Second time trying Dukes! Both have been for takeout though so it's not the same experience as eating it right away. Got the brisket and chicken and both were great (tender and good flavour), the BBQ sauce was really flavourful as well. Placed the order online and was ready a bit earlier than the estimated time. There's plenty of seating inside and the decor looks really cool. Would definitely try to eat here next time (too bad they're closed on Sundays!)

Enjoyed the cooler weather by sitting on Dukes patio for lunch today. Lots of outdoor seating and fans going and music playing. I had the pulled pork sandwich and my husband had ribs and wings. All of it was delicious! Service was fast for lunch and delivered to the table with a smile!

YUM!!! If you are looking for the most tenderest, flavorful brisket, look no further! We tried the Dukes Plate which came with a variety of meats and 2 sides. Beans and cole slaw are my go to sides, and boy, did they hit the spot! I am not really a pulled meats person, but the pulled meats here did not disappoint. The seating area inside is somewhat small and cozy. Service was quick! Definitely worth a try!

We had been seeing reviews and decided to give it a try. We had to get the brisket ragoon. We got the dirty mustache and the dirty bird. You place your order at the counter. The lady explained the menu and took our order. We took a seat and they brought our food to our table. The seating area was a little small but everything tasted great.

SO VERY GOOD! From the apps we ordered, to the sandwiches, and all the sides too, everything was extremely tasty. The service was friendly, yet efficient. The ambiance is lovely. And there are so many more menu items that I'd love to try. That Alabama BBQ sauce is da BEST! It's a really long drive for me, but I figure it's a good place to hit up when I'm out this way for other reasons...

Duke's was an impressive bbq spot and a new local go-to for us. The service was great, the owner was so friendly, and the restaurant felt like a modern chain in its elevated marketing and decor, but yet is a one stop spot. Loved: the Dirty Mustache sandwich and Mac and cheese. I got the sandwich on Texas Toast which I highly recommend. The Mac and cheese has a really good smoked flavor Liked: the ribs had a really great flavor, but weren't fall off the bone. Otherwise, so good!

The ambience of the place is very cool for a bbq joint! Incredibly clean and well maintained! This was our first time and the service was great! She recommended a few things and explained all the special; all with great enthusiasm! The food was pretty good. I'm not a big fan of sloppy bbq which was perhaps my fault for ordering what I did. The ribs had a bit more fat than I like too, but both the pulled pork and ribs were tasty just not my preference. My dad loved the bbq wontons though! I think they recommended the bbq tacos (which they only serve on Tuesday) and supposedly they are the bomb. Def will try them next time!

Duke's reputation as a BBQ icon is well deserved. They have a wide variety of great meat choices, all of which are smoked to perfection without being dry. I enjoyed the Brisket and the Pulled Chicken, but the sausage is also great. The sides are delicious as well. I had pit style beans and Potaoe Casserole. I was blown away by both, they were excellent. It's a fast casual format where you order and pay and then sit down as they bring your food. There is a decent amount of seating but groups could be a challenge. I did see seating outside as well. The staff is awesome, and there are a lot of reasons to come here many times.

It's generally easy to tell how much love and care goes into a BBQ joint as there is no substitute for attention and time to produce good BBQ. Dukes delivers with only a few minor exception's. We ordered the Shack Pack: 1/2 Lb Smoked Chicken + 1/2 Lb Brisket + 1/2 Lb Pork + 1/2 Slab Ribs ( 2 Sides ) ( + 2 Desserts ) $59.99 Says feeds 4-6, our family of 4 couldn't finish. They were out of chicken and allowed us to substitute burnt ends (but let us know they would normally up charge for that). The woman who took our order said we could do 2 sides and 2 desserts or 3 sides and 1 dessert. We elected the latter but when we went up to ask about our dessert a different woman working the counter said dessert was only included if ordering 2 sides. So that was disappointing as we wanted to try the butter cake everyone seems to like. We elected not to complain but we also weren't willing to spend more. Brisket and pulled pork were great, burnt ends were slightly dry but still awesome. The ribs were not the fall of the bone tender type which some people prefer but slightly toothy which I prefer. Mac and cheese was so-so, but Smoky Gouda Potato Casserole was tremendous (think smoked au gratin). Corn bread had great flavor but we found it slightly gummy and perhaps not super freshly made.

