We went to Duggal to have a picture printed on canvas. Our original photo was a bit blurry with imperfect lighting, but of great sentimental value. Zee worked with us to adjust the image and try test prints in different sizes to see firsthand how the image would be affected. We wanted it to be as large as possible, but not so large that the quality (such as it was) suffered. She was very thorough and honest throughout the process, letting us know what would yield the highest quality results with what we had to work with. She spent a lot of time with us in face to face meetings and numerous emails detailing dozens of different editing, sizing and framing options. Zee took what could easily have been a useless amateur photo and turned it into something we really enjoy. We are thrilled with the final product! read more

Long story short: Duggal is a bad printing service. Just a few weeks ago, for instance, they printed a book that I ordered in a completely wrong layout from the one I suggested. The colors and contrast were also completely messed up. Much text even became illegible due to this. Some of the pages were filled with fingerprints, dust and noticeable scratches. Just the week before this print, they also messed up a ridiculously easy test print job, failing to follow the directions I had given them and that they had agreed to follow. These are the only two print jobs I have requested from them. Very simple print jobs. And they screwed up, severely, on both. Don't get me started on the absolutely insane pricing. Let this be a warning. Individuals like myself who have been ripped off will make their voices heard, and eventually the truth will be known. Do not use Duggal. read more

I have been using Duggal since the 80's because they have always offered me the finest quality photographic services available. Mr. Duggal continues to invest in the latest state-of-the-art technologies, regardless of cost. The services they offer are for those who truly care about quality above all else. Occasionally you hear people complain about their prices but I have found that I get what I pay for, and they are very fair. My work continues to sell in galleries nationally and I am constantly asked "Where did you get this done?" Their customer service people are outstanding. Ask for Hope Saviddes or Hardy. Duggal has been an excellent film resource for our art gallery for many years. We tend to prefer 35mm print film and slides and although the digital format is the leader in the photography world these days we still use 35mm film. Duggal has been an exceptional provider for our unique photography needs and our rep, Hardy, has been very resourceful and extremely helpful. We have provided custom art for such places as New York's Copacabana, the Carlyle Hotel, Best Western Hotel and many restaurants and private residences. We need the clarity of color that only slide film can provide especially when we are commissioned to do portraits as this type of film captures the nuances of a subjects complexion. As a recreational photographer, shooting photos in NY has been a lifelong goal of mine since high school. This place does fantastic printing......IF you can make it through the terrible customer service at the front desk. I delt with the older aftrican-american guy there on two seperate occasions. He treats you like you are a total nuisance, and an idiot. I alway do archival film printing here. I hesitate to go elsewhere because the prints I get are always good, and they guys that do the printing are so nice and talented and helpful. The asshole at the front desk might want to take a lesson on customer service from them. I called to complain and found out he IS the manager. I am totally baffeled. I can't imagine how any owner would put someone with such a shitty attitude in a manager position at the front desk where you CONSTANTLY have to deal with customers wow. To say I'm not a fan is an understatement. I brought in precious films that my grandfather had taken starting in the 1930's. I wanted them to be put on a cd. Duggal messed up so many times I went through several technicians over a long period of time. They lost a couple of reels (need I repeat that they were precious to me?) and even after I numbered each reel chronilogically, the finished product wasn't in order. They charged way too much and I was so upset by the whole process I wrote a letter to the president who never even acknowledged it. I hate even going by the place. I wish I could give them no stars or negative stars. read more

