If you like to get scammed, you're gonna love Medlin Buick GMC. If I could give this place less…read morethan 1 star I would. I visited Medlin Tuesday July 30th to look at a used 10 year old Lexus SUV. I was working with the salesman Robert Harrison. I inspected the car, then took the car for a test drive with Robert. Robert was trying to convince me it was better to buy a brand new GMC, than a 10 year old Lexus. I disagreed. He could tell I was a serious buyer and mentioned that he wanted to get a deal done before the end of the month, which seemed reasonable to me. Because of this I spent an hour or so calling around Wilson for a mechanic that could do a Pre-Purchase Inspection on the Lexus before I bought it. I always get a pre-purchase inspection from a third party before buying a used car (and you should too) just to make sure there are know unseen mechanical problems with the vehicle. I finally got an appointment for the next day with the local Toyota dealership (Toyota owns the Lexus brand) to do the pre-purchase inspection. Robert went over the sale numbers with me and took my insurance info to have the paperwork ready when I came by the next day to take the car to the PPI. Before I left the dealership Robert asked if I changed my mind, or anything came up, to give him a call and let him know. I said I would. I live in Durham which is a 1 hour 15 minute drive from Medlin and if I wasn't going to come by it would be easy enough to call and let him know. I arrived on Wednesday the 31st at Medlin at the scheduled time to pick up the car and I thought it was odd that Robert was not there when I walked in. Usually when a salesman is itching to sell a car they are right there to greet you as you walk in the door. I asked for Robert and was told he was at lunch and would be back soon. I thought that was odd. So I walked out to the used Lexus I was going to take to pre-purchase inspection and after a few minutes Robert walked up with a pizza in his hands smiling. He said he meant to call me 10 minutes earlier because someone had called the dealership and bought the Lexus and already had wired them the money. I thought he was joking. So I said I needed to get going because it was almost time for the PPI appointment, but Robert said his story of the car being already sold again. He said they could have only held it for me if I had put a $5,000 deposit down. After spending over 2 hours with him the day before this was the first time I was hearing anything about needing to put a deposit to hold the vehicle. The Lexus had been sitting on the lot and advertised by Medlin for over 3 months. Never once did Robert or his sales manager mention to me the day before about putting a deposit to hold the vehicle, even though it was obvious I was a serious buyer. Once I realized that Robert was not joking and that they sold the car 10 minutes before I got there and didn't even bother to give me a call, I was floored. It was great that Robert didn't even apologize or anything for wasting 2 days of my life. I turned around in disbelief and walked back to my car. Robert said to my back, "Well, if there's anything else I can help you with just let me know." I didn't turn around and reply because I knew if I did the words I was going to say were not going to be polite. I'm actually glad it worked out this way, because I don't want to give those people any of my money.

Lee Jeep had my contact information and later confirmed I owed them nothing. Despite that, my Jeep was removed from their property without prior notice to me and without giving me a reasonable opportunity to pick it up. I only learned it had been moved after storage fees had already accumulated with a third-party tow/storage company that now says I owe them 46k in storage fees. This was a known customer service vehicle, not an abandoned vehicle, and the lack of communication created a serious and expensive problem.

This current visit they did not do what I had my truck in to have done, told me my air filter was completely clogged (after I changed it not 3 month ago) and said they would save it for me to see as I didn't believe them. They couldn't find the filter when I got there to pick up my truck. Hmmm. They added DEF fluid at an OUTRAGEOUS price, when I specifically told them I would take care of that myself. If you complain about legitimate issues, no one cares and they will do absolutely NOTHING about it. I will not be back and I will tell everyone I can not to bother going there!

We had an appointment at our local dealership for the following week to have the sound system looked at; we decided to check it out on our way back home, at Hubert Vester Chevrolet, in Wilson, NC instead. At the dealership, Ronnie Clark told us that usually, there were no technicians available on Saturdays, but there was one there that day (Saturday 11/20/2021). He checked with the technician, who was willing to see if the problem was minor enough to fix on the spot. He agreed to look at the car. I was thrilled! After a few minutes, Ronnie returned and informed us that the amplifier was the problem but was not in stock, and there were a few software recall items that the technician could solve that day. We agreed, and the work began. I received a text which allowed me to track the progress of the work. After about forty-five minutes, Ronnie returned with an update. Two of the software updates were complete, and the last one would take some additional time. We agreed to wait. Ronnie later checked back with us and informed us that there were issues with the update that needed additional help. He assured us that the technician was working on the issue, but it would take more time to complete than they initially thought. Eventually, it became evident that we would need to wait until Monday to get outside technical assistance from Chevrolet to resolve the problem with the car. Ronnie offered us a loaner car, but we refused because my husband had his car. Ronnie promised to resolve the issue early this week (not later than Tuesday, 11/23/21). We decided to cancel our appointment at home and leave the car to be updated and repaired at the dealership. Ronnie updated me on Monday 11/22/21 and Tuesday (twice) 11/23/21. My car was repaired and updated by Wednesday morning (11/24/21). My experience with the service department (notably Ronnie Clark and the technician who spent countless hours troubleshooting my car) is beyond words. I am sure your dealership services numerous vehicles every day. Ronnie made me feel as though I was the only customer you have. He genuinely made me feel as though my vehicle was just as important to him as it is to me and that his number one priority was to make sure that I was satisfied with the service and dealership experience. Please extend to him and the technician(s) who worked on my car my sincerest appreciation for a job exceptionally well done! It was well worth the hours we spent driving back to retrieve my vehicle.
