Good experience for my 8 year-old and me. Comfortable chairs, TVs everywhere, competent barbers who speak and understand English, and what I liked most of all was the sense you weren't just getting a haircut but being properly groomed. The straight razor at the back, clipping around and even in your ears, hot towel, eyebrow trim, all the things that have you emerging like you've been well taken care of. It's a 10 mile/20 minute trip from my house, but we're likely to go back regularly. They don't take checks or credit cards so bring some cash! read more

They've got reasonable prices, lots of huge TVs and a great atmosphere. If you are a human and have walked the earth for more than a couple years, you have gotten a bad haircut. It happens to everyone and no shop is perfect. With this in mind, I think the people who have given this shop 0 or 1 stars and swear to never go back are wrong about Dulles Barber and doomed to disappointment wherever they go. I've been going here for 2 years now, exclusively. I am a regular customer of Rose, and she gives me a great cut, every time, guaranteed. She is amazing. I've also gotten haircuts from 2 or 3 other barbers, all were good. Certainly its been a little too short or too long sometimes (Not from Rose though, she has been perfect) but I accept that haircuts are always a gamble, but Dulles Barber pays off almost every time. The shop is clean, comfy chairs, rarely a wait, and big screen TVs for easy viewing from every. Fantastic work done by guys who take pride in their work. I find any negative review of this place very hard to believe. When I used to go to chain cutterys they would just set the shaver and start attacking my head. I am so thankful I found a place that takes there time and takes pride in giving a prefect haircut. There are only three barbers that have cut my hair on a regular basis since I was 12 years old - a very, very long time ago. I am extremely particular. My current barber is Rose at the Dulles Barber Shop in Sterling. She has been cutting my hair for about 5 years. I have a military style flat top that is high and tight and she does an incredible job. Her work with the number 2 razor is excellent and Rose never makes an error. I have recommended a number of friends and neighbors to use her, and those that have never went back to their previous shop. Good local barbershop with a lot of chairs so even when it gets busy they move people in and out quickly. I have been going here for several years and Rose is the best. She always remembers how I like my haircut and she is very friendly. Most of the staff seems friendly as well but I can't speak to their ability. They must be good because even during a business day they are somewhat busy. Pricing seems very reasonable and competitive for the area. I like the TVs all around as well. My only complaint is that the business is cash only but its not a big deal. I just dont carry cash often these days. read more

Yes they will give you a shave and hair cut, hot towle straight razor cut. Do not expect a style or moosed though if you ask them I am sure they will aim to please. They give guy hair cuts, shaves and do perfect burrs and high and tights but they will keep it long where you ask them, be sure they understand I almost walked out with a mullet but was corrected with better communication on my part. I would have said this place was 4 stars before my last experience. In all honesty the barbers are average. To get an amazing cut from here, you need to keep visiting the same barber. After your 3rd or 4th visit to the same barber, your hair cut improves dramatically. That is because the barber learns the shape of your scalp and the way you style your hair. I had been going to see Taylor for about 2 years. He knew the cut I liked and most times my hair cut came out looking great. My last experience left a bad taste in my mouth. I walked in and signed to see Taylor. Let me mention that when there is a crowd, I have no problem waiting 30 mins to see Taylor. I signed up and waited about 4 mins and then Taylor escorts me to his chair. He put the cloth on and just started to take cut my hair till he stopped and told me that another customer was ahead of me. Like I said I don't mind waiting, but to take a customer to your seat and start cutting his hair and within 30 seconds tell him that someone was ahead of you is unacceptable. Especially if that customer has been a regular for 2 years. I did't want to argue, and I guess Taylor thought I would wait for him. I promptly went up to the front desk and asked them to find me another available barber. They gave me a wonderful lady named KIM. She did a pretty good job but like I said, its gonna take a few more visits to her before she learns the shape of my scalp before I leave with a fantastic cut. If it wasn't for Kim's kind words and her somber attitude I probably wouldn't have gone back. I will change my rating once a get a few more cuts from Kim and if my experience improves. I am positive I will never go and get a cut from Taylor again. Edit: I have changed my 2 stars rating to 3 stars. The barber I go see is Tammy. Tammy is a wonderful lady and always gives the best cuts. We always have nice conversations and she is always attentive to my likes and dislikes in a hair cut. She has great attention to detail and works very methodically to give me the very best hair cut i can get. My hair cuts always come looking great when she does it. Most times my hair cuts look so natural that you cannot even tell that I had a hair cut. I give her 5/5 but give the store an overall rating of 3/5. You just have to go and find the right barber for you at this store. This can be quite challenging. read more

