Greek Salad ($12) , hold the onions, with Gyro meat ($2) was a hit.
    Tracey A.

Visiting Duluth was akin to an experiment in how much Covid risk I was willingly able to accept. Arriving at The Social House, my friend announced that she'd like to lunch indoors, despite there being outdoor picnic tables to dine at. Indoors, the place was a busy hive of filled tables and no windows that open to the outside. I swallowed my fears, stayed masked, and studied the menu. The menu here has all of that breakfast stuff that sounds irresistible. Lunch stuff too, but I was drawn to the breakfast stuff. Anytime something is described as a "skillet" meal, with eggs draped atop home fried potatoes, I'm usually in. Here was no exception; at least I had something to look forward to when I unveiled my face. Service from a staff of 20-somethings was really nice, friendly, and welcoming. The fitting mantra of the place is "never pretentious, always satisfying" and it's the truth. When my friend's Gyro-draped Greek Salad ($14) arrived I said "no way are you going to eat all of that" as she usually doesn't, and it was a nice-sized portion. But she did, so color me wrong. My "Garden Skillet" ($13) was the perfect meal to satisfy breakfast cravings and the runny poached eggs I requested were delivered as specified, a sometimes difficult feat for restaurants to pull off. My sole complaint is that it arrived on a plate rather than a small iron skillet as these things usually are. Really? That's no sort of complaint at all. The Social House is nothing fancy, just tables in a square room and not spaced for social distancing. Momentarily, it'll be too cold in MN to eat at those outdoor tables (anywhere). They'll fill you up good here though, should you decide to risk it.

Country fried steak with breakfast potatoes

Stopped in on a weekend trip to Duluth and was pleasantly surprised by the delicious food and friendly staff. Great menu selection - we chose the country fried steak, corned beef hash, and BBQ brisket Benedict - it is on a croissant-style English muffin which was unique and tasty! The country fried steak had an amazing breading and was perfect. They serve coffee from Duluth Coffee Co - yum! P.s. try their amazing hot sauce selection (many supplied by local Lake Superior Spice Co) and take a few bottles home! Especially the "Damn Good Mustard"

What a cute little corner restaurant ~ hours are 7am to 3pm. (I think) We (table of four) were seated promptly, around 11 it's mildly full. We got a mix of brunch and lunch options. All patrons would rate the food and freshness well, but nothing was over the top. Prices are reasonable. Nothing was a screaming eagle deal. The service was good... Stop in if you're in the area!

The staff were so nice, it was packed and our wait was so short. The caramel rolls are delicious, so much so it may be the new stop on the way back from the cities. Very fun menu, and the choice to turn an omelette into a scramble was top tier.

Veggie omlette with Ranchero sauce on the side.

Our son even came down to join us after I texted him the menu, lol. We sat outside on the lovely patio under the pergola, and really enjoyed a leisurely Sunday morning. it was busy, but we got service right away. Our server was great and had good suggestions. We went with the eggplant caponata polenta and the breakfast fried rice. We loved both, but I'm still dreaming of that fried rice, YUM. I could eat that for breakfast every day. Son had French toast with eggs and also loved it. We all tasted the local maple syrup and thought it was exceptional. I had heard the decaf coffee was good, and it was SO good I bought two bags to bring home. Good decaf is hard to find! I only wish it was open for dinner so we could try some of the cocktails! Maybe soon as it seems VERY popular. Will definitely return!

Even though we are visiting Duluth during this crazy time of the wild fires, Duluth Grill made our trip worth it! They have a streamlined process for getting seated, the staff are welcoming and knowledgeable about the menu and local area. My family ordered the usual staples: biscuits and gravy, pancakes and sausage, and bacon/eggs/sausage. All were hearty portions and perfectly prepped. I tried the "Triple B" which turns out to be a Midwest version of Bibimbop. Made with manoomin (wild rice), beef/pork mix, kimchi, marinated kale- probably my fave of the dish. The combo is a deliciously perfect power meal to start any day and weekend right! I was pleasantly surprised and impressed by the care they take in procuring local ingredients- even their kale and some herbs are from their own lil garden. I highly recommend the Duluth Grill, there's something for everyone! We will definitely stop by on our next trip out to Duluth.

We went to the Lake Ave. location in Canal Park since it was walking distance. Walking into the establishment you are greeted with the aromas breakfasts being made and a hostess who was friendly. We opted to eat outside under the covered patio to enjoy the day. The menu has plenty of options to suit one's fancy - pancakes, waffles, pecan/cinnamon rolls for those with a sweet-tooth, and of course any number of savory plates for the rest of us. Making an eating decision can prove difficult. the Huevos Rancheros looked appealing as did the breakfast sandwich, and the brisket eggs Benedict. I opted for what was behind door number four and picked the country fried steak and eggs. Much to my delight, instead of the usually Sysco food distributor breaded chopped steak topped with a gravy from an institutional food can - They actually used a rib-eye for the steak, and homemade gravy. I also had the option of toast or a pancake. I always love me some decent rye toast, but today was a day to mix it up, and the pancake was nice, and not too big. I also liked that there was an option for blueberry syrup, or Maple syrup. The other item ordered was the Greek Omelet, my wife truly enjoyed it, and they also cooked her hash-browns to order which she appreciated (she likes them really, really crispy). I this will definitely be a must have place to eat every time we are in Duluth. I highly recommend this place.

I think the boozy brunch crowd comes in late morning. We were seated quickly and ordered breakfast. We got the usual pancakes, French toast, etc. Everything was good. Best ever? No, but pretty solid and the portions were generous. The kids ate it, which is most important. The service was good, too. It was a bit hectic for the staff because they sat like 8 parties of 4 all at once - all with kids, so it was a lot for them to manage, but they pulled through and we were well taken care of. I heard it gets packed by mid-late morning, so if you can, get there early!
