Walking in to the establishment is very overwhelming, there is a set way that you need to go but it's very narrow as soon as you get in. The only menu was an 8 foot menu hung up on the wall that I needed to stand at least halfway back down the hall to read. I am so happy it wasn't busy because otherwise there would have been a big back up. There is also a drink dispenser right when you walk in to grab drinks which I would also imagine is just a huge back up. Usually you get up to the front and go through like a cafeteria style but this was different where you ordered right at the cashier and then they went down and grabbed everything while you picked a seat. The cashier was nice enough but when I asked a clarifying question she looked at me like I had 8 heads. I just moved on and we paid, it was $50 for this whole meal. My husband loved his brisket sandwich and sides. I had turkey that was good, albeit a bit dry and the pork (the pieces I could find) were so delicious. However a lot of what I had in my portion was the bark that is very salty and a bit tough. Overall it was all just fine at best. Considering there was only 3 other tables in there I would have expected some more direction or interaction from any of the workers, but it was like everyone was avoiding us and speaking as little as possible. read more

I ordered the brisket dip on doordash and was completely disappointed. I have gotten this in person and it has been great but after this order I will never be back. When you go in person they give you a good portion of the dip in a well sealed container but this time i got a little sauce container that was half heartedly taped and thrown into the box. During delivery it spilled everywhere so the best part of my meal is gone and the rest of my food is covered in it. I took it up with doordash and have gotten no response. Had fried green tomato sandwich and a potato salad. The FGT sandwich was ultra good, but also ultra messy so be prepared with some wet naps! The cold slaw they put on it was so good and had a sweet component to it that was such a great combo w the fried green tomatoes. The potato salad Was good flavor. My Son got the dip, (roast beef or brisket I think) or some kind of beef sandwich that you dip and he really enjoyed that with different bbq sauces to try. They got the cornbread as a side and I have to say we were all disappointed in that! We wanted it to be good! We all tried it (4 of us) and had the same experience, it was very dry and crumbly. We wondered if it was maybe a day old piece? That is really the only complaint. We had hoped a bbq place had really good cornbread. The Mac n cheese and chicken strips were all great! I periodically order the burger & fries for lunch because the Wentzville location is less than one minute away from my apartment. My last order, which I placed via their worthless website, consisted of the Bacon Cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, pickles, and onions, and fries. When I got home, remember that my apartment is less than one minute away, I discovered that my burger was absolutely plain. Just two extremely dry and tasteless patties on a bun. As for the fries, they were burned and hard as a rock. When I called to speak to the manager, she was very dismissive and was putting the blame on me stating that I screwed up when placing my order. I told her, then why does my receipt state otherwise. I asked for a refund, and was denied. It took my speaking with the owner of this location to achieve a resolution to my problem. Being so close to St Louis, I had expectations of really awesome bbq. We got brisket nachos that were covered in the nacho cheese sauce that comes from a can and a pulled pork platter that was pretty mediochre in flavor. Typically I take photos when I know I'm going to be doing a yelp review, however, the food was so good and we were so hungry I didn't even take the time to take a photo. We ordered a turkey Caesar salad Smoked salmon and turkey plate with beans and green beans. A Carolina sandwich with turkey as the choice of meat. And a cookie of course! You have to get the chocolate chip cookie tasted fresh and soft. We ordered a lot of dishes with turkey and in so glad we did, it was cut thick with great flavor! Starting this off to say I don't usually review places, but I had to do it for this place! We are in town for a friend's wedding and stopped in as our hotel recommended them. The food was AMAZING. We got a little bit of everything and nobody had a complaint. But the real star of the show was Kristen, who I believe to be one of the managers. She was one of the best bartenders/servers we've ever had! She was so kind and upbeat and really made us feel like we were her friends! She makes the best shakes and even gave us a great recommendation for a brewery that was nearby that we loved! The rest of the staff were extremely friendly and fun as well! Now I've