And then when i came back i leaned on my couch and noticed black stains on my cushion!! I touched the back of scalp and color from the scalp came on my finger so basically the shampoo after color wasn't done properly and there was still a lot of color left. I was so displeased. I went back. It was raining and really cold that day I still went back, the salon was closed. I wrote them an email next day and they just responded with a sorry on the email and saying they will talk to the girl who shampooed but I think even if they were a teaching salon the main stylist should have checked if the service was done properly, it felt like negligence and rushed service. I was not feeling well that day, and after that I had to wash my hair again at 9 PM on a very cold day, only because they didn't do it properly, i had an early morning flight next day and this totally ruined my mood. I expected them to offer me some refund atleast as service was so dismal.. when I had left 40% tip as well. Nothing like that not even a call from them for apologizing properly when i was an old customer.. This experience left such a bad taste in mouth, the color also stained my nails before my hawaii trip. I'm not going back

Parking was metered and easily accessible. I was greeted with a masked receptionist who took my temperature and got me ready for blow out appointment. Washed my hair in back sink and then took me to first chair for blowout. Shane was my stylist and made my hair look amazing. She was very professional and easy to talk to, I received a warm welcome and would like to go back for a cut and glaze service. Looking forward to making my next appointment.

Where to start…read more......... Had my hair trial in April for my August wedding. The trial itself went fairly smooth. Paid for the trial and booked my appointment for the day of the wedding. The owner even offered to do my hair for my party the day after for 1/2 price. My thoughts, "awesome! this is great!" The day of the wedding, I'm excited to get my hair done first thing in the morning. Appointment is 7:15am. I arrive and open the door to see only darkness inside. No one was there and I set the alarm off. Now Nutley PD are here, and I'm thinking.. is this really happening on my wedding day?!! I kept calling the owner who was unresponsive. The policemen searched inside, took my info, locked the door back up, congratulated me and left. She finally arrives at 8:05am. At this point, I don't know whether I should be more stressed or relieved that she finally came. Long story short, door was locked.. no one had keys.. so the waiting game continued. My appointment didn't officially start until almost 8:50am (over 1.5 hour past my appt time). Next day, I'm supposed to get my hair done by the owner. She promised me she'd be on time tomorrow. I arrive on time... lo and behold... SHE'S NOT THERE!!!!!!!!!!! Apparently, she wasn't 'feeling well' so she didn't come in. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!!!!!!! No courtesy call???? No heads up??? No taking responsibility to take care of your clients??? I was so furious at that point but I managed to keep myself together. I was told that my hair would be done by "the next available stylist." Excuse me but I am the bride. This is not how any bridal appointments should ever be managed. Needless to say, I will not return.

However, the building they are in is one of the newer buildings so they have a good parking lot and a small yet nice set up. I got a curly cut and a gloss from them. They did a great job, but I wasn't fully diffused, which was not my preference. My stylist was also taking another client as she was taking care of me so that wasn't ideal, considering that the pricing for the service was the same as that of a high-end stylist who would only be taking care of one person at a time - I say this, as I used to go to a high-end curly hair salon where the clients always had undivided attention. I understand that there are only two stylists there, so it can be tricky if you have more than two clients; however, considering that the space is very small, I would expect them to not have more than two at a time. I may go back here if I know that I need something in the area, but I still wouldn't name this place as my go to.

No…read moreone called me to let me know they were closing early at 3:30 pm on a Saturday afternoon, I left a message and waited for a callback the following week, never heard anything, called on Wednesday again to schedule another appointment and to find out what happened, apparently they will not wait for you or call you back. When I asked to schedule my next appointment they said the next available appointment with Lisa is 3 weeks out. I've been going to OuterEdge for years and have never complained when I always have to wait for a cut/color, but I guess it's a one way street for them. I decided she sn't worth waiting for, plenty of other good salons out there.
