did. Obviously, they stayed here around eight hours to finish the work (yes, apparently it was that bad). We are very pleased with their price and their work ethics. They came and left like no one was here (beside having clean ducts). They covered the path they walked on, and had shoe covers. Their equipment looked like state-of-the-art brand new equipment. Highly disappointed with them. Replaced and installed new water heater for us. With previous water heater we had no issues until it had developed crack. So we asked these guys to replace the water heater. After new heater was installed, we did not get the hot water in the tap.  It was lukewarm. So I called them to investigate. They said that we need to add a water pump. But we never had the pump in past and the system was working perfectly fine. When I told thenm that the system was working fine, they replied saying that "it is what you are saying". These guys insisted that there is a plumbing problem and the only solution is pump. So I had to call other plumber to fix the issue. The problem was reverse flow of water from passive thermosiphon recirculation line. These guys had no idea about it. They never bothered to follow up on if the problem was resolved. Took the money and didn't bother to ensure if the problem was resolved On top of this, when they we're bringing the water heater to my basement, they made a hole in dry wall. When I pointed it to them, they said that we will fix it but never showed up Very very poor customer service... read more