I went there saturday, November 5th, for a haircut. The place was clean enough but the issue was with the guy cutting my hair. When asked what i wanted I told him, "a light trim and the neck cleaned up." He repeated this to me to confirm and then said he wouldn't touch the top. He sat me in the chair as normal but then the first thing he did was run the clippers up the back of my neck. I have been growing my hair out for months and it was all undone in one swipe. By the end my hair had gone from 6 inches to about 1, maybe 1.5. i allowed him to finish and told him the problem which he didn't understand because he didnt speak english very well. i paid for the cut and asked him to just buzz it all off number 1. he didnt understand this either but we eventually got through it. This was incredibly upsetting and even more so when he didnt understand the problem. i will never go here again.This whole debacle cost me 17 dollars. read more

I've gone there twice now, thinking the first time was a fluke. Nope. My hair is not exactly a complicated affair. A "#3" razor on the sides and back, trim on top with scissors. Both times I went, I was clear in my request. Both times, I asked them to repeat it back. Both times, I came out looking almost bald, with a very short shave. Customers face each other instead of mirror and can watch TV shows (and advertisement:/) on the other side. If you want quick professional haircut with full attention and watch the progress go elsewhere. If you want inexpensive haircut and don't mind to sit in a chair longer this is place to go. Had a terrible experience here today with one of the female barbers. It's unfortunate because I didn't mind coming here for the last year as I have gotten decent cuts, but I cannot tolerate being disrespected as a paying customer. Did not get the name of the Barber but she was rude and condescending the entire time, telling me to stop moving when I wasn't, telling me I couldn't look at my hair until the end of the haircut?, and then proceeding to tell me that she would never cut my hair again. I asked her why she was so rude and mean and she said that I was rude one! I hardly spoke a word to her the entire haircut and had to endure her barking at me for everything I was doing wrong when I was simply sitting there and letting her cut. I won't judge as it clearly was a personal problem to do with her hating her life, but I refuse to patron a barber shop where the surrounding employees do not intervene or reprimand an employee for misconduct, especially when the disrespect was shown whilst in the company of other customers. read more

I have been coming here since I moved to Leesburg last year. The location and hours are also convenient to where I work. I usually go after work and I've never had a wait longer than 10 minutes and that is requesting a specific barber (Michael), I'm sure if you just sign in and get first barber available it would be even quicker. They've raised the price for a regular haircut from $15.00 to $16.00 since I've started going here but no big deal. Only slight drawback is cash only but my bank is close enough it's not too much of a hassle if I plan ahead of time. read more

This barber shop is average. Haircuts are reasonably priced for Northern VA prices and the staff is always polite. The big screen tvs are nice to watch sports on while getting your haircut. The shop is clean and well maintained. The biggest problem is that it is cash only. When I forget that, I have to run to Giant food store next door, buy something so I can't request cash back to pay the barbershop. I wish the barber shop would charge an extra $1 or $2 for credit card use, so the experience would be more convenient. The cash only transaction isn't a deal breaker, but it stops me from rating it 4 stars. read more

David is a good choice especially if some of the more popular guys are busy. As for bad reviews -- you must accept some responsibility for communications here. Before I settled in with one guy who now knows what I want I had to sometimes repeat my request a few times and check that it was understood. A small trade-off for a good cut at a good price. Anyone who says its same or worse than HairCuttery for a man's cut is wrong -- I think anyway. read more
