Our HVAC Unit is less than 2 years old, and never cooled for long & stopped working. We always called Dudley's to checked the unit. They would come here to make repairs, same ole crap! Then the same thing over & over countless times. Worked a little time only. We are now spending $9500. to replace the unit!!! Guess what Dudley's install a smaller unit then is required for our footprint (sq. ft.). It requires a HVAC UNIT 1 Ton more! $7,000. wasted! Don't use these people! We had other repairs done also, they cheated us on! Vents cleaned, dryer lent cleaned, more. We now have a firm who uncovered this incompetent work. I also watched the 2 repairmen release the Freon to the air.(dust cloud) Which is illegal! I firmly believe if your Elderly Dudley's employee's take advantage of you! Buyer Beware! Let me start by saying, for years I recommended this company and they made so much money based on my referrals. That won't be happening again. So back in late 2014, we decided to install a completely new hvac system in our home. After less than a year, it stopped working. We called Dudley who promptly came and fixed the problem. They told us that the unit is junk and they stopped using them 2 months after starting to use them. I have to add they chose this unit-not us. We were never given an option and just trusted them as the professionals. After another few months the compressor valve (something or another) stopped working. The part was under warranty; but we still had to pay for coolant and labor charge for it to be fixed. Which we did. To the tune of over $700. We had the unit serviced every year to keep the 10 year warranty in effect. Well, guess what. I called them out to service and they told me that the compressor valve has once again gone bad. They told us that "coolant prices had skyrocketed" and now it would cost us a total of $2000 for them to fix it. Again, the part being under warranty so that price encompassed $130 a pound for coolant. We need 10 pounds. Plus, $250 for labor and $400 and something for them to get the part. Like a travel charge. Guess it can't be mailed. Or I cannot get it myself. I don't know. Anyway, We have a friend in hvac who works about 2 hours from us who said coolant prices have not skyrocketed. In fact, he gets it for around $200 for 25 pounds of it. So, we asked the company if they would help bear some of the financial responsibility since they chose the unit that should have lasted us 15 years minimum. And maybe cut down some of the labor costs. Or charge more reasonably for coolant, or less of a delivery charge. They said no. They would not help even one dime as a good faith customer service. So we called another company and had a whole new system put in. We were charged a more reasonable amount ($60 per pound for coolant) for coolant. We realize a company is in business to make money, but since Dudley went out of their way to take advantage of us and not help in any way to rectify a situation that they caused, I will no longer recommend them. And, in fact, have told the 4 families that have actively used them based on recommendation about our experience and they have committed to not using them ever again. So I hope it was worth it to them. Also, on one last note, when we put in the unit back in 2014 we upgraded to a 3 ton unit. Or so we thought. We paid extra for the bigger unit, but Dudley put in a 2.5 ton air handler inside so it was unable to accommodate the 3 ton unit outside. They were not compatible so the bigger unit was completely ineffective, but as layman we had no idea until the new company informed us. So that is my sad story and I hope it serves as a warning to those thinking of calling Dudley. There are FAR better companies out there. Stay clear of this one. read more

This was the firm selected by my home warranty company to come look at my non-working heat pump. The tech showed up exactly on time, and diagnosed the issue within minutes. He could have easily sold me on thousands of dollars in repair or replacement (I can barely spell HVAC), but didn't - the issue was just a setting in my thermostat which he corrected. He then checked to make sure everything was working as it should be, and was on his way about 30 minutes after he arrived. Great small company, outstanding service. read more

Absolutely do not recommend. Unprofessional, uncaring. You will spend well over $1000 and still sit in the heat with all the bugs they let into your home because they don't have have the common courtesy to close your front door. They have been to my house 3 times. The major service call took them 8 hours and they still didn't get it right. One tech did remember his Trump hat though. The other left his manners at home and wanted to take a pee as soon as he got here. At least do some work before you add to my sewer cost. They did a good job, when they finally got here. I understand it's a busy season so when I was told that they would be coming on a certain date and didn't show up, I was obviously upset. Sitting in the hot soup of my own sweat while sitting in my home was unpleasant. Honestly though that's not really why I took a couple stars off. The SOLE reason why it's 3 instead of 5 is the woman who answers the phone. I called originally and she's the one who told me they would arrive on the 7th. When I call on the 7th she claimed to not remember and said that she had us down for the 8th. When I reasonably became a bit upset at this news she repeatedly would ask me and my fiancé, "well I can cancel if you want". She even cut me off multiple times, "I'm happy to cancel, do you want to cancel". Eventually I got to speak with the owner who smoothed things over quite nicely and provided the model numbers and serial numbers that the woman previously would not. The installers came the next day on time, and they were great. Clearly experienced and even helped to get rid of a few snakes living under the old unit. They were awesome and were done in about 4 hours which is what I expected. They even came back after finishing to provide me with a check to cover the amount for the thermostat they couldn't acquire, (which the owner told me he had the day before). The initial tech that inspected my old unit was spot on, and the install techs were a pleasure. The woman answering the phone is the sole reason I almost cancelled. This would be a 5 star review had they not had that horrible woman answer the phone. I would go with Dudley's if your looking for experienced installation techs. But somehow you're going to have to endure the terrible experience on the phone. read more

