    Cloud 9 sandwich

Friendly, spacious breakfast/lunch diner buried in an office complex in Horsham. Succinct, thoughtful menu of good sandwiches and sides; you owe it to yourself to try the Cloud 9, diet allowing. An excellent playlist of high-energy 70s/80s funk and R&B was playing when I was there, always a plus.

Met my childhood friend here for lunch. Duke's is inside a business complex, but don't let that stop you. Anyone can dine here. Atmosphere: Duke's is a vibe!! They play music and the decor is soooooo cool!!! Service: The owner knows the regulars. She's very accommodating. Danny was awesome, too!! They made sure we were good. Let's get to the food!!! The menu is diverse. They have something for everyone. We ordered a Cobb salad that was fresh and delicious!! We ordered burgers: I had the Chipotle burger with avocado, extra onions bacon, and Chipotle sauce. My childhood beastie had the same burger except she had a teriyaki sauce. I had Tatar tots with parmesean cheese and truffle oil. Omggggg!!! They were sooo good. After I got home and ate the rest of them, I wanted more!!! Overall, I really enjoyed my food and can't wait to go back to try other things from their menu.

Duke's Cafe is located in the office building at 100 Witmer Avenue, and is easy to miss without road nor large building signs anywhere in sight. Still, it is worth exploring until found because you are in for a treat for breakfast or lunch If you do. This Black woman owned/operated kitchen caters primarily the tenants in the four story edifice, but were certainly happy to see an outsider there to check them out. I parked in the ample back parking lot and then walked the first floor halls until I found Duke's at the far left (east) of the building. The space was clean with oldie soul music filling the room. I scanned in to order from my phone, but also could have just placed my order directly with Rai, the owner's niece who was a one person show this day. I ordered Cloud 9, a combination of a french toast sandwich filled with spicy sausage links, eggs, cheese and tasty sauce. With side cup of breakfast syrup, it was almost more than I could eat, but delicious all the way down. The cross section of textures and flavors made it both unusual and unexpectedly delectable. Half would have been enough for me, but I just couldn't leave anything behind or in a doggy bag when it was awesome right off the grill, and I had watched Rai prepare everything from scratch. Well worth the morning cruise from home to try Duke's, even at 30 minutes. I'm told there is a second Cafe not far from this joint - definitely a credit to their work ethic and culinary success. Will track it down as soon as possible.

Service was excellent! We felt welcomed and comfortable as soon as we walked in, greeted by Mrs. D (owner) and Mrs. Vicky. The hubby and I decided on the cloud 9 sandwich and it did not disappoint. I'm all about spicy and this sandwich was the perfect touch of sweet and savory with fluffy French toast. The sandwich was huge, I had enough for breakfast the next day. We also enjoyed a boost shot while waiting for our food. Can't wait to get back to try other options on the menu.

If you are looking for a place with a great atmosphere and phenomenal food, look no further. Dee and the Duke's Cafe staff make you feel like family from the moment you enter the door. Everything is fresh and made with love and they welcome customizations. This team has mastered the art of customer satisfaction!

I did enjoy my burger but it looked so tiny next to the large portion of fries which I upgrade to the truffle fries. They were crispy with the Parmesan cheese but lacked the truffle flavor. The Oreo brookie was fair. The brown part was good but the cookie section was a little dry. I think I'll stick to my local Yard House in the future. Service was slow and I don't like the mixture between the live server and the machine on the table. One or the other and the customer should be able to decide.

Abby Hoffman of Yippie fame was an organizer, frequently hanging out here and speaking his form of political enlightenment. That was then. Now, little has changed in the early 18th Century riverside village far north of New Hope and Lumberville that feels like Middle Earth from Lord of the Rings. The bar is still in the basement. The backyard is still a peaceful glade for sipping cocktails or beer and listening to guitar or banjo chords and softly harmonic voices. Their website calls those days, "a simpler time," but I disagree. In fact, those days were complicated times as the community attempted to decide the future of Bucks and the ageless value of the natural flow of water. Demonstrations up and down the pristine Delaware were loud and at times destructive. Even back to Revolutionary times, the local patriots challenged the powers that be by word and deed, while others were loyal to the crown and spied on the rest or thieved horses to sell to the British. No. Those were the "times that tried men's souls." Hardly, simple. Nonetheless, the current incarnation of this tavern does possess the spiritual focus of Jack Kerouac, the author of Dharma Bums, On the Road and other highly influential books in my life. For that, I am grateful. My visit last weekend had me wondering why I hadn't been back in decades. The soulfulness mixed so well with local history, and but for the narrow paved roads and power lines, it could just as easily have been 1776 as 2026. The perfect place to celebrate and reflect on the 250th Anniversary of this inspirational country. Last night, the cocktails were well stirred and shaken. My Tamarind Margarita (without salt) was crisp with a pleasant tart kick. The Elote Corn Bite delicious and satisfying. The companionship of a dear friend, heartwarming.
