On my second follow up appt Julie was 45 minutes late getting there which also really annoyed me. I had Julie give me a more bold top eyeliner to an already existing liner from years ago. It turned out okay, it wasn't exactly what I wanted. While she was doing my liner she then went to my eyebrows and started making some corrections without even asking me first. She basically said "oh sweetheart let me do you a favor". Well no favor was done as I had really dark brown tattoo on my eyebrows and she completely f-ed it up by putting a different color, a lighter brown that was almost peach tint when it healed. So now I have to pencil in my brows to cover up the bullshit color that she put there without even getting my permission to do so. If you research her online, her and her father have been sued for apparently giving someone Hepatitis during the procedure in the past. She claimed to me that she herself makes and sharpens her own needles. Her prices are ridiculous too. She is not the inventor like she claims to be and her ego also rubbed me the wrong way. I find that very hard to believe as I have been getting tattooed for years by others across the USA. I would not recommend her at all.

I was intrigued as the main makeup I wore on a consistent basis was eyeliner. I wasn't sure I would always wear dark brown eyeliner so I told myself I would wait a few years and see if I was still wearing the same color. Sure enough about 7 years later I realized that I was in fact wearing the same color and hated applying it just as much as ever. And honestly just to get it right I had to cake it on and then use zillions of q-tips to erase all of the excess and get a clean line. What a mess. From what I understand the way my eyelashes grow (zig zagging up and down in a major way) it makes sense that eyeliner was difficult to apply. So for Mother's Day in 2007 I treated myself to permanent eyeliner at The Perfect Look. LOVE! After nearly 4 years, it has remained looking awesome but I was ready to go thicker and darker. So I went back to The Perfect Look today to do just that. Julie is an artist, thorough and wants you to look amazing just as much as you want it for yourself. It is not as painful or uncomfortable as you may expect. Friends have asked me "but don't you miss your fresh (no makeup) face?". Uhhh, no - I don't! And actually you get so used to it that seeing yourself with permanent makeup becomes what you view as your fresh face.

This is my second time going to see Lauren for upper lid eyeliner. I decided to go thicker this time. My next three sessions were more painful than expected and the healing was 10x worse than I remembered. The scabbing and inflammation lasted about 7 days. When talking to her about it, she didn't seem too concerned. I had the same reaction each session. I wasn't sure if I was having a reaction with the pigment or if her technique was way to harsh. She is very hot/cold. She seems to get very irritated easily and has an eerie energy about her. I would not recommend her for eyelids/eyeliner. She may have been doing permanent makeup for a long time but her technique was traumatizing and she is not very knowledgeable about medication. I am a Registered Nurse with ER/TELE/PACU and surgical post-op experience, therefore I have extensive knowledge on wound care. I'm also heavily tattooed and all my tattoos have healed well. This has been a learning experience for me. I highly recommend looking for photos of HEALED tattoos. Most of her portfolio contains fresh tattoos which look great.