However twice these guys have been able to save my day and in both instance, my weekend. No special rates for weekends! How cool is that.. and to top it off, I really felt like they were looking out for my best interest and gave me reasonable options. My furnace died in the middle of the night. My home warranty contracts through Dudleys. Dudley's contacted me and set up to come between 8-12. They did not show. I called, she said he came, rang the doorbell and no one was home and they are booked up through the next week. They didn't want me to have to wait so they turned it back over to the warranty company. I said "I don't have a doorbell." She said "Well he knocked." None of my security alarms alerted me to anyone coming onto my property, up the driveway or onto my porch to my door. Security was checked that day and was in proper working order. My home is small, I was sitting in my living room, no TV, no radio. Enjoying the peace and quiet (my son had a rare nap) waiting for Dudleys. My warranty company said Dudleys called and told them that they came, no one was home and they would not do business with me. Now I have no way of having my furnace fixed as there is no one else who contracts with the home warranty. Which means I have to pay upfront and be reimbursed. Which I can't do. Being out of work and having a special needs child, who is now requiring my every moment, I have no way of paying, which is exactly why I have a warranty. Dudleys actually gets a Negative 's in my opinion. Under no circumstances would I ever trust Dudleys. That is simply a cruel inhuman thing to do to someone. They called on Tuesday said someone cancelled I said come on right now and 5 I mean 5 minutes later they were in my driveway- ready to fix... which might I add THEY DID!!!! Dudley's are DUDS! Our heat pumps circuit board was found fried last month. It is an older Goodman so we called to have them replace the part and provide service if needed to restore it to good working condition. The company came and spent very little time replacing it and said that they were not sure which wires to reconnect to get it back to the same auto/? off/? on running fan condition. They were not familiar with this brand or the year of heat pump. I expected them to restore service back to its original working order as promised I watched them very worriedly whisper between themselves, the 2 men- the only thing they did was take a paint brush against the coil and close up the unit. He didn't even bother to leave enough space for the filter to fit back in. They left saying that they couldn't restore it, they would have to leave and -"hot wire" it for the fan to run all the time which has caused the humidity level to skyrocket along with a whole host of problems. When I see work like this from a local company it makes me want to call the BBB and go outside of local businesses. How irresponsible can a business be, too lazy to fix it properly and charge a premium price? I called back hoping to get them to fix the cabinets filter space so I can get the filter back in and spoke to the owner's wife and never have received a callback. They have been two my house twice to attempt to complete a simple fix in my AC. Both times they failed to fix it. The second time he said he had to go to his truck to make a phone call then just left without finishing the fix. Our heat pump went out on one of the coldest days of the year. Made appointment for Dudley's to troubleshoot and repair or replace for the next day. My wife took off of work to be there for repairman. No one showed. Tried to call no one answered. They didn't even have the courtesy to let us know that they would not show up so we could call some one that would actually show up. read more

It makes me really sad to have to leave a local business owner a one star review. I will just lay out all of the facts and you can decide for yourself if you want to take a chance by using this company. We have a home warranty, so this is the company our home warranty company contracted with to send out for service. Initially our interaction with them and the service they provided would have been 4-5 stars. We had a freon leak. They fixed it. Our home warranty covered the service, but we were had to pay the $800 worth of freon out of pocket. That's part of life and being a homeowner, so we paid it. After 67 days of them "fixing" the leak issue and filling the freon, our air conditioner started blowing hot air. We called our home warranty company again, this time they sent out a different company who stated that the freon was leaking in the exact same spot the Dudley claimed to have fixed. Every last ounce of freon was gone. Which means that IT WAS NEVER FIXED and over the course of the next 67 days, $800 worth of freon was evaporating into the air. My husband called Dudley a total of 4 times before someone called us back. And they didn't even follow simple elementary directions to call my husband at work. When we got home, they left a message on our home phone. After two more attempts, my husband was finally able to get in touch with them. They only stand by their their repairs for 60 days he was told. There was nothing more they were responsible for. I would call several other companies before even thinking about contacting this one. Even if their prices seem lower initially, you will be paying much more in the long run when you have to have another company come out and fix their mess. read more

