DO NOT HIRE. If I could give zero stars, I would. I originally hired Duct Professor to fix my home AC, and they ended up charging me over $1,300 for six incredibly frustrating visits, a string of misdiagnoses, and unauthorized repairs. The first two technicians they sent spent hours troubleshooting but completely failed to find the issue. Instead of properly diagnosing the system, they installed a non-OEM control board without my knowledge or consent. This unauthorized part risked causing further damage to my electrical system through power fluctuations. When that didn't fix the AC, they guessed the AC contactor was the problem and replaced it twice to no avail. It wasn't until the sixth visit that a senior tech finally came out and identified the actual root cause: a damaged low-voltage power line leading from the AC to the house. This is a fundamental issue that should have been caught on day one. Dealing with a broken AC in the middle of summer is hard enough, but enduring a dragged-out, six-visit ordeal with a newborn baby in the house made their incompetence a complete nightmare. Ultimately, because they left my system compromised, I had to hire an entirely different, independent HVAC company to actually fix the problem. To make matters worse, I sent a detailed email to Duct Professor management outlining these failures and requesting a refund for the misdiagnoses and unauthorized parts. They completely ignored me. No follow-up, no apology, no attempt to make it right. Save your money, your time, and your sanity--look elsewhere. read more

There are so many Air Duct Cleaning Companies out there and many are very expensive. Duct HVAC Professor in Prospect Heights has a BBB Rating of A. HVAC Professor is extremely reasonable with its pricing. They were extremely prompted for our appointment time scheduled. Angel and Juan did an Awesome job cleaning all our vents completely in an hour and one half. Angel and Juan were both very courteous and respectful working around our home. They were very efficient and worked well together. We are very happy with them working for HVAC Professor. We recommend them highly! Thank you so much for your hard work Angel and Juan! read more

called Duct professor to have them clean my Duct. I have alot to say but Long story short that's what I found the 2nd day of the cleaning. Unbelievable. See pics I file a dispute with thumbtack and still waiting! Update as of today 1/20 I spoke to Alex the manager of duct professor and that he supposed to get me a refund for the scams that his techs did back then but, never happened. He is upset about my reviews and won't refund me any money because I left bad review. It doesn't work this way Alex. I want more people to be aware the way that you and your techs provide services. I was a part of your scam but not let that happens for other people. Even if you tried to offer me to give you a 2nd chance for cleaning but I am not TRUSTING you at all. You should do the job correctly at the 1st time. I was lucky that I found out after I replaced my furance. Also, the three kids that you sent me to do the job let them be more professional when they get into people property by wearing the shoes cover to have some respect for the people that lives in the house. Also, order them a good flash light instead of using their phone as flash light! what a scam? Please be present at the time of service don't be victim like me. Also, make sure to check the filter and the return duct base after few days of cleaning to see if any debris left over from cleaning I am not able to upload photos after the service was provided by duct professor crew. You can check Google review since i posted on. read more

My wife and son were suffering from constant sneezing and runny noses due to seasonal allergies so I decided to get some local businesses to help out with duct cleaning and came upon Duct Professor. All the reviews were 4 1/2 stars and above so I figured what do I have to lose? It was very easy to get pricing and schedule an appointment with Duct Professor. Mario and Daniel came in and were very efficient with everything and even showed me before and after pictures which are attached with this review. Very professional! I would highly recommend and use them again! Thank you Duct Professor! read more

We were extremely happy with Duct professor. The guys were on time and very polite and helpful. The price was reasonable. And we liked that they did before and after videos of the ducts. read more

I called duct professor because I found them on yelp. They happened to be just 5 mins from my property. Dryer vent needed clearing out. Since I like to use local contractors I figured duct professor would be great. They had availability the next day so I had them come out. Turned out that they were not able to perform the cleaning since they didn't have a long enough ladder to reach the outlet vent. They said they will not take the job since if they tried to clean from the inside out that it may make things worse. The serviceman was straightforward and honest. I'll trust duct professor for my next hvac ducts in the future due to this experience. read more

I inquired about dryer vent cleaning on yelp and got a few quotes. Duct professor was the most reasonable and I liked that they gave a detailed price list on if it's the city or burbs and what floor the vent is on. I got a lot of quotes around the same price and some even higher but I choose duct professor because they were local and responsive and had good reviews and answered my questions. read more

