Not too wise, I was dead on empty this past week, just as I was driving through Rocky Mount. My GPS steered me to some really scary places, and all made me have the heebee geebies, until I came across the Shell station. Not only did it look somewhat safe, it was being used by a fair amount of people. I also had to stop inside to grab a bottled water for my trek and the inside was even neat and clean. I went back outside, pumped my fair priced gas, and eased out of there before my "too good to be true" experience in Rocky Mount could come to a screeching hault. The only negative aspect was that a lot of the pumps were out of order so I did have to drive around and wait for a pump to be available, but again, in the scheme of things, not too bad of a situation to be in.

During which I noticed a customer leaving. As the associate approached the door I asked her if I was mistaken that they were supposed to be open till 11pm to which she responded no. She further explained she was alone and not able to do the required closing tasks and safely keep an eye on the door. I had no problem with this and just told her I only wanted kerosene and immediately was let in for the purchase. She quickly transformed a potentially negative experience into a positive one. I'm all for safety but fully expect service during indicated hours.

Pretty cool that technicians get to pick and choose what gets reinstalled on a customer vehicle. They are good with tires, but I won't use them for other services again. Had I not done my own oil change I never would have known unless damage occurred. These things don't fall off on their own.

We stopped here at A-1 Brightside and they put the truck up on their lift and checked the transmission fluid. Fluid level was fine so they did some on-line research to avoid having to do a complete transmission analysis and gave us some very good suggestions. We tried those for the rest of our trip and the light never came on again. Very nice, respectful and the best was - NO charge. They said no charge as all they "really" did was check the fluid level. I'd go back there any time if I'm traveling through Rocky Mount and need transmission work. Thank you !!

My husband was driving and was able to get to an exit and pull over in no-man's-land North Carolina (right outside of Rocky Mount). My hubby popped the hood, checked the oil and some other stuff and all looked good to him. My brother and I know nothing about cars, so we stood by my hubby's side in support and in hopes that the hubby didn't ask us for help (LOL). We turned on the car again and it immediately started shaking, we had a solid 300+ miles to get back home to Arlington, VA, so we knew we needed professional help. We called several shops, many were unable to help us immediately, but when we called Tripp's, the person on the phone said they would squeeze us in despite being busy and he understood that our goal was to get my car fixed and back on the road in the same day. So, we contacted Geico, got a tow truck to come get us and we were on our way to Tripp's. Now Tripp's Automotive is a no frills shop, if your looking for some fancy spot, this is not it, this is a straight up car repair shop and I appreciate that. They looked at my car pretty immediately and they ultimately shared that the mechanism that makes the spark plug work, was not working and as a result one of my cylinders was not pulling its weight. My number one question with any car issue is...how much? Tripp quoted my repair at about $300 which I thought was super reasonable. So, the thing is Tripp needed a specific part for my 2019 Altima. While we were all in the waiting area, we witnessed and heard him contact several and I do mean several places to try to get the part he needed immediately. He also called the two nearest Nissan locations (I have an Altima). The best he could do was get the part overnighted to him, which meant we needed to spend the night in NC. The next day, he had the part in hand by 10am, was able to make my repair quickly and we were on our way. What I want to say is, Tripp and his troop were HONEST and communicative throughout our ordeal. I trusted him, I felt his quote was reasonable and the final cost of the repair and labor aligned with the initial quote we received. This was a true car repair shop, that's what they do and I am happy to throw them a 5 out of 5 review. Thanks Tripp!

I requested a partial fill instead of having the tank filled because we would not need that much gas for the time we would be there. I paid partial while I was there and then the remainder $133.54 when the driver came to put the gas into the tank. A few weeks later I received a bill stating that I owed several hundred dollars. I called to see what was going on and was told the delivery driver came out and accidentally filled up my tank which is on them, not me. When buying this home they the tank came with the home. We now have move and live in a new home and sold the home the gas was delivered to the new owners own the gas tank. I did not use 500 gallons of gas. It is still there in the tank. I do not see why I have to pay for a mistake that the company made. I do not have several hundreds dollars just laying around.

She was working today 1/15/2019 around 4:20 pm when I arrived. I came in, smiled and said how are you and she acted like she didn't want to say anything to me. She just said I'm fine with this mean look. I bought my lottery ticket and when I held my hand out to get it, she threw it down on the counter very aggressively and then looked at me and held her hand out to collect the money for it. I was about to do the same to her but I held my composure and just put the money in her hand. I left but went back in there just to watch her for a few minutes just to see how she interacted with other customers. She never smiled but she did speak to some customers without a smile at all so it had me thinking WTH is wrong with my look. I took two stars away, one for each of those employees. There is one employee there who is very nice. She is another older lady. She always speaks and smiles at the customers and one time she was there at the same time this male employee was there and he accidentally rung up two of the same lottery tickets for me and looked at me with a mean look expecting me to pay for them both. Then this nice employee jumped in before I said anything and offered to buy the other ticket herself. I wish that ticket had won. I know sometimes people have bad days but that is no reason to make someone else feel bad, especially a customer. I am so tired of going into these businesses here in Wilson and having to deal with these mean ass people. I decided I am going to give a review for every business I go to here. And when I stop at this business again, if the very nice employee is not there, they will not get my money that day or I might just stop coming all together because I feel like I am paying these mean ass people to stay there and that makes me part of the problem. It's time for change!!