Great atmosphere, great music and the food was an A+. Dining area was clean and nicely decorated. Music was classic country. We only had burgers but the smoke smell in this place is very pleasant.

A quick overall view of their menu and prices.

This is my favorite BBQ place in Wentzville. The prices are reasonable and the food is great! I highly recommend trying them out if you haven't already. If you have a choice between here and Sugarfire, choose this place. Not as expensive and the food is better in my opinion.

I added on a sausage and it was tasty.

I wanted to like this place more than i did but at the end of the day I had to use plenty of bbq sauce and sweet tea to eat my meal. I ordered the Duke's plate and a sausage as an add on. The sausage had a good snap and was quite tasty. The rest of my meats were too dry. The flavor was there and I could see how on a good day this would probably be an excellent place, but my $40 plate after tip wasn't doing it for me today. I will probably try it again to be fair and to try the wings. They have several wing contest trophies by the register, so maybe that's the thing to try. It's otherwise a cool looking place with friendly service. My rating would be between a 3 and a 4, probably a 3.7 or so.

What a great establishment! Excellent atmosphere and great BBQ. Our first time here. Plenty of parking and very clean. Easy to read menu on there wall. The service was great! We had a party of 5 so we tried several items on their menu. Everything was on point. Tried the Sweet, Bourbon and Spicy sauces. My favorite was the Spicy. Very Smoky with a little kick to it. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.

    Extensive menu!

This place has good food but they run out far too quickly. 5-5:30 they are always out of chicken and brisket.

If you have mobility challenges, park in the back, enter through the ramp and you'll be directly in the main dining room without having to deal with any steps. The establishment has such a fun vibe. It's located next to railroad tracks and embraces the train ambience detailed decor. The dress code is very casual. I was greeted warmly as I entered, and shown to a table. I was pleasantly surprised to not have to wait for a table on a Saturday night, even though they were rather busy. Service was top-notch throughout my visit. And we were even reminded of the "whistle stop" which is when a freight train rolls through unexpectedly and many drinks are half off during that time. It happened once during our 2+ hour visit. This is a barbecue place with many options for carnivores. During Lent season, they have a delicious fish sandwich available. It's really limited options though if you're vegetarian. That may change when they add some Mexican food to the menu soon. I hope. We chose to visit on a night when performer Terrance Wafer was playing. He played known top hits on an acoustic guitar with incredible vocals. We really enjoyed listening to him. I'm already looking forward to returning here.

We ordered the 3 meat plate (ribs pulled pork and burnt ends) with fried green beans and mac & cheese, brisket with fried okra and potato salad, and burnt ends plate with beans and potato salad. LOVED the burnt ends, ribs, and the bbq sauce selection they had. There was literally a sauce for everyone and was great for those who don't agree on a sauce choice to pick their own. Also loved their ranch to dip sides into! Surprisingly we really loved the complimentary bread given with plates, I don't know how they prepare it or what the bread is but it was perfectly crispy outside and fluffy inside, a great accompaniment for the bbq! We weren't a fan of the fried sides of okra or green beans (not much flavor to it and the batter felt a little heavy so it was a lot of grease instead of a light crunch) and the potato salad could've used more flavor. We sampled the potato salad before ordering and there was a good amount of diced onions and pickle but when we got the actual scoop of it with the meal we found it lacking that flavor that made it so good the first time around. Overall great bbq, lots of seating, and a bar selection. Will definitely be back! I absolutely prefer this to sugar fire

