Had a new system installed by Duggan's One Hour 3 months ago. The air handler underneath the house in the crawl space had excessive vibration & would rattle a coffee mug on the glass top of my very heavy coffee table (solid wood with iron metals). Allen Canter came out & diagnosed the problem - out of balance blower fan (not motor). The replacement part came in next day, Allen returned to install the blower fan. The problem was resolved. Everything was done under warranty. I'm a happy customer. Allen did a great job & Duggan's delivered on their warranty promise. read more

We had our HVAC issue fixed by a more reliable company for less than $400 when this company took over $500 from us and probably would've taken about $3k more and not fix the issue. Their club membership is a scam. Technicians from other companies commented that both our inside and outside units were very dirty. This company was supposed to be cleaning both. I do not typically write reviews, I would rather work with the company to fix a problem if it happens. I got a new unit in March 2023. a week ago this past Friday my thermostat shut off and the unit stopped working, I replaced the thermostat on that friday night after spending $180.00 on a new one, the unit came back on and run for about a day and turned off again. I called Duggan and asked for emergency services, their 24hr service turned into 4 days later. The unit came back on again, but this time it drained onto the floor in my living room. I called again on that Sunday and I was told that they still could not come out until Wed the following week, I was also told that I could not call anyone else because it would void my warrantee. They said they would call me back the next day (Monday) to see if they could get there faster but I never heard back from them. When the tech came out he found that the drain line was backed up, he was good and took care of the problem-----now the bad part, I was told that the office would call me back about the damage on the floor, no such luck for a couple days. I did speak to Rebbeca (office manager) and she started with that she saw the photo's but that it would not be their responsibility to fix anything, she stated that she would call me back the next morning to try to work it out. Next day goes bye and another day and nothing from her. I called back a day later and asked to speak to Tony the GM/CEO, I was told that I could not speak to him, and that they would have another manager call me. I got another call, and even though she did not identify herself, i knew it was Rebecca. Rebecca started out with the fact that they would not take care of the issue for me, they would not even send a manager to the house to look at the floor. Just so you know I am talking about an area about 4X4, and I even found some flooring planks from when it was replaced years before, I let her know that I was not looking for anything unreasonable, just help getting it replaced. Rebecca stated that she could send someone out to give me a quote to get it fixed. I am stuck paying for new flooring and keeping this company because of the warrantee. Bottom line is that they do not respond to the advertised 24/7 guarantee, and the attitude of the customer service is not good. The fact that the higher managers will not even speak to customers that are having issue's or make a visit to the home is what I would call unacceptable, unprofessional and speaks volumes about their integrity and honesty. I believe that if they would have responded as advertised my floor would have not gotten ruined. Oh well another lesson learned, and another company that will not even try to do the right thing be someone that paid them 8K to do a job for you. read more

I had Duggan's One Hour Heating & Air install a new Amana air conditioner in 2012. They cut and removed a large portion of the exterior brick wall in order to install the unit. They were suppose to install a brick lentil so as to keep the exterior brick wall from collapsing. After the installation we had problems with the unit. It had been installed with no Freon in the unit. They returned and resolved that issue. Later we noticed cracks in the exterior brick wall. They returned and supposedly resolved that issue. It has continued to crack and sag. Just recently, in September of 2024, I contacted them and informed them of the on-going issue. They sent a couple of gentlemen out and stated it was normal settling of the foundation and charged me $129.00 for the call. I decided to crawl under the house to take pictures of the lintel. Much to my surprise there was no brick lintel just a 2"x4" supported by a single jack to hold the weight of the brick wall. I contacted them again this time sending them the pictures that I had taken. No response. I am very displeased with Duggan's One Hour Heating & Air. I would not recommend them to anyone. read more

