Their excuse was machines breaking down and not being able to find anyone to snow blow. However, they didn't have the decency to call us. We prepaid for the service and also had a severe medical situation that needed nurses and hospice staff to be able to enter our property. They knew that when we hired them. At the end of the year, I sent in more money to cover if it snowed in March/April. The monies left over would be held for this year (2018). I have called them many, many times over the summer, leaving messages and getting no response. Finally, today contact was made. They couldn't wait to tell me they had received no calls from me (basically that I was a liar) and thought it best to end their service. I agreed. I asked for my refund, she said to read my contract, and hung up on me. Apparently, I have lost my $200+ money that was to roll over to this year. I always paid ahead and if any extra work was done, I paid them cash before they left. We often had to go out after them as well because they would not go down to the tar as requested and created a sheet of ice which was very treacherous for all of us who had to maneuver on it. Very disappointed in their lack of service and would not recommend.

We specifically went with Burke's because of the guarantee that the dad, the founder of the company, assured us of when he came out to quote. Apparently the son does not uphold the guarantee and quality that the company earned its reputation on. I still have my paperwork with the guarantee. I want my roof to not leak. I'd rather give my lawyer $1600.00 to get them to stand by their work than to pay some dude named Toby. Their guarantee is garbage. Go with someone else. Edit: 09/25/23 I just received a phone call from Sheryl Burke stating that our problem was from a lack of "maintenance" not their work, therefore they could come out and quote us to do what is needed to fix the leak but that they are more expensive than the quote I got recently. I informed her that this is not an issue of maintenance when they, the roofing professionals, never informed us that we needed additional hardware for a leak-free roof. We assumed that they, the professionals, would know what our roof needed and would include all of this at the time of quote and install. She tried to insinuate that we haggled over price, going with a cheaper option, (we didn't) and she stated that Zach didn't do the work, his dad Mark did. Wrong again, Sheryl. Mark quoted it in June and Zach did it in October. The bottom line: don't trust them to do what is needed, don't trust them to inform you of what is needed, and certainly don't trust them to stand by their assurance of a leak-free roof.