I had an amazing experience. I came out later Thursday night to my water heater leaking water. After multiple calls to a few "24" hour emergency places that had no openings, I was beyond frustrated. I decided it's probably best to replace vs fix and reached out on thumbtack to see my options. Duct Professionals responded so quickly! Not only that but they had a whole proposal laid out for me to review, a great price, and were available to come that next morning. I had an appt I couldn't move at 1pm that day and was concerned that it would mess with the install. They let me know they would have their workers take a lunch break and come back when I was ready. I can't express how easy, transparent, and friendly everyone I worked with was. They even got the install completed before my appt!! Talk about impressed! So happy with the service and will be recommending them to all my friends and family! read more

Two men showed up on time and rolled their equipment through my apartment without any drop cloth for their equipment or their boots. Although I relied on them to do what was required, I didn't get a lot of feedback on the condition or the cleaning of the ducts. I would use them again but with the caveat of more information and floor covering. read more

Requested for 410A recharge and an AC tune up for a unit that was running fine, just not very cold. Alex told me I only had 2 options, repair or buy a new unit for $6,500. To change out my capacitor and recharge freon (2-3 lbs.), he said would cost $1,589! If you think that sounds absurd, it's because it is. Upon a quick Google check, I found said capacitor for $15 on Amazon and it takes not even 5 minutes to replace; I have no idea where in the world he was getting a $1,589 repair cost, other than he was trying to push me to just replace a running unit instead. The next day, I found a local licensed guy to get my AC running cold again for less than $300. Please do yourself a favor and avoid working with this company. They'll try to upsell and upcharge you. Alex was trying to take advantage of us, assuming I wouldn't look any of this stuff up. He advised he'd send me a quote for the repair and replacement, which he never did because I think he figured out that I was going to call him out on his BS. To add insult to injury, I paid an $89 fee and he didn't even clean the condenser unit whatsoever - he was in and out in less than 15 minutes. I called and confirmed with Duct Professor after the fact that the $89 AC Tune Up fee should have included actual cleaning. Except, here's the kicker...they claim I didn't specifically request for an AC tune up so I was charged the same price for a "service call" instead. Beyond frustrating to deal with. Avoid at all costs! read more

Could have been better...They figured out my issues promptly and professionally when 2 other companies failed. BUT they quoted me $700 to fix it (by replacing my entire ductwork line) I said okay. Then after starting, informed me they could not get access to the lower part of the duct and will have to leave it. Did the $700 price quote change when the scope of work was reduced? Nope! It should have- since they couldn't do the whole line. Also I am not sure why the lower portion of duct work could not be replaced when it could have been loosened from each end & pulled out. read more

We were having issues with our dryer vent. After 55 years since the house was built the duct in the wall came apart. I called Duct Professor in the morning and by the afternoon an estimator came out and assessed the issues. It was less expensive to relocate the duct so we went forward with the quote. Today they showed up on time and a couple of hours later we had a new duct. The guys were very courteous and professional. The new duct work looks great. Nice clean installation. They left the area nice and clean. They even removed the broken duct that fell apart. The dryer now works GREAT. I Highly recommend them! Thank you again for your quick professional service!! read more

Good service and good price. They replied on Yelp quickly and got me scheduled for a dryer vent cleaning the next morning. Two people arrived on time, evaluated the job, and gave me a good price. We discussed a whole-home duct cleaning, but I decided against it. There was no pressure or shady sales tactics, which I appreciated. They got the job done quickly and payment was smooth. Showed me before and after conditions of my vent. Very pleased with this company. read more

These guys were awesome. Second time I hired them. This time I had them clean all the ductwork. They did a thorough job. We're clean. I have before and after photos showing a huge difference. Lots of junk came out of my system. read more

Update: They were very apologetic and it sounds like it was a misunderstanding. They squeezed us into the schedule and came back the next day to do the cleaning after we removed the vents and did an excellent job. read more

We hired Duct Professor to do a clean and check on our 3 A/C units for the summer and to also replace the filters on our 3 furnaces. Alex was very responsive and provided us with a very reasonable rate. Scheduling the appointment was very easy. The technician, Taras, who did the work was very professional and efficient. We will definitely go with them again for our ongoing HVAC needs in the future. read more

