They were rude, laughing and snickering at an 8yo child's disabilities, and no one wanted to cut the kid's hair--each barber without a single customer yet refusing to cut his hair and laughing. Polite, fast, and very reasonably priced. I've been going here for years and I've never had an issue. I've never seen them treat anyone poorly; they're always welcoming to every customer. I've even seen them be extremely patient with rude customers and kids that aren't use to sitting still. They do a phenomenal job of queuing customers on busy times; like weekends. read more

I went with my boyfriend who got his hair cut here. It's a big clean place with lots of large TVs playing ESPN. They also have a small kids area with toys and a kids iPad for them to play with. Lee was the barber who cut his hair and he was friendly and funny. He cut his hair and shaved the back of his neck and also offered to shave his face. The cut was average, two of the guys were sleeping in the front waiting chairs when we walked in and the chic with the ponytail was chomping her gum so ridiculously that she looked like a fish gasping at air. I've went here multiple times and had a great hair cuts and beard trims. My go to person is Tiffany, she takes her time and does a great job. I went to Mike once and he as well did a great job. Most recently I went to Alex, and asked for a beard "trim" I was growing a beard for about a year. But instead of a trim he basically shaved my face, all that is left is a tiny amount of stubble. I recently moved back to the area from New York, and one thing I got accustom to during my short time living up there was my biweekly barber visits. Finding a good barber can be difficult and stressful. I stumbled in here a few months ago and I have been going every other week since. The set up is clean and well kept. All of the employees are very polite and professional. The part I worried about was going for a particular barber. The wait can be long if you only go to one person, so its nice when the joint has multiple people who can cut your hair well. So far I have sat with 3 different people and have had excellent results. I do think a haircut is like anything else in life and when you want something specific you have to ask for it. I specify the number to be used on my sides, how much to take off the top, and supply a picture of myself with the haircut I desire. This way there is no confusion. Usually they do the fade on one side first and show me. Typically it is longer than I want but thats good because it gives them room to work with. Heads up they are cash only but what (good) barber shop isn't?!?! Come here if you live/work nearby and need a decent cut!!! read more

I stumbled upon the Dulles Barber Shop when I was in town last year looking for an apartment. I just happened to drive by and I needed a haircut. One year later, and I'm still a customer. I usually try to get Danny, but I've had my hair cut by many of the barbers there and have never had a bad cut. There was the time one of their barbers pulled back my t-shirt and shaved part of my back. That was an odd look for the pool for sure, but I have learned not to dwell on such things. They have very comfortable chairs and you probably couldn't go to the restroom without being in view of a flat screen TV. They are also great with kids. They have a toy bin and also give out suckers. Because of this, my daughter begs to go weekly. You would think they were selling happy meals. Maybe they should... They take their time and don't rush you out of the chair. When they're done cutting your hair, they break out the hot shaving cream and shave your neck and sideburns with a straight razor and then they massage your neck with a hot towel. Make sure you take cash, because they don't take credit. However, the first time I got my hair cut there, they were nice enough to let me hit up the ATM at the Giant next door after my cut. Decided to try it out after reading a Yelp review. Last place I went to was at Worldgate Center in Reston. Boy was that a bad choice. Bunch of woman cutters all talking to each other and the place stunk like fish. Not to mention her breath was killer fish too. Now to the review, walked right in, plenty of staff, friendly and sat in the first chair on left. Dont recall my Barbers name. Asked for a 1.5clip all around and ears and blend in the top with minimal cutting of top. Barber did a great job, just what I wanted. Could have got a little closer around the ears but I'm happy. Just like other reviewers said, nice straight razor around back of neck, with hot shave cream. Hot towel to whip off, and a little head rub, no shoulders though for me, would have been nice. Price was a little high $15 for cut and $3 tip. Im out here in VA for work, back home in California I pay $9 and $2tip. Oh well everything out here is much more.. TV's were HD and had a nice view. Went to the hair cuttery in the same shopping center and it had a line. So I went to the Dulles Barber, saw the prices were the same (at least at the time) and have never gone anywhere else since. I love the fact they give you a neck massage, but depending on the barber the quality differs. They used to accept credit cards, but dont anymore. For a while, they kept the credit card machine hidden and would let me use it when I forgot cash. But eventually, I always remembered to bring cash. It may be permanently gone now. read more

Shave and a haircut is not two bits anymore but still worth it. I've been going to Dulles Barber since it opened but always got just a haircut. They use straight razors for your neck, a hot towel after your haircut and have a ton of HD TVs to watch from your comfy leather chair. A few visits ago, I saw a guy nearly twice my age sprawled out on a chair getting a lather shave. Making best use of a half day at work, I went in for a haircut and with the place being empty realized it was finally time for my first. Having successfully lived through the process with no major trauma or scars, I can say it's something every guy should do once. It makes you feel manly and also somehow connects you to the "days of old" when things were slower but better. Not only is it the closest any self-respecting heterosexual male should get to a day at the spa, the results are also somewhat amazing. It's the smoothest shave I've had... ever... something guys could likely use to their advantage with womenfolk. Went here for the first time on 5/11/2018 as I needed a quick haircut since my regular guy was booked and is a hair stylist. I had not been in a barber shop since I was a kid! Wow was this different than a hair saloon/stylist. Tiffany had a good review here and I asked for her. She was backed up so I went with Amy. Amy was very friendly and asked me tons of questions about my hair, it's growth behavior etc. I keep my hair with a bit of length and not a buzz or high and tight. She was conservative on the first pass and then we agreed to take more off the back. Got the shaving cream and straight razor trim on the neck and hot towel and neck/scalp massage too. Went for a shave. The barber didn't listen to any of my directions. Changed the look of my beard completely without asking. I had shave my beard because of them right before an important conference. The barber attitude was horrible. I asked him for shave since I didn't want the bad beard. He said I won't charge you anything and showed me the door instead of correcting his mistake. Great experience here. It's only a haircut, so I won't go crazy, but this is about as good as it's going to get for the regular guy who just wants a quick haircut. Not only were they well staffed and had no wait on a Saturday morning, they had college football on the multiple large screen TVs mounted on the wall. The haircut was one of the best I've had in a year or two. They also shave the back of your neck with a straight razor, which I always appreciate. Highly recommended.
