If you want extra sauce, they will gladly give it to you. What I really like is when you ask for crispy wings, they are actually crispy. I love that Duff's is in Sarasota now! I used to go to Duff's every time I had to go to Buffalo on business and have always enjoyed their wings. Last night was my third time there in three weeks. The wings and the Service are great, the place is always clean and the ambience is very upbeat. Unfortunately, I am only giving three stars because I believe their kitchen is not functioning very well. Last night was the third time in three visits that I had to wait an unusually long time for my wings. I was at a large table last night and people ordered both wings and other items on the menu and my plate was actually the last one to be delivered after everybody had started to eat their dinner. Tuesday nights are a wing special night, 10 wings for $10 which was a great surprise as I went there last night, not expecting it. I do not understand if you're gonna run a wing special why it would still take 25 minutes for 10 wings. I normally get them well done and sometimes expect to wait 15 to 20 minutes, but last night, based on my previous experience on the time it takes wings to come out of the kitchen, I did not ask them to be well done... And it took longer! This is the first chicken wing specialty restaurant that cannot seem to cook wings in a realistic amount of time. I'm surprised that they are not par cooked so they take less time when they get an order. Came back for my sons birthday party. We had 19 people. We originally had a reservation for 17 but another couple joined us. We asked to add another table and there were others available but they refused. So two people had to sit in a booth near by. REALLY!!! All the wings were great. The Beef on Weck had a lot of chewy meat and I wouldn't recommend. The service was not good. Tables were not cleared,buckets for eaten wings were not emptied and no one asked how our food was. They did a great job decorating inside and they have an extensive lines of draft beer served in cold glasses. Being from Buffalo we enjoyed all the Buffalo memorabilia. read more

The wings and burgers are absolutely the best in town, especially the Barbecue Grilled!! The entire staff has been incredible on every single visit so far. If I had any issues with Duffs is, they advertise 2 Bars, and the back bar with great TVs and high tops has been closed EVERY TIME!!! We ordered the lunch beef on weck and mild wings - the wings were done to perfection. They asked what sort of dressing we wanted - bleu cheese, of course (that's not a question back home)! The BoW was good, but we didn't feel the roll was a 100% WNY kimmelweck - the roll did not have the texture of WNY rolls, and the salt was white, not translucent. They also didn't automatically offer horseradish. It was a good sandwich, but not a "10". Strange time to open, but ok...We ran some errands then came back at 3:00. Ordered some wings, all drums, and a beef on weck, salad, and some chicken tenders. The first plate they brought was either someone else's or they just messed up. They took it away then brought my wings and fries. The fries were cold. The carrots were oxidized. Use some cold water and they won't turn white. Later my wife's salad arrived. Not a fan of Frisée lettuce but that's more on us. Then my daughter's chicken tenders arrived. Literally just 3 chicken breasts breaded. They belonged more on a sandwich than as a tender. These were huge. Then the beef on weck arrived. I'm not exaggerating. The food all came out randomly over 5 - 10 minutes. I'm more a fan of...we all are eating together. Bring the food together. I guess I had really built this place up in my mind, but the wings were just ok. Not very big and over cooked. I've had better at Hooters. I REALLY wanted these to be something special, but it's just another average wing place. I would say I'd be back just to drink beer, but at 8.50 for a Yuengling I'll likely pass. We've been twice now, and both visits have been excellent! On our second trip, I could tell they've already dialed things in even more -- especially the speed in the kitchen. That kind of improvement this early says a lot. The wings were extra crispy just like we requested, which I really appreciate. That's a huge pet peeve of mine when restaurants ignore that request -- but not here. They nailed it. We're spicy people, so we went with Extra Hot and Death. The Death definitely brings a serious kick, and we loved it. I also respect that they're taking the time to get everything right before fully rolling into lunch and to-go service instead of rushing it. That attention to detail shows. Disappointed. The wings were either overcooked or just really dry. The flavor on the Char-BBQ was great but the wings were hard to eat, too dry and tough. The boneless wings were also overcooked and dry. The flavor was mild-medium but not saucy, it must have been a dry rub. The room we were in had at least 3 TVs all with their volumes up high. Very odd, it forced people to try and talk over the tv noise. Most restaurants have the games on but but the volume. We are frequent "flyers" at Duff's on Sheridan in Buffalo, we know what they should be. The medium were mild, not much different than the mild. Could have been crispier too. They were good, just not Duff's good. Need some improvement, but i think in another month they'll get it down. We ordered the large string fries, yikes should have stayed with the small. So went to Duffs looking to get some wings tonight. Sat at a booth and sat and sat and sat. Never a waitress. So flagged a young man down came over hesitantly and supposedly took our order while our waitress was busy handling the table of 20 that came in after us. We were a party of two. So he walks off and comes back 10 mins later to retake our order supposedly our waitress was to come over and take it...she never acknowledged us at all and never took an order. Wings are on the small side, flavorful, and $2.00 each. Draft beer at $10 ... also pricy. Service was basic. Not wowed today. Might try it again, but might not. My wife & I gave this place a 2nd Chance. Were wondering if they changed their hours &, sure enough, they were open @ 1:30 when we got there. Place wasn't busy & we sat @ the bar. We arrived and still waited--with small children in tow and one very elderly senior. Our "table" turned out to be four high-top tables pushed together in the middle of the room, surrounded by backless bar stools. Not exactly what one envisions for a family dinner that includes kids and someone who looks like they've earned the right to sit comfortably decades ago. Ordering drinks took a while. Ordering food took longer. The parents of a 2-year-old wisely ordered chicken fingers immediately with drinks, hoping to avoid exactly what happened next: over an hour wait for a toddler's meal. By the time it arrived, the child was done waiting--and frankly, so were we. Food came out in scattered waves, with a solid 30-minute gap between dishes. I finally received my sandwich (tasteless, paired with limp fries) just as others were finishing. Everyone was let down, and the food tasted far below expectations. I can only hope our grandpa keeps pushing-because if that had been his last meal, I'd never forgive myself. Meanwhile, three different waiters tried to deliver four completely wrong dishes we never ordered. Somehow, a hot dog for an 8-year-old took an impressive 1.5 hours. It felt more chaotic than actually busy, with servers rushing around in confusion. The entire experience stretched to 2.5 hours. Getting additional drinks required hunting down servers or going to the bar ourselves--which is always a nice touch when you're managing a large table. To top it off, gratuity was automatically included (generously, of course), and when I asked for clarification, the server played confused while the payment system happily suggested tipping even more. No itemized receipt--just a number on the screen. At that point we had no time or energy to request and go through it--the kids were done, the experience was done, and frankly, so was everyone's appetite. They proudly advertise franchise opportunities on their menu. Based on this experience, I'd suggest focusing on learning how to run one functional location first. Tonight was my first experience at Duffs Sarasota. First, my Daughter ordered the buffalo Quesadilla. Our order arrived with the quesadilla burnt on both sides. I asked another Server to exchange it as it was not acceptable. I was not given silverware to eat my salad, so asked the Hostess for a fork. The second quesadilla came out without the fries that were sent back with the order. I asked another Server about the fries and She said they were coming out, which never happened. I asked our Server to take off the charge for the fries, which he did with no apology. It was not busy but very poor Customer Service. I paid with cash and did leave a tip.