After sending out an inquiry I was contacted by the owner with a estimate. We worked through some specifics and scheduled the appointment. On the day of the appointment they showed up on time and we're professional. They explained the cleaning and showed photos and video of the before and after. This company went above and beyond and I would highly recommend their service. This is a honest and trustworthy company that is transparent and reliable. read more

I had 3 teams come in for a quote. One came in a little high and the other two were comparable. All 3 had great reviews but it seems the more reviews the higher the cost. These guys showed up on time, all I had to do was a open the door and I they worked until finished. I would highly recommend. Quality work from a professional team, good prices. read more

My husband said that we needed a whole home humidifier and since I've been getting regular nose bleeds in my home I had to agree. My dad handed me a flyer for Duct Professionals advertising a $350 humidifier including installation. Sold! When I called to say I wanted someone to come out to my house to give me a quote, someone came out immediately and promised to return the next day. I was expecting to see the same tech the next day but someone different showed up. Unfortunately he was not as experienced as the first tech was and he accidentally fried the circuit to my furnace. He apologized but he left me with no heat on the coldest weekend of the year and I had to get another contractor in on an emergency basis. That emergency call cost me $850 to put in a new circuit. After multiple angry calls to Alex (CEO), I showed up at his office on Monday demanding the $850 back from him. Alex did work with me and we eventually came to agreement that I was satisfied with. He also came back to my house the next day and properly installed the humidifier (without killing my furnace). In short, prices this organization gives are good. Alex does good work. If you want to use this org, request Alex. read more

We moved into our home a year and a half ago. We have a dog that sheds a lot, and were unsure if the ducts had been cleaned prior to us moving, or ever. At night we found ourselves having a hard time breathing, waking up stuffed, just generally feeling like we had allergies or something. Our friend suggested we get our ducts cleaned. Alex came over and did a consult to show us exactly how much dust/pet fur/debree/etc was in our ducts...it was nasty. They cleaned and sanitized the ducts, and we've been breathing so much better in our home. Duct Professor was the best money we've spent in a long time. Good quality, professional, good pricing, knowledgeable. We highly recommend these guys! read more

I had several responses to my request for a clothes dryer vent cleaning. The Duct Professor was one of several responses that came within an hour. Alex was able to book me with Daniel and Mario on the same day. They arrived on time and were very professional. They wore their masks and wore shoe covers to keep my house clean. They used a rotating brush and cleaned out the vent from both ends. I have a long (28 ft) vent pipe and they made sure the whole vent was clean. They cleaned both the floor in our laundry room and outside the vent outside. The price was exactly as I expected. I had the vent cleaned about 6 years ago and was surprised how much lint had built up. The only improvement would be for Alex to describe exactly what was going to be done in his response quote on Yelp before I made my booking decision. read more

I just purchased my first home and needed my air and dryer ducts/vents cleaned. Danny and Mario did an AMAZING job explaining the process and walking me through the steps of what they were doing. Very respectful and pleasant! The before and after pictures were awesome and showed just how well of a job they did! The pricing is also extremely great and I will definitely be using this company again! Extremely satisfied customer! read more

I highly recommend Duct Professor, Inc. I contacted them to remove a bird's nest from and clean my dryer vent. Alex (Owner) immediately responded, and I was able to schedule service within 2 days. Techs Daniel and Mario went above and beyond after they realized the extent of the problem - 3 bird nests were the least of it. These young men were professional and took the time to explain the process each step of the way. After a piece of their equipment broke, they went to Plan B to ensure the vent was clean. When their work was done, they cleaned up after themselves. Quality work by young professionals! read more

Arrived on time and super professional in cleaning our dryer vent. Highly recommend to everyone. Price is great too.

