Decided I needed to finally try out a local barber shop for a simple buzz and snip cut. Parc City does the job efficiently and well. It's a small, typical shop in a plaza. Wait for a barber's chair to open up, tell them what kind of cut you're looking for, and they'll get right to it. A hot towel and a neck cleanup are part of the cut at the end as well. I am glad I found this place. Been going for 6 years. Very friendly and polite. They take their time. A good 30 minutes in the chair. Normally don't have to wait as I go around 2:00PM usually. One thing that bothers me (hence the missing star) is they don not clean the combs or brushes or anything between cuts. Same apron too. Now they have two TV's on the wall opposite mirror which is a good distraction. The last time I went to a Hair Cuttery (Rt. 50) in 2006, the rude Asian girl left my ear 1/2" higher one side. Big hurry. Unforgivable. She never stopped talking in her native tongue the entire time. 12" from my ear. read more

Love this place. I go here once a month after my orthodontist appointments. I've tried a lot of barber shops over the years, and this one takes the cake. The interior isn't anything special, but the service and haircuts are. I just walk in, give them general parameters (clippers on the sides, scissors on the top, cut what you feel is necessary, but leave what you can) and I walk out looking like a million bucks every time. These people are true professionals. i think the price is like 13? i usually just hand them a 20 and say "see you next month!" I think I'm going to get a shave too next time. read more

I've been coming here for many years, through at least 2 owners. Perhaps I've been lucky to have gotten to this age without any service person anywhere in the world essentially begging for more of a tip. That is what happened today. I offered a tip that was 17.64% of the bill, and the woman who cut my hair stared pointedly at my open wallet. The message was clear: that isn't enough. I added $1 and walked out. Wife forced me to the barbers, and since we just moved to Sterling, I relied on proximity and reviews to narrow down my choice. I was a walk-in on a Thursday morning and was immediately seated for my shearing... it was that bad. The safety protocols seem to be adequate, the haircut was done with clippers and comb (no # guide guards), and the cut was efficient and good looking. The $19 price was acceptable, so I will try them again before determining if this will be my go-to barbershop. read more

Had just landed in needed a haircut and trim so stopped by here while grabbing food from Toosoo. Got seated right away and got a decent haircut. Asked for a beard trim with a straight razor and it was unfortunately pretty bad. Beard wasn't even at all and honestly, I could have done a better job with an electric razor. Prices were reasonable but not worth the quality of the haircut. Don't love that it is cash only as wel. Don't think I will be back. read more

It's a great experience where not only did I get a great haircut but they do the shave and hot towels and the whole deal. New ownership Effective 1 May. I started coming here in March 17 and had been using Tyler for my weekly haircut. He is a very nice guy with good skills. Today I went in and he told me he bought the place and so answered my question as to why he was in the first seat LOL. I've also noticed the other barbers in there do a pretty good job on skin fades and I'm gaining confidence in trying Joel or one of the other ladies in chair 3. While waiting I've noticed them do a really good fade too. So for me, I might try them next time if Tyler has someone in his seat. I just like to stay with one barber. I read the mixed reviews leading up to my first visit but am glad I came in and will also be using them as my family barber for my kids as they're kid friendly. read more

Ok, let me just say that after living here for almost a year and having to settle with Hair Cuttery's unprofessional/rude staff...........feeling rejuvenated is an understatement. So I decided to venture out of the franchise hair places since this is basically all that I have ever known and discover some of the local barbers around town. After much research I found about 4 that I wanted to try out.......being that this was the closest place to where I reside, I decided to give it a try....And let me tell you that when I walked in....first I had no wait and was greeted with a warm smile and friendly "hello, how are you" from a sweet little Asian lady. The shop itself is not an overly fancy place, but fit's the retro barber shop look that it is known for and is also very clean and well maintained at that. Upon sitting in the chair I proceeded to show her a picture of a hairstyle that I wanted and she smiled and said, "I can do that". She turned me away from the mirror and immediately went to work not wasting anytime, but taking her time to achieve the look I was looking for. To my surprise she lathered some warm shaving cream on the back of my neck and used a straight razor to smooth the edges on my neck, and then topped it off with a hot wet towel massage all over my head an ears.......literally I felt like royalty at this place.......and all for $15!!!!(+$3 tip). The end result: she turned my chair around so I could see my cut in the mirror and wow what an incredible job she did. My cut was an exact match to the picture I had showed her! I am sold on my first choice of going here first out of all the places I had researched. I would highly recommend this place to any guys that live in the Sterling/Ashburn area. I've never had a satisfying haircut in my entire life. So last year I started cutting my own hair with those cheap clippers you can get at target... with decent success, too! My haircut is nothing complicated, and I've always been upset that no professional has ever gotten it right. But after months of cutting my own hair, there were signs that I wasn't as good at cutting my hair as I thought. I decided it was best to get someone to do a proper haircut. I come into Parc's nervous that I'd be leaving unsatisfied. I tell my barber, Danny, what I want in vague and unclear terms. "Hair grows back, hair grows back", I nervously tell myself. He has me faced away from the mirror (facing the TV), so I'm blinded from witnessing the surely terrible scene that is occurring atop my head. But the most amazing thing happens: Danny turns me around, and my hair looks FINE. It looked like I'd always imagined it in my wildest dreams, JUST GOOD. While holding back my tears, Danny shaves my neck, massages my shoulders, and pats my neck down with a hot towel. It may have been the happiest 60 seconds of my life. Okay so maybe my glowing 5-star review is specific to my experience, in that I'd never left a barber happy before today, so I had pretty low expectations going in. But if you're experience is anything like mine, it will be GOOD, QUICK, and CHEAP. How hard was that? read more

This is a pretty good place. I think the price is about $15 dollars and I needed a haircut. I just hopped on their chair and they took care of me. It was the usual, clippers, scissors, the usual. However, they shocked me because they put some kind of warm cream on my neck. From what I can only imagine, it was to help get rid of all of my neck hair. I've been to all the barbers in the area and this is my favorite. I come here once a month and I'm always satisfied. I usually get a great cut but a few times I've had an average cut. The cut I think is 16 and I always hand a 20 and walk out. I like that they shave your neck with cream and then wipe your neck with a hot towel. Well worth 20 dollars and I am a happy customer. I went in on a Saturday afternoon for a haircut, duh... I walked in and was immediately greeted and sat in a barbers chair. Told the guy what I wanted, took maybe 15 minutes. He used a combination of electric cutters and scissors. Finished up with some shaving creme and a straight razor for the back of the neck. Even used a hot towel and he did sorta neck massage which I think he cut short (like maybe a second or two) when he noticed I was like, "wtf? really". Now I'm not adverse to a neck massage - I was used to it at the end of a haircut when I was in the Army - by little Korean ladies, not a dude. Barber dude did the requisite "look at my handwork" in the mirror thing and got my nodding approval. Went to the front register to pay, I just had enough cash (cash only here) to pay for the cut but not a tip but they conveniently have an ATM (didn't notice the fee) so have cash on hand or suck up the ATM fee. In the end, I was pleased with the haircut and will visit again when the mane gets a bit too wild. read more