I'm giving this one star solely because the guys at Dudley's are nice as well as the owner. That being said, it's the 4th of July weekend and I am sitting in a one story rancher that is no bigger than 1500 sq ft, with ALL doors closed (bedrooms, bathrooms) and it is 76 degrees.... it's only 73 outside! Obviously, we will be sitting in this heat until Monday at the earliest because of the holiday weekend. This company has replaced the entire unit outside and inside. We simply want the ac to be at 68 degrees inside. It hardly ever reaches 68, typically stays at about 72. They have came out 3 times at this point saying they "corrected" the issue. Clearly it's still not right!!!! Do not spend your money here unless you enjoy sitting in the heat multiple days out of the year after spending a few grand on a completely new system! read more

Had a service call for AC service on Jun 20, 2015. Dudley's filled the freon and told me my repairs were guaranteed for a month. Today, July 18, 2015, my coil starts to ice again and I call him back to let them know initial repairs were insufficient and a month had not elapsed yet. Representative's response, "Well, I guess you've got a leak there." Not, "We were there less than a month ago? Can you present a receipt if our repairman were to arrive so we can reimburse the previous repair and see about resolving the current issue?" read more

I have a pioneer mini split that I bought new from Amazon and installed a few months ago. A recent power surge from a thunder storm made my mini split stop working and just displayed the code E1. A very common issue with surges from storms according to the web and YouTube. I had Dudley's come out and take a look. The repairman said he saw the problem (a small fried piece of circuitry) and would call me back with info and next steps. After a week had passed, I didn't receive a call. Yet I called and left a message. Still nothing. Then after a few more days of no response, I called again and they said they couldn't do the job. They couldn't find the part/weren't aware of how to fix this mini split. All in all, it was a long drown out, WARM, waste of time. read more

Every review listed here is correct about the service. If you call them they won't fully check the unit and will get it working for a few days. When I called them to inform them it wasn't working they told me I was wrong without checking my unit. I'm pretty sure if it's over 80 degrees at night there is a problem. If I could give zero stars I would. I have a home warranty so this is one of their contractors they use. I was having problems with my AC on the main floor. While the technician was there my warranty company had them also look at my other unit just to make sure everything was working good. Well the day he checked our system he stated everything was fine and Freon was perfect. Next day noticed the AC for my upstairs wasn't blowing cold. So called Dudley's back and the same tech came out. He was puzzled " said everything was perfect the day before". So he hooked up nitrogen to the outside to see if he could find any leaks. Nothing. So he told me he would have to fill the system with dye and I would be out of an AC for two day. Fine do what you have to do to fix it. Two days later a different technician came out and looked at the until. Then he is going to tell me "someone has been tampering with your AC unit". I said "the only person who was in it was your other tech". He said well someone else has been tampering with your system. And them told me that they would have to call my warranty company and let them know they cannot figure out what was wrong with it. New company came out and basically said the first tech basically forces too much nitrogen into my unit and now I have to replace EVERYTHING. Called and asked for the owner and has yet to call me back. I will be contacting the BBB and reporting them. Don't ever use this company!!! I even told the Warranty company to NEVER send Dudley's again. read more

What they did is do the absolutely minimum of work so it will last you about a week or two then you have to call them back for more services. Completely unprofessional. The people were suppose to come out and look at our AC unit to see why it wasn't working. I saw the van sitting out in front of my house but never once received a knock at the door. I also have dogs who alarm me if anyone is present who never once barked. No call or message was left stating they didn't fix the unit. When called about it, I only received annoyance on the other end as I tried to find out what happened. They stated my service ticket was already closed out and the note said the service person knocked two times and left a voicemail stating they were here to fix the unit. No customer service was provided and I was told that I was pretty much back to square one. I could not be more unhappy with my experience with them as it is in August with temperatures reaching the 90s and this is the treatment I receive for being a paying customer. read more

I called this morning (Saturday) because our condenser fan wasn't turning and, as a result, we had no air conditioning. I spoke to one of the owners (Paul, I believe) who was very polite. He arrived in a little over an hour. He determined within about 5 minutes that the capacitor had gone bad. He had it replaced in about 10 minutes and we had our AC back. Their prices are extremely reasonable, especially for a weekend service call. After reading some other reviews, I would like to clarify a few things. I am a service technician in a different industry. There are occasions when repairs fail. I have had replacement parts bad right out of the box. Leaks happen, especially when you're talking copper tubing and high pressure. If a copper tubing repair lasted for 2 months, it was repaired properly. It's unfortunate that many people only leave poor reviews. I'm sure that they have hundreds, if not thousands, of positive customer interactions. I am guilty of it at times, but almost always try to speak with a manager at a restaurant when the service has been excellent, not just when there has been an issue. Please keep that in mind. I would not hesitate to refer friends and family to Dudleys. They were prompt, courteous and knew what they were doing. read more