We are very pleased and satisfied with Duct Professor. They are very professional, were very responsive to our questions and their prices are very good. The guys are very polite, always on task and left everything clean. We wanted to install a humidifier, which was priced very good compared to other companies, but unfortunately our space was too small and it didn't fit. Regardless, they did a great job and we can breathe clean air again! You won't be disappointed to hire this company. read more

This is the first time I'm ever had ducts cleaned, in any of the homes I've lived in. Daniel and Mario came out, were very friendly while still respectful, explained the process and got right to work. They showed me before and after photos, recommended a timeline of when to do the clean-out again, even gave me a discount because my home is smaller than what was quoted. Even my dog - who was afraid of the noise - warmed up to them! I feel very comfortable with this company, especially Daniel and Mario, and will definitely call again when the time is right! Highly recommend!! read more

Super Professional, efficiently diagnosed and executed fixing my mini split issue at a very good price. Thank you guys and highly recommend!

Hired them for the $300 dollar offer. They cleaned more vents than was part of the offer without notification and charged us $60 over the offer price. No mention or notification of cleaning more or gaining consent prior to do it, they just charged us more. When I asked for clarification, we were just told that they clean each additional vent for $20 a piece. Poor communication and poor business practices. I would not recommend unless you are 100% clear and documented on what they should be doing. They did do a good job but again it was ruined by overcharging without notification. read more

my AC was not blowing out cool air. I was told I needed to have my condenser coil cleaned. I contacted Duck Professor through Yelp. Alex, the owner replied very quickly and had scheduled an appointment for next day. Alex and one of his associates arrived on time the next day. Before they entered the door, they both promptly removed theirs shoes unlike many other service people we had in the past. They checked the coil and and told me they could definitely clean the coil but it would not solve the problem and I still couldn't get the cool air, because the coil was too old and was rusted. They didn't want to waste my money to just clean the coil as I asked but not really solve my problem. Alex was very honest and told me I needed to have my coil replaced, a service his firm doesn't offer. I asked him if he could recommend any person that could do the work, he said he would after he went back. After the evaluation, they left without charging me anything. late that day, Alex followed up with me and gave me the contact a AC repair Guy. Although we didn't end up using their service, we were very impressive by their honesty and professionalism. read more

Great service and very helpful staff! They did good work and made the experience go smoothly, I will certainly use again in the future!

Duct professor team where recently in my house to clean our air ducts. I have to say, it's the best work we ever had. We got other companies to come here before, they finished in three hours to clean two complicated air duct systems... we never got any proof of their work, and the price was in the sky. Duct professor team before leaving, showed us pictures of our ducts before and after and some videos. We were amazed from the degree of dirt we had before (after only 2 year) and the beautiful work they did. Obviously, they stayed here around eight hours to finish the work (yes, apparently it was that bad). We are very pleased with their price and their work ethics. They came and left like no one was here (beside having clean ducts). They covered the path they walked on, and had shoe covers. Their equipment looked like state-of-the-art brand new equipment. Highly recommended. I know next time I will invite them again. read more

If your looking for a company that comes in, installs your furnace and leaves, this is not the company for you. If you are looking for someone to walk you through every aspect of your investment and the right fit for you these are the guys to call. They answered all our questions no matter how trivial it may be, very patient . Replacing a furnace is a big investment and we were looking for a company we could rely on and I think we hit the jack pot. These guys were great, they were very detail oriented and made sure every thing fit they way it was suppose to. I know we will be calling them to help maintain our investment. We also had our water heater replaced. It gives us peace of mind ton know all our heating and cooling needs are met. Call Duct Professors you won't regret it. read more

Easy communication, get the job done quickly, good price too. Highly recommended.

Highly disappointed with them. Replaced and installed new water heater for us. With previous water heater we had no issues until it had developed crack. So we asked these guys to replace the water heater. After new heater was installed, we did not get the hot water in the tap.  It was lukewarm. So I called them to investigate. They said that we need to add a water pump. But we never had the pump in past and the system was working perfectly fine. When I told thenm that the system was working fine, they replied saying that "it is what you are saying". These guys insisted that there is a plumbing problem and the only solution is pump. So I had to call other plumber to fix the issue. The problem was reverse flow of water from passive thermosiphon recirculation line. These guys had no idea about it. They never bothered to follow up on if the problem was resolved. Took the money and didn't bother to ensure if the problem was resolved On top of this, when they we're bringing the water heater to my basement, they made a hole in dry wall. When I pointed it to them, they said that we will fix it but never showed up Very very poor customer service... read more
