After my tankless water heater broke, leaving me with no hot water for a week and numerous calls to PSE&G worry-free division and calls to the manufacturer I was left frustrated and aggravated and wondering what to do next. PSE&G sent workers who never saw or dealt with a tankless water heater and the manufacturer refused to send replacement parts. I finally decided to do an internet search for certified Rheem tankless water heater installers in the area. This led me to Ductguage owned & operated by Karl Moers in Clifton. After talking to Carl and explaining my situation and the dilemma, he assured me he could do the job and be at my house first thing in the morning the next day. True to his word, at 8 30 the next morning his crew showed up and ready to work. His crew even called to check in and let me know they were on their way I was amazed. Jose and Christopher showed up and ready to work. They promptly removed the old tankless water heater unit and piping and installed the new unit and piping. Karl stop by to check in with his crew and he talked to me about what was being done and make sure his employees had enough materials and equipment. Jose and Christopher did impeccable work clean and neat! They cleaned up all the mess and put the laundry appliances back in place and in service. Jose even went above and beyond and hooked up the blow off valve which wasn't installed with the old unit and positioned it neatly to the drain outlet. To me this is a sign of somebody who cares about his work. Jose walked me through the operation of the new unit and remote control and even posted the instruction manual and paperwork to the side of the unit for quick reference. All said and done they completed the work in about 6 hours and it was like they weren't even there. I finally was back up and running with hot water again. Karl came back again to check in on the work and his employees, a sign that a business owner cares about his customers and his employees and the work being done. Ductguage is fast and efficient, does clean and neat work and the prices were very affordable. Their customer service is outstanding! I will be definitely using Ductguage again for any servicing of my tankless water heater and when I need my duct work to be cleaned. My A/C unit was leaking and my existing HVAC company charged me nearly $100 to send a tech on site to investigate and then wanted another $500 to run more tests to diagnose the problem. A family member referred me to call Karl for a 2nd opinion and I'm so glad I called! Karl came the following morning, properly identified the problem without performing expensive diagnostic tests, and took the time to thoroughly explain the issue in terms I understood. He didn't even charge me for the visit! He provided me with a proposal the following day which was significantly lower and a better value than quotes I received from other HVAC companies. Karl and his son Chris got to work the next day replacing my over 30-year old HVAC unit with incredible efficiency and superb attention to the detail. The quality of work they do is unparalleled, and I could tell the knowledge and experience they had was superior to their competitors. They do things the right way from start to finish, and take great pride in their work. Perhaps the most important attribute, however, was their honesty. Whereas the other HVAC companies were going to rip me off and include things on their proposals that I didn't need, overprice materials, and sell me on a unit that was not the right fit for my home, Karl explained why this was unnecessary even though he would have benefited financially. I couldn't believe he was genuinely doing all he could to save me money on any extra costs. Honest and Reliable!. I live in California, my Mom lives in Clifton, NJ. She lives alone in a large old house, her heat went out the day before the 3+ foot snow storm this winter. I used Yelp to locate Ductguage, and could'nt have made a better decision. I am in the construction industry so I helped my mom get started with the process and spoke to Karl to explain my moms situation. Concerned for my mother's well being and the incoming storm he was at her house within an hour and diagnosed the heat issue. He explained everything very clearly to both my mother and I. He made it a point to keep me informed throughout the whole process with what he found and his plan for repairs including costs and options. I did check Ductauges prices with trade standards and they were right on the mark. When you factor in the concern, professionalism, and hard work (he and his crew had a 11 hr install day!) I was looking for a Rheem Top Contractor to service the HVAC system at my condo in Hoboken (Upper Grand). I didn't want to trust just anybody for service (the furnace is a Rheem Classic 90), and they were the only Rheem Top Contractor in the area that would come to Hoboken. I'm glad I found them. I'm a Rheem/Ruud fanboy; I've used a Ruud Top Contractor before (Rheem's sister company), and had a very positive experience with them for a big air-conditioning job at a previous home, so I naturally went directly to Rheem's website where I found Duct Gauge. I've used them twice so far: first time for a complete HVAC system check, and second for a new Rheem electric water heater to replace the B&W that failed just two days before Thanksgiving. They ordered the specific Rheem water heater I wanted, and had it installed in 48 hours, just in time for Thanksgiving. The owner, Karl, strikes me as an upbeat, honest guy, the kind of person with whom I want to do business. I found his crew to be knowledgeable, courteous, and helpful as well. Ductgauge not only replaced our furnace and also installed central air conditioning - They added air ventilation in our kids (7 and 5 yrs old)bedroom where previously an electrical heater was installed by another company. To no avail, the room remained an icebox through out the winter and the kids had to sleep in our bedroom. Thanks to Ductgauge their room is warm this winter! Heating in their bedroom was our primary concern but we decided to add central ac also. It felt great walking in the house and having that feeling as if we just walked into a hotel after a hot summer day. Karl who is the owner of the company is very honest and trustworthy. As our expectations were explained he made suggestions that were solely to our benefit that would maximize the ultimate outcome as a result of the work done. I had a few great experiences with this company. After having an awful hack job installation done by another company, Karl came in and helped me to get the problems fixed. I brought him back in this past month to do some more work, hot water heater installation and some custom duct work. Karl's staff is courteous and professional. His prices are reasonable as well.
