Even though we are visiting Duluth during this crazy time of the wild fires, Duluth Grill made our trip worth it! They have a streamlined process for getting seated, the staff are welcoming and knowledgeable about the menu and local area. My family ordered the usual staples: biscuits and gravy, pancakes and sausage, and bacon/eggs/sausage. All were hearty portions and perfectly prepped. I tried the "Triple B" which turns out to be a Midwest version of Bibimbop. Made with manoomin (wild rice), beef/pork mix, kimchi, marinated kale- probably my fave of the dish. The combo is a deliciously perfect power meal to start any day and weekend right! I was pleasantly surprised and impressed by the care they take in procuring local ingredients- even their kale and some herbs are from their own lil garden. My son and I were visiting Duluth this past weekend and had breakfast at Duluth Grill, Sunday, 5/31. We had checked reviews and saw there were some reviews indicating this restaurant was not as good as it used to be. We decided to see for ourselves as the menu, other positive reviews sounded like it was an incredibly good place to go. It is. It was. It was busy, being a Sunday morning especially, but the staff was handling it all well from our perspective . I used to manage restaurants a long time ago and was impressed with the flow. Our waitress, Natalie, was delightful, knew the menu well to describe and answer questions, and we were not wanting for anything. She checked on us, always grinning and managing the iace well. I had the banana bread pancakes. A perfect choice ! They came and looked like a picture stacked up and flowing down with Carmel, maple bourbon syrup, marzcapone cream and nuts. So delicious. I took half home and enjoyed the rest later. Heated up perfectly with a 20 second zap in micro. My son had the corn beef hash skillet and said his was just as good as mine. We both agreed that we had no idea why reviews were negative, especially going on a busy morning. We will be going back every time we visit. I recommend you do too. read more

We love the Duluth Grill. I still miss the old, bigger menu. My husband always orders a more traditional breakfast and he really liked it. Today I went for the Blueberry Yum Yum which is a chicken sandwich with blueberry compote and jalapenos. They make their own compote and are almost out so hurry while you can to try this item. Very good and very messy but the combo worked surprisingly well. Don't miss the hashbrowns as they are truly excellent. And the Local tea is always a favorite with honey and lemon. Free parking. Something I really appreciated is that I observed them using one color towel for cleaning the booths and another color to clean the table tops. I came here Grandmas marathon weekend. The wait was long however they were open past the time they posted online so I have grateful for that. I sat at the high top and ate there. The waitress behind the counter was very friendly and checked on me often. To eat I had an everything omelet. Very delicious but a bit small. I had orange juice on the side. I'm not from the area and people told me to go check this place out. I had high hopes. Just like everything else in the world, the prices they were charging were ridiculous. Every meal is $15+ and the food was okay. I have been to better breakfast places. The locals literally told me this was the best place to go. My expectations were high. I rarely eat out and I decided to treat myself. I got the Farmers Feast. It comes with two eggs, side of meat and two sides. I'm surprised they didn't offer fresh fruit. They had parfaits but that sounded very sweet for the AM. The food portions are HUGE. My meal for one could feed 2-3 people. The pancake was okay- not what I was expecting but it looks like they actually do make it at the restaurant. The reason I don't eat out is because everything is expensive and the food quality isn't good. I want to feel good with the food I eat. This meal I got was way too much for one person. It's just contributing to the obesity problem we have in the United States. To each their own, but I won't be eating there again. If you're going for the vibes and to hang out with people, I can see why it would be fun. The coffee was alright but I didn't finish it. The cinnamon roll was pretty good though. read more

My friend and I literally walked in here not expecting anything or knowing anything about this place, but that it was quite literally right across from our Motel 6. We walked into a busy/bustling restaurant, but got seated right away to our bar seating. We were greeted by our friendly server. Let me start by saying, this is quite a filling breakfast option! In my opinion, it's honestly a hungry mans meal and literally a feast. I personally couldn't finished everything and had to pack the french toast to go. Everything in this breakfast offering tasted great. The jalapeno grits was a more spicier than I expected (and I love spicy), but great nonetheless. The french toast bread was very soft and even when I ate it much later, I still enjoyed it. Overall, the food here is great. The service is great. Everyone is really all so nice. I can see why it's busy inside. Based on Yelp reviews and comments, we decided to give this place a try for breakfast. The place was super busy late Monday AM when we arrived and also after we ate. Even so, there was a less than a 5-minute wait. This is a loud environment, but it wasn't distracting. The walls are covered with all sorts of interesting and different art pieces. Very cool. Our food arrived in a timely fashion, was hot and flavorful. I will give a heads up that the Mediterranean Omelet is very rich, but delicious. The hash browns side is huge. The Griddle platter arrived exactly as ordered with eggs over very hard. When we pulled up to the building, it looked a bit lack luster but as soon as we walked inside, the smells and quaint ambiance changed my mind. Our server was very helpful and even had the manager come over when we had questions about the drink menu. The Bloody Mary was amazing and I also enjoyed the Pineapple Express drink. The Bibimbap bowl was so flavorful and something different. The Medieval Gyros were a fun take on gyros with a full bone-in lamb shank. The meat was fall off the bone and super tender. I've been wanting to visit the Duluth Grill since I saw this place on diners drive-ins and dives. I don't believe they take reservations which is unfortunate for such a busy place. We showed up on a Saturday morning for brunch around 10 and we were about 30th in line. The wait went pretty quickly and we were sat within 30 minutes. They have a large money with a lot of great options as well as fun, cocktails, and coffees. The service was immediately friendly and accommodating to order adjustments. This place is pretty spacious with a lot of booths and tables. They also have a decent sized parking lot that is attached there is also a lot of parking nearby. If you're attending on a Saturday or Sunday, I would highly recommend getting there early or having someone put your name in while you wait. read more

There is a waitlist you can join online, so you can save some time by doing that before you arrive to the restaurant. There is ample seating indoors, and the interior is designed and decorated beautifully. I ordered the meat lover's omelet with a side of brussels sprouts, and both were very delicious. This restaurant came highly recommended by our friends so we decided to give a it a try on a Tuesday morning. Luckily, the wait was not long. We came at the right time. I will say that everyone at the restaurant was very friendly, from the hostess to our waitress. My husband and I decided to share the Farmers Feast and we went with the dill smashed potatoes and the Korean Brussel sprouts as our sides. I will say the Brussel sprouts were killer sides! So delicious! One of our friends went with the pork belly Benedict. The pork belly certainly did the dish justice. This place is very popular and we can see why! We arrived just 10 minutes after they opened and it was already pretty busy. Come early if you don't want to wait! We were warmly greeted when we walked through the door. Everyone that we interacted with was super friendly. Aiden was our server and we felt lucky to have him. He seems to really enjoy his job, enjoy people and loves the food they serve. He walked us through the menu and shared his favorites. They have a very interesting menu with some options you don't typically see on breakfast menus. Don went with Aiden's favorites: miso pork belly eggs Benedict with the sticky bun. Both had great depths of flavor. I ordered the multigrain pancake griddle platter with bacon and eggs. Very delicious and the bacon is excellent! The pancake is quite large so I'm taking half home to warm up for breakfast tomorrow. The food came out hot within 10 minutes of ordering.