This company failed to fix my HVAC several times in 2018, and in 2019 I eventually let them convince me to pay $6k for a new HVAC. It proceeded to partially break the following winter and halfway heated my house on emergency heat. That skyrocketed my electricity bill, but I was working enough that I didn't bother getting it fixed until recently. They managed to get the system back online but told me I needed a new part (just under a grand) or the system would break again once I switched over to heat this winter. It then broke two days later. When I called them for another fix, I was told a technician would call me the next day to discuss this. I didn't get a call the next day and had to call back the day after that. Someone who sounded like a manager called me back and told me in the same conversation that I didn't need the part her technician recommended because it wouldn't resolve my issue, and I also needed to pay for the part if I wanted my AC back on. That didn't make much sense to me. As I tried to figure out what she meant she got extremely rude with me. It baffles my mind that customer service can be so bad at a company. They are by far the worst I've ever dealt with. I strongly do not recommend this company unless you don't mind getting nickel and dimed by some strangely rude people. read more

So, here's the deal. DO NOT JOIN THE "CLUB"! I was sold a bill of goods on how joining the club put you on a priority and you wouldn't have to wait/same day service and all that. Well, it turned out to be a load of crap. They performed service on our units a couple of weeks ago. Not sure what was involved in the service because we turned on the heat for the first time with the cold snap last night and no heat. I called this morning (Tuesday) and was told they wouldn't be able to see us until Thursday afternoon! Doesn't matter that THEY just supposedly serviced the units and I'm a member of this so-called "club." Also, we experienced a similar delay of 2-3 days when we needed service on our AC. UPDATE: So I found another company to come out today (they were even early) and I will review them elsewhere. The reason for this edit and downgrade to one star is that the service Duggan's did the first week of October was not done correctly. The coils in the main unit were completely filthy and gummed up. That is definitely supposed to be part of the routine maintenance and the technician could not believe how recently the unit was supposedly serviced. So, even with another six months left on my club membership, Duggan's will not see my house again. Thankfully, I hadn't gotten them signed up to service the business yet. read more

I was a longtime customer of Duggan's and had been generally happy with their work except for one technician. I'm not going to say his name because I genuinely like the man but he is not very competent. Each time he came to do work he would always have to come back at least one or two times to get it right or have another technician fix it. This most recent time was the last straw though. I come home from a trip on a Sunday and the AC upstairs isn't running. I call and leave a message. I call again in the morning because I didn't get a call back and I am told they can be there that afternoon. So I take off work and wait. I get a call later in the day and they ask some questions and then say they will call me back but never do. During that time I got my ac running but it cuts off intermittently so the upstairs is livable. They never show up that day and when I call they say I thought someone told you. So they say they will be there the next afternoon. The Tech arrives and determines it's the thermostat which I had suspected and I had purchased one which he installs and says everything is good to go. My family and I go to dinner to come home and find the AC unit, while the thermostat says ac on, is not coming on. I immediately call and I'm told I will get a call back. I call again a couple of hours later and I'm told the same thing even though it is evening time. By 11 pm I give up. The next day I call and they say they will send the same tech out again. I tell them I don't want him send a different tech but they say it will be a week for any other tech. I tell them I just want my money back then and I'll use someone else. They have refused to give me a refund at this point. I would avoid this business. read more

I really wish I'd read reviews before joining their discount club. My hvac system is 7 years old. They've come out to repair it 3 times and yet it keeps having problems. They guarantee 2 cleanings a year under their club, we never received it and they only agreed to rectify this after we've moved out- They offered no discount and no refunds for missing the service that we paid for. Only reason they get 1 star instead of 0, all of their technicians are ploute and helpful, just wish they could spread this energy to their management and ownership. read more

