(Crown work) according to their "dental treatment plan" they said I owed an additional amount. I found it odd because I had paid everything already out of pocket. Fast forward, recently my new dentist was out on maternity leave. I was at a time crunch. Therefore, i returned to Denton Smiles and saw Dr. Tran again. They supplied me with a complete and detailed "treatment plan" including x-rays. Again it was several thousand dollars. I'm a senior citizen living on a small fixed retirement pension, but am serious and responsible about paying my debts even if I use credit cards. Again this time I paid punctually 2 large payments over a few thousand. Again, after a month of having paid my bill (treatment plan") and dental work was completed, mysteriously i was billed an additional $200. dollars. Now every week i receive a harassing text of owing $200. I have called, I politely emailed and texted. But no answer or response. I requested a meeting with their accounts manager to show them a copy of their treatment plan and the payments I made that paid it in full. No response not even out of courtesy! Total I paid this practice $10,000 ! All to Denton Smiles. Their behavior can put responsible paying patients with good credit into a debt collection agency that ruins their credit! CAUTION: This facility does not keep their word nor respects their own treatment plans and bills they provide to patients. Even when you pay in full out of pocket and clarify insurance doesn't cover it (which they already know) they'll look for a reason to bill you a month or two AFTER you've already paid your bill in full. These are deceptive practices squeezing additional money out of responsible patients and worse ruining one's good credit. Months later, I am still waiting for the appointment to settle the matter.

Unfortunately, my review is lengthy, but I believe the details are important…read more My family has been patients at Duffy Dental for over five years. During that time, we have had a very positive experience. Dr. Duffy is excellent, and much of the office staff has always been friendly, professional, and welcoming. However, over the past several months, we have experienced repeated and frustrating issues with billing and insurance verification. Our insurance clearly covers dental sealants for children up to age 14. My children are 12 years old, yet on three separate occasions we were told at the time of the appointment that we would need to pay approximately $160 out of pocket for a service that should have been fully covered. Each time, we declined treatment and rescheduled after being reassured that the issue would be corrected. Unfortunately, no note was added to our account, and the same billing problem occurred at every appointment. This resulted in multiple unnecessary trips, missed school for my children, and time away from work for my husband or myself. After the third occurrence, my husband understandably expressed his frustration. When I later contacted the office manager, Theresa, to discuss the matter, she repeatedly interrupted me and would not allow me to explain the situation. More concerning, she accused my husband of yelling at a new employee and "throwing things around the office." This accusation is completely false. My husband was frustrated, as any customer would be after repeated scheduling errors and wasted time, but he did not behave in the manner described. Making such serious and unfounded accusations is unacceptable. I do sympathize with any new employee who may have felt overwhelmed, but the responsibility lies with management to properly verify insurance coverage and document account notes to prevent the same issue from happening repeatedly. It is extremely disappointing because we genuinely liked Dr. Duffy and several members of the staff. The office is clean, well-maintained, and Dr. Duffy provides excellent care. However, due to the repeated billing issues, poor communication, and false accusations made against my husband, we will be taking our business elsewhere. After more than five years as loyal patients, this is not how we expected to be treated. I cannot recommend Duffy Dental based on our recent experience. My advice to prospective patients is to verify your insurance benefits independently before any appointment and be prepared to question charges that should be covered.

I am honestly shocked by my experience…read more The woman working the front desk was incredibly unprofessional and, in my opinion, is a liability to this practice. My insurance was billed incorrectly using my previous carrier, and instead of helping resolve the issue, she repeatedly insisted it was my fault because the employee who originally took my insurance information "didn't update the system correctly." She continued to tell me that no insurance card had been scanned into my file, despite the fact that I explained multiple times that MetLife doesn't issue insurance cards. Rather than listening or trying to help, she became increasingly hostile. When I politely asked if I could speak with someone else, she refused and instead told me she "wasn't comfortable" continuing the conversation and that I could call back "when I was calm." The irony is that I wasn't the one who had become confrontational. Unfortunately, this was just the latest in a long list of issues. Over time I've dealt with repeated problems involving insurance, billing, and appointment scheduling. At some point, enough is enough. Dr. Hooper, my experiences with you have always been positive, but your front desk staff is representing your practice poorly. They are the first impression patients have, and interactions like this are damaging your reputation and costing you business. I hope this feedback is taken seriously because the level of customer service I experienced today was completely unacceptable.

I have been trying to resolve this directly with the office and request a refund for the amount I was incorrectly charged, but my calls and messages have gone unanswered. Because I was unable to get a response or resolution, I had to file a complaint with my credit card company to dispute the charge. I expected better communication and customer service from a healthcare provider. I hope the office improves its communication and works to address billing concerns more transparently with patients. Sadly, this is not the first time it happened. They like to overcharge you and then keep the extra money as credit on your account (but are not transparent about this either).

The first time I went I needed a night guard from grinding. My hygienist identified the problem before I did. She massaged my jaw and head, and asked me how I was sleeping at night. I left their office feeling about 10 pounds lighter from the short massage, and the cleaning was gentle and pleasant as usual. I honestly enjoy going to the dentist. I look forward to my time to sit back and relax in the chair for a while.
