Second time trying Dukes! Both have been for takeout though so it's not the same experience as eating it right away. Duke's reputation as a BBQ icon is well deserved. They have a wide variety of great meat choices, all of which are smoked to perfection without being dry. I enjoyed the Brisket and the Pulled Chicken, but the sausage is also great. The sides are delicious as well. I had pit style beans and Potaoe Casserole. I was blown away by both, they were excellent. It's a fast casual format where you order and pay and then sit down as they bring your food. We ordered the Shack Pack: 1/2 Lb Smoked Chicken + 1/2 Lb Brisket + 1/2 Lb Pork + 1/2 Slab Ribs ( 2 Sides ) ( + 2 Desserts ) $59.99 Says feeds 4-6, our family of 4 couldn't finish. They were out of chicken and allowed us to substitute burnt ends (but let us know they would normally up charge for that). The woman who took our order said we could do 2 sides and 2 desserts or 3 sides and 1 dessert. We elected the latter but when we went up to ask about our dessert a different woman working the counter said dessert was only included if ordering 2 sides. So that was disappointing as we wanted to try the butter cake everyone seems to like. We elected not to complain but we also weren't willing to spend more. Brisket and pulled pork were great, burnt ends were slightly dry but still awesome. The ribs were not the fall of the bone tender type which some people prefer but slightly toothy which I prefer. What better way to end a work week than with BBQ! Dukes BBQ Shack (DBS) has been on the radar for some time and finally got the opportunity to try it out. Located in Wentzville, MO just west of St. Louis , DBS is legit BBQ. I've had my fair share of BBQ across the country and Dukes is right at the top of the list. DBS has the traditional brisket and pork you see at many bbq restaurants, but what sets them differently from other is their smoked chicken! Deliciously seasoned, moist and tender I, couldn't stop eating it. Brisket and pork items (pulled and ribs) were also very good. In fact, a top contender in the state . Finally the brisket, I made the mistake of thinking I needed a fork to cut the brisket into pieces. Brisket was perfectly tender and what I expected in great bbq. Now to the sauces, DBS brought out the big guns of Sauces deliciousness. From traditional sweet, spicy and mustard bbq sauces you expect DBS went nuts and made a awesome horseradish bbq sauce with the perfect combination of spicy and sweet to complement anything served on you tray! BDS has plenty of seating options inside and outside. They also have an old fashioned decorative sink to wash hands after a great food battle. Tables were serviced quickly and staff provided excellent service and goes out of their way to answer any questions regarding their menus or general bbq questions. Duke's BBQ Shack is legit.