Warning: Stay FAR away from this company! They sell extremely poor quality products that do not last. Further, they price gouge you when you call about a repair and/or maintenance. Finally, the technicians are not doing quality work. We bought a brand new air conditioning unit through Duggan and in less than 24 months it was broken. From that point, their technician has been out to fix the unit every 6-12 months which has costed us thousands of dollars. This is not normal for brand new equipment which should last 10-20 years. Further, the staff is unwilling to help resolve the issue but would rather continue charging us for repairs. We are thoroughly disappointed in their service and business practices. PLEASE RUNNN TO THE NEAREST REPUTABLE HVAC COMPANY! They are not worth the time nor aggravation. We are currently about 14 months into a unit replacement and have had the unit already stop cooling. They sent a tech out and tried to charge a diagnostic fee which I refused to pay as we were told by the sales agent that we would be covered for a FREE replacement should the unit malfunction within the first 5 Years.(Clearly all lies!!!). The technician fixed the issue but we started noticing mold around our vents. We called a mold expert out and they confirmed this was due to improper installation and sweating around the vents. They claim this was not a part of the service we paid for. They refused to also send over a copy of the contract we signed to verify this. Be very careful when you choose this company. In the middle of the hot Augusta summer, our AC quit working unexpectedly. I chose this company to do the repair and when the man came out from Duggan, he gave me a $600 quote for the repair. I gladly paid it (it was over 90 degrees inside the house) and he went on his way. Within two days, the AC stopped working again. I called them back out and discovered that the part that he fixed was not the part that was actually broken. Except this new part was actually $1600 to replace. And he could only give me a credit for half of the work he had done the first time because the "coolant he used was not free". In my mind, had he done the job correctly the first time and fixed the correct part that was leaking coolant, then the coolant he had used the first time wouldn't have been wasted. Instead, they expect me to pony up an additional $1400 to correctly repair the part. Avoid these guys like the plague. read more

Honest, hardworking, and high integrity company . Our diligence period was almost up on our home that had a 1992 A/C unit. We just moved to the area so we had no who to use to look at our 1992 unit. I reached out to them late Thursday hoping to get someone out there before the weekend. The sweet receptionist on the phone refused to tell me they couldn't come even though they were fully booked and told me she figure something out. The owner, Tony, ended up coming to check out our A/C unit and furnace Friday morning. Right off the bat when speaking with Tony my instincts told me he is honest and has integrity. They have set prices so you never have to wonder if they are over charging you. Reasonable and fair pricing. They do background checks & drug tests on all their workers. That last part is everything to me when allowing someone to enter our home. *Tony noticed something at our house that was a huge safety concern (our house could have easily burnt down) that we had overlooked with all the chaos of buying our first home. Tony also let us know we need to take care of that other issue first before we worry about anything else- even before throwing money his way for a new unit. How are you on your site advertising 24hours and saying you are booked. First of all I'm sure it's not that many emergencies in a day to be saying that you all don't have any appointments available especially when you all advertise one hour service and there's 24 hours in a day. Like they are seriously on there website false advertising. So the whole statement " We're ready to answer your call 24/7 so that you can quickly find a solution to your HVAC emergency! Our Augusta HVAC technicians love making you comfortable, and they're always ready to help" it's a straight up lie I called them letting them know My air conditioner went out and my thermostat is currently reading that's it 80 degrees in my house and my 80-year-old mother, one year-old son and asthmatic daughter is in the house and they did absolutely nothing but set me up with an appointment for two days later. That is an emergency especially the fact that it's 80 degrees in the house and we just went and purchased fans for every room and it still isn't doing the job and they still aren't trying to send a technician out here. I do not recommend this company if it's an emergency by no means. I am writing a letter now to this company to say how unhappy I am and how terrible the service is. I paid $10,500 for my unit which has had error messages from the very beginning. I have called numerous times and the problem has never been resolved. I have paid less than $4,000 for HVAC units from other companies and have never had a problem. Tech came out ($89) and told me I needed a new unit $6000 or $1500 worth of repairs. I had a second company come out and look at it, they fixed the control panel in 5 mins and cleaned the entire unit for $150. They either need new technicians or need to teach their techs to fix things instead of upsell. read more

Duggan Heating & Air is squeaking out a 4 star rating based on the quality of service. They had some problems over multiple days/appointments making it to our house at our appointment time, and that's a big deal to me. That being said, once we got them out to the house, the service was great, and the pricing was fair. We had two different guys come out - one for AC maintenance and another to handle some electrical work. Both of them were extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Even given my frustration with their scheduling (benefit of the doubt - small, hometown company that's too in demand for the size of its workforce), I would most certainly use them again in the future. read more