been to many sugarfire locations, overall this tops it. I went during lunch and it's a nice system. You start with your drink then work your way around the menu. Now If you are trying to get in and out this is definitely the place to go. The food was amazing as usual and the fries was really good. It's honestly worth the drive. The atmosphere was very nice and this is by far the BIGGEST sugarfire I've been to. You have plenty of room for family members or friends to join you. Well done. Went here to celebrate a friend's birthday. I have been to Sugarfire before, but a different location and it's been a long time. I love that they have daily specials and that the sides change. I also was very excited to see that they have adult shakes in my favorite drink - White Russian. I ordered one STAT! It was smooth and creamy and the perfect consistency with lots of whipped cream! For food I ordered the chicken sandwich - hot. I didn't really love this... but I do have a high expectation of hot chicken sandwiches. It was a filet with thin breading. Taste was fine, i just didn't love it. Fried ordered brisket and it was delicious! For sides I had fries which I didn't order but there was confusion and they put them on my order for free and I loved them and also brisket fried rice- ORDER THIS if they have it when you go. WOW the sides were impressive! The service was stellar! I was greeted directly upon entering. You order cafeteria style and pay and then find a seat. All of that went well and everyone was helpful. The big standout happened from an accident I had... After I ordered that AMAZING milkshake.... I had a couple of drinks and then was setting the cup down and it slipped all the way across the table onto the floor! It was terrible! The employee that made it came over to ask how it was and saw my mess (it was mainly under the table) and offered to make me an entirely new one for FREE - this is an expensive milkshake yall! That is great service! I felt terrible that I had done the spilling and there was still plenty so I passed on a remake, but he did bring the whip cream over and topped it off again. THANK YOU! I rated this down one star as the chicken was not impressive, but also when you enter it is confusing and a very small space to be confused in. I've had the turkey, pulled pork and brisket. All are phenomenal. They have hand cut fries which are my favorite side. They also serve smoked chocolate chip cookies and pies!!! This location in particular has ample parking along with a beach volleyball court with court side bar. I think I love STL BBQ so much because of the St. Louis sweet sauce. We don't live in the area, but we come often. They've done a good job with COVID, with all their servers wearing masks (local shops don't require masks). We usually come Saturday for lunch, and the line moves quickly. The outdoor space is wonderful. TVs, fire pits, volleyball, outdoor bathroom. Everything we've gotten here is delicious, but we usually land with the meat daddy and split it between 2 people. Most recently, we tried the pepperjack mac and cheese and it was incredible. Well, driving home to Charleston SC and the transmission failed in Wentzville MO. This place was not a bad choice since it was across the street from the hotel. Nice atmosphere and staff, and they do offer a military discount. Big thumbs up for that. So at first I didn't think the portions were big but with the three meat plate with Pulled Pork, brisket, and sausage with Hashbrown casserole and applesauce bread pudding. The PP was good and juicy with a just right amount of bark. The brisket was also good with a nice piece of fat cap on the slices, although I would have liked them warmer. The sausage had just enough heat to let you know it was a smoked sausage but the Carolina mustard sauce and sweet sauce was ok, not like home but it was ok. The sides were ok as well; I would have liked to see the casserole with a crispy edge to show that it was baked. The bread pudding was also good enough to finish, it had good flavor but would have liked a bit of whipped topping to wrap it up. It started out as a three start but the service, discount, and the overall great staff took it to a four. If I ever pass through again I would stop by for another quick bite. I ordered the chicken sandwich and it was one of most driest, tasteless boring chicken sandwiches. The biscuit alone was about the size of a Big Mac. I took one bite and spit it out. My husband said it was like a hard tack biscuit that are meant to last for 50 years for old maritime sailing vessels. So I took the piece of breaded chicken off which was soggy & flavorless and attempted to enjoy it with the variety of sauces displayed on the table. For the win the coffee sauce gave my meaningless chicken life again. I don't like to be so negative so the pickles were hands down super crunchy and delish and assisted with the life of the chicken.