Today's orders were all quite tasty: Chicken Club Salad with ranch dressing 16", extra cheese pizza with hand tossed crust and a French tip on a garlic parm roll with onion rings. We don't have many sit down restaurants near us mostly fast food so when The Post was built we…read morereally wanted to like this place. Unfortunately, that is just not the case. We've really tried to like it by giving it numerous try's and ordering something different each time in hopes of finding our favorite menu item. We still haven't found one item that just "wows" us, but at least we've found something that we are okay with ordering if we have an invite to go there. Also, if you do make a visit to The Post, they only give you a printed menu with some of their food items. You have to open your phone and scan a QR code to get the whole menu which a lot of people don't even know and miss out on other options. I've also ran into issues with their reward system not tracking points accordingly if that's something you like to do too. So here's my take away on both the good and the bad from the food we've ordered thus far: 1) Pizza - not a fan of the crust it's too crispy almost burnt and the sauce is lacking flavor. 2) Tater Tots - great substitute for traditional French fries 3) Gyro wrap - I love Greek food, but they do not have this mastered. It's a poor excuse for a gyro. I really don't believe that it's lamb meat. Tasted more like old beef and not enough of the great Greek veggies. 4) Boneless Wings - tried both the honey hot and the carolina gold and both were good 5) Memphis Wings - probably my favorite menu item as long as the wings are good portion sizes. I've had them a couple times and each time the portions have varied. One time they were very skimpy with little to no meat on them which is not good with this type of wing because the seasoning is more like a dry rub so when there's little meat it's pretty sad cause the wings have dried out meat on them. When the portions are decent the flavor is amazing! 6) Post-it Cheesy Bread - it's basically cheesy bread, but the dough is just not for my family. We find it to be too "doughy". We tried it once and agreed we didn't need it again. 7) Chef Salad - Very large portion with lots of ingredients and do order the ranch dressing because it's homemade and easily one of my favorite salad dressings of any restaurant. 8) Side Salad - this salad is also a generous portion considering it's a side salad, but the ingredients on this salad could be considered a bit odd to some. It's made up of lettuce, croutons, raw onions, green peppers and tomatoes. It's unusual not to have cheese on a salad and even odder to have green peppers on it. I don't think the average person thinks of peppers on a side salad and was a bit surprised when it arrived. The next time I ordered it, I made sure to have them removed along with the onions so I basically had lettuce, tomatoes and croutons left. I asked if they could substitute cheese and was told it would be $1.50 more which seemed like a lot for a side salad especially when it's normally standard plus I was taking things off of it. 9) Grilled Tuna Sandwich- Absolutely disgusting. Worst thing I've ever eaten there. I took two bites total and let the rest go to the trash it was that bad. 10) Sloppy Johnny - their take on a sloppy Joe which my spouse loves to order. It's his first choice when we dine there. 11) Smashburger - two small burger patties smashed with some cheese so it's kind of hard to screw this one up. 12) Buffalo Chicken Wrap - very basic could've used more Buffalo sauce flavoring as I tasted more of the wrap and lettuce than anything. 13) Buffalo Chicken Sandwich - tasted like too much fryer oil and not enough Buffalo sauce. Almost tasted like it was a frozen patty with sauce pre added to it. 14) Chicken Cheesesteak - Another sandwich I just couldn't bring myself to finish it was so odd in flavor. It was mediocre at best. Also, way too much bread for the amount of chicken they give you. 15) Black Bean Cheese Quesadilla - this is something that has been both on and off point and make sure you read the ingredients thoroughly on the menu as it's not prepared the way the title reads. It's actually a black bean and corn salsa that's put into the quesadilla which can make it way too runny or even mushy if not cooked just right. They don't offer a traditional quesadilla so you'll have to customize this one and risk getting charged extra for all your changes.i wish they would add a basic cheese quesadilla to the menu. Well that's my review of the food now for the environment and staff. Most of the wait staff and bartenders are very kind and attentive. The only staff member that seems unhappy there is the night manager. He's always walking around looking like he hates his job. There's plenty of TV's to catch your favorite sports broadcast and they often have side bar giveaways going on. The outdoor patio setting is a nice option weather permitting. All in all, it's an okay place but the food definitely needs a step up.
