Unfortunately, my review is lengthy, but I believe the details are important. My family has been patients at Duffy Dental for over five years. During that time, we have had a very positive experience. Dr. Duffy is excellent, and much of the office staff has always been friendly, professional, and welcoming. However, over the past several months, we have experienced repeated and frustrating issues with billing and insurance verification. Our insurance clearly covers dental sealants for children up to age 14. My children are 12 years old, yet on three separate occasions we were told at the time of the appointment that we would need to pay approximately $160 out of pocket for a service that should have been fully covered. Each time, we declined treatment and rescheduled after being reassured that the issue would be corrected. Unfortunately, no note was added to our account, and the same billing problem occurred at every appointment. This resulted in multiple unnecessary trips, missed school for my children, and time away from work for my husband or myself. After the third occurrence, my husband understandably expressed his frustration. When I later contacted the office manager, Theresa, to discuss the matter, she repeatedly interrupted me and would not allow me to explain the situation. More concerning, she accused my husband of yelling at a new employee and "throwing things around the office." This accusation is completely false. My husband was frustrated, as any customer would be after repeated scheduling errors and wasted time, but he did not behave in the manner described. Making such serious and unfounded accusations is unacceptable. I do sympathize with any new employee who may have felt overwhelmed, but the responsibility lies with management to properly verify insurance coverage and document account notes to prevent the same issue from happening repeatedly. It is extremely disappointing because we genuinely liked Dr. Duffy and several members of the staff. The office is clean, well-maintained, and Dr. Duffy provides excellent care. However, due to the repeated billing issues, poor communication, and false accusations made against my husband, we will be taking our business elsewhere. After more than five years as loyal patients, this is not how we expected to be treated. I cannot recommend Duffy Dental based on our recent experience. My advice to prospective patients is to verify your insurance benefits independently before any appointment and be prepared to question charges that should be covered. read more

I was VERY pleased about this place. We recently moved to Justin and I drive by this office everyday. When my daughter had an issue with her teeth we took her in and they took care of her. I was very surprised that the person that examined and spoke with us about treatment was Debra Duffy. We spoke with the doctor whose name is on the sign! I guess that is a sign of a small town. We were able to get my daughter taken care of all the ladies in the office were super sweet and loved talking to my daughter making her feel comfortable. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone that is looking for a pediatric dentist! I would drive a good distance to come here! read more

Dr. Duffy was very kind and also very knowledgeable. It was quick for her to suggest removing tonsils and has a referral for a doctor who will do just that even though you don't get ear infections. Whoever checked my insurance did not do a good job. I was told I would pay a certain amount which I did at the appointment. I get a bill later and come to find out that they, in their own words, "assumed" it would be covered. I hope that hasn't happened to anyone else. I was excited to think I found a place for my kids but I don't want to be surprised that I owe more after the appointment is done and therefore obligated to pay. read more

I took my 9 week old to get her tongue tie removed and also had to bring my 2.5 year old. Being in the early stages of a Mom of two I am not the most confident yet. I wish every place I went to was as personable, accommodating, understanding, and helpful as Dr. Duffy and her staff. We had to go to the Flower mound office due to rain damage but I met the Justin staff also and I am beyond impressed. The receptionist played with my toddler while I tried filling out paperwork with a fussy baby. The Dental assistant put on shows and brought stuffed animals to my daughter while we waited for Dr. Duffy. Dr. Duffy was an all out rockstar-interacting with both kids the whole time and making me feel 100% more comfortable. Everyone EVEN THE Doctor herself helped me out with opening doors, holding the baby carrier, diaper bags, my jacket, my purse. I mean who does that?! If you want a professional place that doesn't make you feel like you're drowning or overwhelmed this is it. They truly felt like family and we will be back! read more

After our last appointment, I can't help but send an email expressing my frustration and disappointment. My son (age 6) was left lying in the chair for over 50 minutes this morning on nitrous. He started complaining about not feeling well and being really uncomfortable so I left the room to go look for one of the dental assistants. When I finally got her attention and told her he'd been waiting on the gas forever, she came to the room and immediately started working on him. When I asked what was taking so long, she let me know "we have other patients." While I am fully aware that medical professionals overbook their schedules causing wait time for patients, it wasn't the "waiting" part that frustrated me. It was the fact that he was inhaling the nitrous for that long before even starting the fillings/crown. There is absolutely no reason a child that age should be left on nitrous for that length of time. She even told me "it takes 25 to 30 minutes for it to kick in" and that is fine ... except if that's the case, then he was already laying there for 25-30 minutes too long. There was no apology and zero eye contact for the rest of the time. A dear friend of mine is a pediatric dentist in another part of Texas and shares a very successful practice with her husband and she was in disbelief when I told her what happened today. Her and her husband both insisted how irresponsible it was to leave a child unattended on nitrous gas for that length of time. At our last appointment, a dental assistant in training tried to numb the wrong quadrant of his mouth because his chart had not been updated to reflect the change in order of his procedures. My frustration and issue with both of these situations is this: I was asked not once or twice but THREE times not to come back with my child and stay in the waiting area. What would have happened if I hadn't been there to advocate for my six year old who has never had any kind of dental work done before? Would the incorrect quadrant have been numbed if I hadn't stopped her? How long before the error was noticed? Today, how long was he supposed to lay uncomfortably alone in the room without me there to advocate for him? It is unfathomable to me that any dental office would request a parent sit in the waiting room, especially with a young child. The first time I was asked to wait out front I said no and she continued to tell me why I should. The second visit she urged me to wait out front again ("can we get you to stay in the waiting room this time, mom") and again, I said no. I was met with noticeable annoyance on both occasions. After that, I let Bridgette know that she could inform the girl bringing us back that she doesn't need to ask anymore. There is no viable situation in which I would let my 6-year-old child be taken into the "care" of anyone we don't know. The only saving grace for all four appointments was Bridgette, who was lovely to work with, kind and helpful. I realize that losing one family doesn't affect your business (I have three other children I intended to bring to Duffy Dental Ranch as well) but the practice came highly recommended so I expected a much better level of service and CARE. I take my children's health and care very seriously and to have that disregarded on multiple occasions is simply unacceptable. I sent this email to them the day of our appointment and it's been a week and I have yet to get a response. My advise is to never leave your children unattended in any medical office. As the parent, you are truly the only one who can advocate for them. read more