I sent this email to Ryan, the Customer Service manager, on April 30, 2014. I am writing to you about the three rolls of 120 film I sent to Duggal back in February to be low res scanned. The reason is that Duggal totally screwed up my order, to wit: My order of February 28th specified: "I am enclosing three 120 rolls of Ilford XP2 B&W for scanning. I want full roll, 5 megabyte, Pro scanning. The three rolls are numbered 1474, 1475 and 1476. It is essential that these numbers are in the folder name for each roll you scan. In addition, it is essential that the scanned images on the CD be in the same order they are on the film rolls. If either of these requirements is not possible, then please do not scan the 3 rolls and send them back." I sent the rolls to you by FedEx on Feb 28, and gave Duggal my FedEx number to send the rolls and scans back to me. I expected to get these back in a week. After 10 days I didn't receive my order, so I called customer service. It turned out that the rolls were misplaced; once found, I was told that they would be scanned and shipped within 2 days. Duggal charged my credit card $42.75 on 3/10/14. Another week went by without receipt of the rolls and scans, so I called a second time. This time, the scans had been done, but the order was shipped to my old address --the one you had for me in your computer, NOT the one on my order. In addition, the order was shipped WITHOUT requiring a signature guarantee! Fortunately, the new tenant in my old apartment turned the scans and rolls into the rental office. I then had to arrange--and pay for--FedEx to pick my order up and ship it to my correct address. After all this, I received a thumb drive with your scans. But my MacBook Pro didn't recognized the drive so I couldn't import the scans. My Windows PC strung all the images together, instead of each roll separately as I had specified in my order, so these scans were useless to. So I called you, Ryan. You posted the scans to Webcargo and sent me a CD with the scans. But Webcargo didn't work because of an error. So I imported the images from the CD. This is what I found: Roll 1474: 1 scanned image--but there are 10 images on the roll. Roll 1475: 8 scanned images--but there are 9 on the roll. You skipped the 8th frame. Roll 1476: 15 scans and 15 frames, but followed by images that are not mine. In sum, Duggal screwed up my order to a staggering extent, even giving you over a month to do the work I specified. In addition to the $42.75 I paid you, I had to pay FedEx three times, so I am out over $100 with nothing to show for it. Your scans not only did not follow my specific instructions, but are totally worthless to me. This horror show on the part of Duggal, obviously, is totally unacceptable. I therefore request and expect to receive a full refund of the $42.75 I paid Duggal back on March 10. If I do not receive a credit for $42.75 within a week of your receipt of this letter, I will contest the charge with USBank. Thank you in advance for your prompt attention to this matter. After this email, Duggal did refund the $42.75. But I was still out the FedEx charges for three shipments. I don't know how much this was exactly, but probably around $60. Then I had to send the rolls to another lab to be scanned. If it cost about $20 each way, this adds up to yet $40 more dollars. read more

Moving to a new city means blank walls and an apartment that's in need of a little sprucing up on the visual front. I've always loved pop art and found Duggal Visual Solutions to print a pop art poster with a Benjamin Disraeli quote that I live by. The process was very simple, I simply provided my quote and a shipping address and they did the rest. The result was an eye-popping canvas poster mounted to a wooden frame with a wire for hanging it on my wall. There were no flaws in the color and the image looked pristine, which can be a hit or miss when printing with canvas. Duggal offers a wide array of printing service and I'd definitely recommend working with them when you're in need of a reliable printer for a project, whether it's a small job or a huge printing endeavor. I've worked with printers in the past and not all think before they print or contact you when issues arise before the job is done. Incredibly inconsistent. Ruined an entire negative of C41 film. My guess is that the person wasn't paying attention and used the wrong process for the film. So a day of shooting down the drain. So far my experience with Duggal has been good. I was exhibiting my first Art show and the FUJI department was A+ in helping me get the best results. In my opinion, there needs to be better coordination between the front desk, the printing and the mounting departments. I've been going to Duggal for about a year now and have really liked the service. My old lab closed down and I went to Duggal because they had the "biggest name" but I was really happy to find they had so many more services than my old lab. There digital c print department is awesome, Misha is the most patient man I have ever met and he always makes my prints look good. In their gallery I saw samples of printing they did direct on to aluminum for one of their big artist accounts, I tried it out and the metallic effect was awesome with my image and it sold! read more

My recent Experience with the E6 development done by Duggal is disappointing: Films are not clean. Colors were a little off (esp. with 120 kodak E100g). Reception staff behaves in accordance with the prententious entrance hall. Lab-Performance was not on par with their self-presentation and high prices. Not recommended. read more

I have been a Duggal customer for over 4 years now. For the most part I use Duggal for film processing. They are one of the few remaining traditional photo labs left in NYC, and they do a great job processing specialty films like the kind I use. Duggal also does printing and other specialty graphics services. Once I had them do some old photo restoration and printing work for me, and I was pleased with the result. Overall, my experience has been positive. Many of the staff who work the front desk have been with the company for many years, and the long-term ones remember my name when I come in. The overall pick-up and drop-off process is much smoother since they redesigned the service area last year. read more