I contacted this company to get a new HVAC system. The only thing I could say positive about them is they have a really good salesperson. For subsequent needs, they lack customer service quite a bit. My system was installed the last week of December 2019. During installation there were 2 guys working and another dropped by without acknowledging my presence in my home. At the end of the installment, they seemed to rush out and I had to ask for instruction on how to program my new thermostat. That process was rushed as well. I followed up with the local company about my warranty and wasn't issued it until months into 2020, I think March. I had to call for a service check July 4. When I did I explained that I was in my 2nd trimester of pregnancy but due to the overhaul of calls, I wasn't able to get serviced until the next day. The technician that came did not wear a mask inside my house and told me because it made him hot. And he explained that upon my initial installation, they did not flush the line which caused the problem. I asked if this was covered under warranty and was told it was. Over the last 2 weeks I have began to have issues with my system not working around 4pm. I called about it and was told I had to leave a credit card number on file so they can charge me since I wasn't going to be at home during the service call. I told them I was not comfortable doing that and was met with what I believe is attitude from someone named Dion that I was speaking with. I wish I could give this system back to them and never looked their way. They have poor customer service and lag with follow up. read more

Let's start with the good: We chose Duggan as part of a buyer agreement to have our HVAC inspected following the sale of our home. The tech was on time. He checked out both furnaces and both AC's, found valid flaws and corrected them. Total cost was right at $500. After he left, I noticed the smell of natural gas upstairs. I refrained from calling the gas company for all the fuss and emergency vehicles they would send (I've been there), and decided to call Duggan instead, so long as they could get the tech back to the house immediately. He returned right away, and was already carrying a length of flex hose, admitting that he knew what he had done--he had failed to replace a piece of flex hose that got damaged during the work. After he left, the downstairs AC began freezing up. It seemed suspicious, given that the tech had just left, and I called them again after the weekend. Almost all of the problems with freezing up are the fault of a low charge. The tech argued with me on the doorstep, insisting my capacitor needed replacing, because the evaporator fan did not work, which caused the unit to freeze up. I insisted that the evaporator fan WAS running, but he insisted that I was wrong. Eventually, I let him have his way; he installed a new capacitor, and charged me $250 on top of the $500 I had spent a couple of days prior. He refused to add freon to the unit, telling me that it was "illegal," and said that, with the new capacitor, the unit would work. Except it didn't. It froze up immediately. Because... freon. I called the home warranty people we normally deal with, and they sent out a tech, who agreed that the freon load was the problem. After a quick load of approximately 1.5 lbs of freon, the unit worked again. I'm afraid Duggan punked me. Punked me real good. I would have given them 3 stars, even with the gas leak. After feeling punked, I give them one. read more

I highly recommend Duggan's One Hour Heating and Air. They installed units in my home and service them twice a year. The technician Calvin arrived on time to service the units this month. He cleaned the units and replaced parts under warranty that needed to be replaced. He explained everything he did to keep the units running well. He left the work areas neat and clean. He was extremely polite. I highly recommend Duggan's and especially Calvin for his A++ Service! read more

Bought a 3 ton air unit from duggan 10/06/08. it has beenserviced 3 times for coil replacement addedcoolent added wires were not properly routed. tried to talk toMr. Duggan was never allowed to byanyoneat that time. have wrote letter to him saying my unit is alemon was a lemon from get go. no helpwith warrenty on air unit says 10 yrs .if not satisified will give money back or if unit fails will install new furnace. ours broke down sept 8 2011 july 16 20 12 got letter from dantignac and merritt heating and air sent it with letter to duggan heating and air. no responce on fixing or replaceing my unit wanted to charge me 1,000.oo to fix it last time. had to get it fixed. WE also pd cash for unit and 2 year warrenty extra. cash. since then my spouce has died and i am on fixed income. we did this before he died for protection for me. has not been any. i would not buy any air condition from them again and the unit was a lemon from get go. what kind of service is that. thanks for listening Barbara Osorio read more
